Silence From Politicians Exposes Double Standard After Beto O’Rourke Calls Netanyahu ‘Racist’

Go here to see the original:

P residential candidate Beto O’Rourke appears to have gotten a free pass from Washington after unequivocally calling Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a “racist.” The reaction to O’Rourke’s words — there wasn’t one — stood in stark contrast to the bipartisan response to Minnesota’s freshman Rep. Ilhan Omar for her remarks about an influential pro-Israel lobby group in Washington. The silence from “ many sides ” highlighted the clear double standard and hypocrisy when it comes to who utters criticism of Israel. See Also: Meghan McCain Sheds White Tears Over Ilhan Omar And The Jewish Community, And No One Is Here For It While on the campaign trail in Iowa on Sunday, the Texas Democrat said the U.S.-Israeli relationship was important but threatened by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu . “That relationship, if it is to be successful, must transcend partisanship in the United States, and it must be able to transcend a prime minister who is racist, as he warns about Arabs coming to the polls, who wants to defy any prospect for peace as he threatens to annex the West Bank, and who has sided with a far-right, racist party in order to maintain his hold on power,” O’Rourke said just days ahead of Israel’s election on Tuesday for its next prime minister. The silence out of Washington—from Democrats and Republicans—was deafening compared to the sparks that flew against Omar, one of two Muslim congresswomen elected in November. Indeed, several other Democratic presidential candidates endorsed O’Rourke’s remarks about Israel’s prime minister. That same support proved elusive to Omar when she offered her criticism of Israel in February. She took to Twitter on Sunday and posted a simple emoji to publicly acknowledge that she recognized what appeared to be a double standard. https://t.co/x1hZuxASnW — Ilhan Omar (@IlhanMN) April 7, 2019 Omar found herself in the middle of a firestorm on Feb. 12 after there was outrage over her comment to a tweet about how she and Michigan’s Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib —the other Muslim woman member of Congress—could face consequences for criticizing Israel. “It’s all about the Benjamins baby,” she tweeted in reference to a slang term for $100 bills coined by rapper Notorious B.I.G. When asked whom she thought was paying lawmakers, Omar replied: “AIPAC!” a pro-Israel lobby group. The congresswoman was ultimately forced to apologize, saying that her intention was never to offend “my constituents or Jewish Americans as a whole. . . . This is why I unequivocally apologize.” That, however, failed to quiet the storm. Many Democrats and Republicans were still angry, with some calling her anti-Semitic and demanding her resignation . President Trump  described Omar’s apology as “lame.” A second round of outrage against Omar erupted from comments she made at a “progressive town hall” event in Washington, D.C., on Feb. 27. “I want to talk about the political influence in this country that says it is okay to push for allegiance to a foreign country,” Omar said at the event, supposedly referring to Israel. That remark was met with House Speaker  Nancy Pelosi and other Democratic leaders drafting a resolution clearly directed at and prompted by Omar though not naming her specifically. The House passed the resolution that broadly condemned hate and intolerance. Audrey and Jeremy Roloff: When Will They Have More Kids?

Audrey and Jeremy Roloff are talking a lot about their sex lives these days. Like, an awful lot about their sex lives these days. Like, far more about their sex lives than many fans of the famous couple may be comfortable with. Audrey, for example, recently delved into the ways in which she was impure on her wedding night , explaining that she and Jeremy engaged in some red hot and quite heavy action before exchanging their vows. Jeremy then offered up a detailed explanation for why intercourse can still be orgasmic even when a married couple must fit it into their busy schedule. The former Little People, Big World cast members either wrote about these subjects in their newly-released memoir, “A Love Letter Life,” or talked about them while doing press for the book. But while it sounds like both Jeremy and Audrey enjoy sex because it makes them feel good, let’s face it… … some people believe the only reason to have sex is to pro-create. Which leads to an inevitable question: When might Audrey and Jeremy do so again? The Roloffs are parents to a precious 18-month old daughter named Ember, over whom they gush as wildly as any parents we know read about on the Internet. It would simply be astonishing if Jeremy and Audrey did not want to become parents again, which is a thesis the latter has now backed up in an interview with Us Weekly. “We do want to have more kids,” Audrey tells this tabloid, adding: “We’ve always wanted to have a big family. … We don’t put a timeline or a number on it, but Lord willing, we definitely want to have more kids and we’ll take them one at a time.” That really is the best attitude, isn’t it? No judgement at all against anyone who plans this stuff out, but it’s also perfectly fine to wait and see how life brings you. These days, it brings a lot of traveling for Jeremy and Audrey as they visit various cities to promote their memoir and sign copies of it.  The picture snapped above, for example, was taken in Union Square, which is located in New York City, which is the opposite side of the country from where Jeremy and Audrey reside. It might be tough for Jeremy and Audrey to squeeze in another kid right now, but they know they have plenty of time. And they know they can overcome nearly anything after Jeremy broke his porn habit and then broke Audrey free of her Bachelor habit. For real! These are things they’ve been writing and talking about. Here, this link explains why Jeremy hates The Bachelor . And this one explains how he used to totally love pornography . We told you: These two just keep talking about sex, whether they’re the ones having it or they’re watching other people have it through a computer screen. In case you aren’t familiar with what’s been going on , the up-and-coming artist took over the Hot Country Songs chart after putting out his viral hit, with reports stating that “Old Town Road” would have gone number one had it not been removed by Billboard. Taking the song down, Billboard put out a statement that said, “while Old Town Road incorporates references to country and cowboy imagery, it does not embrace enough elements of today’s country music to chart in its current version”. Their statement lit social media on fire and even got the attention of Country music legend, Billy Ray Cyrus , who supported Lil Nas X and made his position clear—publicly. “@LilNasX Been watching everything going on with OTR. When I got thrown off the charts, Waylon Jennings said to me ‘Take this as a compliment’ means you’re doing something great!,” Cyrus tweeted. “Only Outlaws are outlawed. Olivia Jade to Her Parents: You Ruined My Life!

Olivia Jade has gone from social media star to social media pariah. And she allegedly blames her famous parents for this downfall. Jade, of course, is the oldest daughter of actress Lori Loughlin and fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli. She has spent the last couple years amassing quite a social media following, with over 1.4 million Instagram followers and close to two million YouTube subscribers. It’s unclear exactly why anyone cared in the past just what Jade had to say — but it’s very clear now why they’ve turned on her. Jade and her sister reportedly had their college admissions bought and paid for by their mother and father, both of whom were indicted by the FBI last month on charges of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services fraud. According to official documents, Loughlin and Giannulli “agreed to pay bribes totaling $500,000 in exchange for having their two daughters designated as recruits to the USC crew team — despite the fact that they did not participate in crew — thereby facilitating their admission to USC.” The scandal has received national attention and near universal scorn because it just epitomizes the advantages rich people have in this country. Rich people who break the rules, yes. But there are sadly so many of them out there, some of whom work in the White House. Jade, for her part, appears to have been in on the scam because she posed for photos in a pretend crew team outfit in as part of the deception. Her parents then used their money to bribe officials at USC, placing Jade on an athletic recruit list (despite her lack of an actual athletic background) that lowered her admission standards. Despite this apparent knowledge of what was going on, Jade supposedly is irate at her mom and dad for what has become of her reputation. “[Olivia] was passionate about her career, and now everything she built has imploded before her eyes,” an insider tells Us Weekly. “She feels they ruined everything.” Jade has scarcely said a word since these arrests were made. But she lost brand deals with TRESemmé and Sephora as a result of her parents’ alleged actions. And videos such as the one posted here haven’t exactly painted her in a positive light: Lori Loughlin to Daughter: HA! I Totally Paid for Your Education! “Olivia blames her mom and dad for this scandal and for the downfall of her career,” the aforementioned tabloid reports, adding that Jade sees herself as the “victim.” Interesting, right? Some folks might say that average high schoolers, who possessed a moral compass and did NOT possess the means of someone such as Loughlin and who were passed over for cheaters such as Jade, are the actual victims here. One woman who thinks this has sued Loughlin and her co-defendants for $500 billion . While Olivia is technically still enrolled in the University of Southern California, a separate source told Us Weekly she “has withdrawn physically” due to fear of bullying. Then again, it’s not like she really cared about being a student there. Per her very own words. “I don’t really care about school, as you guys all know,” Jade once said on video . “I don’t know how much of school I’m gonna attend,” she added. “But I’m gonna go in and talk to my deans and everyone, and hope that I can try and balance it all. But I do want the experience of like game days, partying.” This may have been the worst $500,000 anyone has ever spent on anything.

Lil Nas X Discusses Country Music Controversy With ‘Time Magazine’

Read more:

Source: Lil Nas X / Columbia Records Lil Nas X’ s rise to fame has already come with some controversy. He discussed his unlikely overnight success in a new feature. Imagine randomly dabbling with country music and your song actually making some noise? So much so that it lands on the country music chart but is promptly removed. That is the story of Lil Nas X. Time Magazine interviewed the Atlanta native about his recent come up and the bumps and bruises along the way. In the feature, the 19-year-old detailed dropping out of college to pursue music much to his parent’s chagrin. “My dad initially was like, ‘There’s a million rappers in this industry’. They wanted me to go back to school.” But it seems he has already proven his father wrong. His single “Old Town Road” has already slotted on the Billboard Hot 100. The song’s southern twang appeal became a viral sensation with the likes of Justin Bieber showing him love. It also afforded him some relevancy within the country market as well landing him on the Hot Country Songs chart but that didn’t last too long. Billboard officially pulled him from the list citing his inclusion was a mistake. Naturally, the pulling of the track looked like an obvious jig. X discussed the snub with the iconic periodical. When asked to describe “Old Town Road” he made it clear the work can thrive in several genres. “The song is country trap. It’s not one, it’s not the other. It’s both. It should be on both” he explained. While the masses think Billboard’s   move was racially biased, he attributes the slight as another example of the hesitancy of embracing something new. “I believe whenever you’re trying something new, it’s always going to get some kind of bad reception. For example, when rap started, or when rock and roll began. But with country trap, I in no way want to take credit for that. I believe Young Thug would be one of the biggest pioneers in that.” Lil Nas X just signed a recording deal with Columbia Records. You can read the rest of the interview here . — Photo: Lil Nas X

LAPD Believe Motive In Nipsey Hussle’s Murder Was Personal, Not Gang Related And That He Knew His Killer

Go here to read the rest:

Source: MARK RALSTON / Getty Los Angeles police informed the Los Angeles Times on Monday that they were making progress in the search for the gunman who shot and killed  Nipsey Hussle  on Sunday afternoon. The  Victory Lap rapper was gunned down in front of a shopping mall that he owned and prominently featured his  The Marathon clothing store. Law enforcement sources told the Times they believed the killer was someone that Hussle knew. Detectives also believe that although the gunman has gang ties, his motives were more likely personal in nature rather than a gang feud. The coroner officer’s said Monday that the 33-year-old succumbed to a gunshot wounds to the head and torso. He was shot six times in total, five bullets hitting him in his chest. The individual who shot Hussle did so at close range before leaving in a getaway car. On Monday, multiple worlds from hip-hop to tech to most, if not all of Los Angeles stopped in paying their respects to the fallen rapper, entrepreneur, father, brother and businessman. “Driving down Slauson four in the morning, I can’t sleep,” The Game posted on Instagram. “S**t crazy, I’m disgusted by this s***.” Tributes were posted by the Los Angeles Metro, various school districts across the country, the Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers. In Houston, Travis Scott  posted condolences on social media while NBA MVP  James Harden , a close friend of Hussle’s called it, “one of the worst days of my f**king life!” The pair were close as Hussle was on hand in Los Angeles last summer to watch Harden accept his MVP trophy and Harden personally requested nothing but Hussle’s music be played during Rockets pregame warmups. It’s more torture than to pursue it and not get the results you want.”
