Swirly Matrimony-dom: Daughter Of BET Founder Bob Johnson Marries Millionaire Golfer In The Bahamas

The Swirl : 1, Brothas: 0 Bob Johnson’s Daughter Marries White Man In Bahamas There’s one less heiress on the market: Paige Johnson got married Saturday. Via Washington Post reports: The gorgeous daughter of BET founders Bob and Sheila Johnson wed Dudley Payne III in a sunset ceremony at the Ocean Club in the Bahamas. The bride and groom picked the site because they’re fans of the James Bond movie “Casino Royale,” which was set at the famed luxury resort. More than 200 guests attended the lavish four-day celebration, which kicked off with a rehearsal dinner Thursday. A beach party on Friday got hit with some rain, but we’re told there was perfect weather for the ceremony and reception Saturday, where Grammy-winning R&B star Ne-Yo sang Elton John’s “Your Song” for the couple’s first dance. There was also entertainment by in-demand DJ Cassidy — who has spun discs at the White House as well as at Jay-Z’s house — and a Motown band. Guests trickled out after a farewell brunch Sunday. This is the first marriage for Johnson, a champion equestrian based in Middleburg, as well as for Payne, an insurance broker from Warrenton. The two were introduced by a mutual friend seven years ago and have been dating ever since. “This guy is the perfect guy for Paige,” Bob Johnson told us last week. “He’s a true gentleman.” Before proposing last year, Payne took the old-fashioned step of inviting the multi-millionaire to Café Milano to ask for his only daughter’s hand in marriage. Their courtship and engagement stayed under the radar because the two have been so busy with other pursuits. Johnson, 27, who walked the aisle in a Monique Lhullier gown, has been a competitive equestrian rider since she was 5, training in Virginia and Florida, and traveling to competitions around the world. She was included in a 2012 Town & Country cover story on heiresses of the horse world, alongside fellow riders Jessica Springsteen and Georgina Bloomberg. Payne, 30, has an insurance brokage business but his real passion is golf; he competes at serious amateur tournaments almost every weekend. “They’re both intensively competitive in their chosen fields,” said her dad. Hide Ya Kids, Hide Ya Wife! 44 Percent Of GOP Wanksters Believe An “Armed Revolution To Protect Liberties” May Soon Be Necessary

No wonder we can’t get new gun control laws passed. SMH Via NYDailyNews reports : Think of it as an alternate definition for the term “gun control.” Nearly half of all Republicans surveyed said they believed that “an armed revolution in order to protect liberties might be necessary in the next few years,” a new poll from Fairleigh Dickinson University found. While 44% of registered Republican voters indicated that they believed armed rebellion would soon be a reality in the U.S., just 18% of Democrats agreed. As for Independent voters, 27% indicated that guns would soon be used to settle the country’s political problems. The partisan gap on the question of whether armed revolution will soon play a role in America’s political history mirrors the differences in opinion on gun control. While 50% of those surveyed said that new gun control legislation was necessary to protect the public, just 24% of Republicans said new laws were needed. A whopping 73% of Democrats favored new legislation, the survey found. It’s no secret the Republicans love their guns, but it’s downright scary that they have armed revolution on their minds. This ain’t 1776 and the British ain’t coming to strip us of our rights. Fear Of A Black Planet is real though y’all. AP Continue reading

No Love: The Till Family Not Here For Lil’ Wayne’s “Apology”

The Till family wants Lil’ Wayne’s head on a platter. Till Family Doesn’t Accept Lil’ Wayne’s Apology According to TMZ Lil Wayne’s “apology” to the family of civil rights icon Emmett Till was NOT REALLY AN APOLOGY … in fact, it fell way short … a rep for the Till family tells TMZ. Earlier today, Wayne fired off a letter to the Tills … to “acknowledge” the hurt he caused the family when he compared Emmett’s violent death with the violent way he has sex with women. Nowhere in the letter did Wayne say he was sorry for what he did. Now, Airickca Gordon-Taylor — Executive Director, Mamie Till Mobley Memorial Foundation and Till Family Representative — tells TMZ the family does not view the letter as a formal apology. “While it’s commendable that he has vowed to respect the legacy of Emmett Till and his memory to ‘not use or reference Emmett Till or the Till family in his music,’ this statement falls short of an apology, as none is mentioned.” We’re reaching out to Lil Wayne for comment — stay tuned. Maybe the Till family has a point. Yes he issued a statement, but he did not say sorry one time. Do you think Lil’ Wayne’s apology was sincere? Getty Continue reading

For Discussion: Detroit Takes Top Three Spots On The Most Dangerous Neighborhoods In America List

Motor city is now murder city! Detroit Most Dangerous City In The U.S. According to CBS Detroit It’s a clean sweep for Detroit, but nothing to be proud of, as the city takes the top three spots on a list of the most dangerous neighborhoods in America. The study by NeighborhoodScout.com analyzed FBI statistics from 17,000 local law enforcement agencies to pinpoint neighborhoods across the country with the highest predicted rates of violent crimes per 1,000 residents. Researchers drilled down deep into cities and towns to find specific census tract areas that had the highest rates of homicide, forcible rape, armed robbery and aggravated assault. According to the study, the area east of the Barton-McFarland community in zip code 48204 is the most dangerous neighborhood in America. The study said the chances of becoming a victim of violent crime in this west side community over the course of a year are one in seven. According to NeighborhoodScout, one of the more devastating events in this neighborhood over the past year was the closure of the public library — where children took remedial reading and math classes and adults used public computers to apply for jobs. Sharing similar statistics is the Islandview community in the 48207 zip code on the city’s east side, which ranks as the second most dangerous neighborhood on the list. It’s in this neighborhood where, according to the study, housing costs have gone down so dramatically that a 3,300 square-foot property sold for just $800 — down from $70,000 in 2002. The study said the chances of becoming a victim of violent crime in this community over the course of a year are one in seven. Coming in as the third most dangerous neighborhood in the country is the area between Ravendale and LaSalle College Park in zip codes 48213 and 48205. The study said the chances of becoming a victim of violent crime in this east side neighborhood are one in eight. About 40 percent of the households here have four or more cars — more cars per household than in 96 percent of the country, according to NeighborhoodScout. The vacancy rate in this neighborhood is also about 30 percent. Detroit is to America what crack was for the black community! Shutterstock Continue reading

Paul Ryan: Gay Adoption Bill Would Get My Vote

Congressman Paul Ryan led a town hall meeting in Janesville, Wisconsin last night, answering a number of questions about the economy, the sequester and other budgetary issues. But while the former Vice Presidential candidate expectantly blamed President Obama and the Democratic-controlled Senate for most of the country’s economic woes, he surprised many with his response to a question about gay adoption. “I do believe that if there are children who are orphans who do not have a loving person or couple, I think if a person wants to love and raise a child they ought to be able to do that. Period. I would vote that way,” Ryan said. In 1999, the Congressman voted to ban same-sex couples in the D.C. from adopting children. But Ryan says he changed this stance years ago, only speaking publicly about it for the first time at last night’s hotel conference room gathering. As for gay marriage ? Ryan answered that inquiry simply and straightforwardly: “I do believe marriage is between a man and a woman.” Ryan is the House Budget Committee chairman and is in his home district as part of a week-long congressional recess.

Ho Sit Down: Fox News Host Megyn Kelly Says Eric Holder’s Denunciation Of Violence Against Muslims Could Be Seen As Offensive

For some people ignorance is just in their DNA. Fox News Host Says Eric Holder’s Remarks Could Be Offensive According to Raw Story U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder’s denunciation of violence against Muslims during a speech to the Anti-Defamation League could be seen as offensive, according to Fox News host Megyn Kelly. Though the vast majority of his speech focused on the ADL’s importance in fighting hate crimes, some conservatives have become outraged that Holder denounced “misguided acts of retaliation” against Muslims. Kelly addressed the issue during a segment on Monday. “He is speaking to the Anti-Defamation League, which is a group that fights anti-Semitism and he is lecturing that group on how they can’t be bigoted, and we can’t be ignorant, and we can’t have a backlash against Muslims,” Kelly said. “I mean, the context could be perceived by some to be somewhat offensive, that the Attorney General is perceiving the folks in front of him or others in this country are now getting ready to put on their bigoted clothes and go out there and exercise their ignorance as opposed to expressing outrage at the fact that we were attacked by two guys who apparently are followers of radical Islam.” Kelly’s guest, Julian Epstein, completely dismissed her concerns, stating that nobody at the ADL thought Holder’s remarks were offensive. He noted Muslim Americans and mosques frequently faced attacks following high-profile terror attacks like the Boston Marathon bombing. But Kelly was skeptical that Muslims in the United States were threatened, citing the lack of news coverage of such events. Following the Boston Marathon bombing earlier this month, frequent Fox News guest Erik Rush called for all Muslims to be killed. Three days later, a man assaulted a Muslim woman in Boston and screamed, “Fuck you Muslims! You are terrorists!” The FBI has investigated more than 800 hate crimes against Muslims — and those perceived to be Muslim — since 9/11. Do you think when people are given a public platform it magnifies their racism? Fox News

First of all, I never thought I was going to write my own Bieber…

First of all, I never thought I was going to write my own Bieber experience. I’m really blessed that I’m writing mine now. I met Justin on April 13th 2013. Tickets went on sale and my dad bought me one of the best tickets they had: section D row 9, in the golden circle. I was so happy, I cried all day. Then a week later, I logged on Twitter and checked the trends. I saw ‘M&G’ and clicked on it. I saw that there were meet & greets on sale in my country! As soon as I could, I quickly called my dad and asked if he wanted to buy me a meet and greet. Weird enough he said yes. I was so happy and could not believe it. I made a countdown calendar and started to count down all the way from 285 days. Everyday I was getting more and more excited. I logged in on Twitter and was looking for other beliebers who also had a meet and greet for my show. I found a girl, Roswitha. I started talking to her and we fangirled almost every day. A day before the concert I started realizing I was going to meet Justin the very next day. I woke up the next day, showered, did my makeup and hair, and I was ready to go to the Gelredome in Arnhem. My dad parked the car and I ran as fast as I could to the arena. I called Roswitha to ask her where she was because we wanted to meet each other so bad. After an hour of looking for some of my belieber friends, I finally found Roswitha and a other girl. Her name was Quinty. We walked to the door where we had to be for the meet and greets. Once we got inside, Ryan, the VIP host was upstairs and asked us for our tickets one more time. We showed them and then he gave us a meet & greet wristband and a pass. In line some girls screamed and everybody in the room ran to the window. That’s when we saw Justin’s tour bus and we almost cried! Time passed and we continued to follow a line. We stopped in front of a black curtain and they didn’t closed it yet. WE SAW JUSTIN. He was wearing his sunglasses on but he took them off. He looked into our direction and screamed so loud. Then the security closed the curtains but Justin was a badass and opened it and said, “Come in ladies.” After 10 seconds they pushed Roswitha in and then myself. I literally saw Justin SO close. After 3 years of believing. It was the best feeling to see your entire world standing in front of you. At that moment I realized how much Justin means to me. I didn’t saw him on a TV or on a laptop screen. No, he was standing right in front of me. Just being flawless and happy. I smiled when Justin smiled and he took my breath away. Roswitha got pushed away and I was next. Justin asked me, “Have you ever been to a rainforest?” He was talking so fast and I was in shock so I replied, “Huh?” Justin smelled so good, he is so handsome. They took the picture and I wanted to say, “I love you” but the security pushed me away. I walked in the hall and the meet & greet line was so long. I was crying my eyes out and ran to Roswitha. We both cried together. After that we walked into the arena and people were lining up to ask us how it was and they almost cried with us. It was AMAZING. I got to my seat just in time to see the countdown begin. Within seconds, Justin came out with wings. I screamed as loud as I could, I was barely breathing. I enjoyed every second of the concert, I really felt the energy in the arena, and Justin seemed so happy. The concert was so wonderful. It definitely changed my life. To all those beliebers who are still waiting on that day to meet/see Justin, NEVER GIVE UP. I’ve been a belieber since 2010 and I never met Justin or even saw until April 13, 2013. Now it’s your turn. Thank you for reading my Bieber experience. -@OurJustinGrewUp Read the rest here: First of all, I never thought I was going to write my own Bieber…

My name is Roswitha, I’m 17 years old, from Holland and…

Here is the original post:

My name is Roswitha, I’m 17 years old, from Holland and I’ve now met Justin 4 days before my birthday. I never thought I was able to write my own Bieber Experience but it all happened on April 13, 2013. Here’s how it all started: I was on summer vacation and my mom woke me up and told me that Justin was coming to my country for the Believe tour. I looked at her and said, “No I don’t believe you.” She said “look,” and showed me on TV. Tickets were going on sale on Thursday July 5th 2012 and I was so afraid that I was not going to be able to get a ticket. The day they went on sale I bought a ticket and I was happy. Weirdly enough, on Saturday July 7 the meet and greet tickets went on sale. I was screaming and asked my mom for a M&G ticket but she said no because I already had tickets. I was angry and sad because this was finally my change to meet Justin. Turns out my parent tricked me and got me the M&G package after all. When the tickets came in the mail, I read them and they said, “V.I.P MEET & GREET EXPERIENCE.” I started to cry and could not believe it. Every single day I tweeted how many days it was until April 13th 2013 – the day I was going to meet Justin.  The morning of the big day, I woke up really early. When I got to the arena there was big black busses driving in and I saw Ryan, Alfredo and Kenny! We then waited 4 hours for Justin in the meet and greet line. Finally I was the next person in line to meet him. The only thing I thought was, “Omg it’s him, he’s an angel.” Justin’s friend Lil Za was there too. The security pushed the curtains  open and Justin said, “Come in ladies!” I looked at Justin and asked, “Can I have a hug?” Security pushed me on the left side of Justin and he said, “Come on this side” and smiled so cute to me! I was then standing next to him on the right side. They took a picture but I can’t remember where I was looking at. My hand was touching Justin’s arm and it was so soft!  The picture was done and I asked again, “Can I have a hug?” Justin opened his arms and was coming to me until his secuirty pushed me away! Justin said something but I can’t remember and the last thing he said was, “BYE BYE!” Justin’s tattoos are so sexy in person and his voice is really cute. HE WAS REALLY HAPPY AT THE MEET AND GREETS! I came out of the room of the meet and greets and my mom found me. I cried so hard and I was shaking. We were looking for my seat and it was in the third row at the end of the catwalk! When the show began, it was amazing how he came on stage as an angel. The next day, Sunday April 14th, my meet and greet picture came on the BieberFever site and I cried so hard. I’m so happy and thankful.  -@Roswithabieber Originally posted here: My name is Roswitha, I’m 17 years old, from Holland and…
