Someone at the Web site associated with the hyperbolic British music tabloid NME decided to ask Dan Rosensweig, CEO of the Guitar Hero franchise, about his take on the whole uproar over the late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain’s avatar being used in the game, and singing songs like Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love A Bad Name” to boot. Activision: Courtney Love Agreed To Cobain Avatar

Looks like Joe Wilson isn’t the only one shouting “you lie!” In a response to Courtney Love ’s allegations of suing the “S” out of Activision because of Kurt Cobain ’s likeliness being used in Guitar Hero 5 , Activision pushed out a statement, stating that Courtney Love is lying. “ Guitar Hero secured the necessary licensing rights from the Cobain estate in a written agreement signed by Courtney Love to use Kurt Cobain’s likeness as a fully playable character in Guitar Hero(r) 5 ,” states Activision to Joystiq
