Rihanna Nude But Covered

Here’s Rihanna completely naked on the cover of her new single ‘Only Girl’ (In the World) … Sort of. Obviously she’s covering up all the good parts with her silly red evening gown, if she was in the coat closet at the airport Marriott she’d look exactly like the way I left my prom date years ago. Good times. Nobody even buys CD’s anymore so why bother with these artsy semi nude covers? They’re just annoying, she shows more ass walking down the street.

Ice Cube Explains Dr. Dre’s I Am The West Absence

‘I don’t feel bad, because Snoop can’t find him either,’ Cube laughs. By Jayson Rodriguez Ice Cube Photo: MTV News NEW YORK — Ice Cube might rep the West on his new album, appropriately titled I Am the West, but the legendary Left Coast rapper is missing one important link: Dr. Dre. The former N.W.A groupmates weren’t able to connect on Cube’s project, slated for release independently September 21. Ice Cube said his and Dre’s schedules weren’t able to align. “I didn’t get a chance to work with Dre on this record,” Cube told MTV News from Skyline Studios in Manhattan, where he previewed his album for press. “He’s been M.I.A. for two to three months now. But I don’t feel bad, because Snoop can’t find him either,” he laughed. “I think, really, it’s because people expect so much from him,” he continued. “People expect, when Dre does a record, it [will] change the trajectory of music. Not just be an album and it come out and be good. It has to come and take us in a different direction. And that’s a lot of pressure.” Cube was able to recruit a stable of upstart producers and chart-toppers like Bangladesh (Lil Wayne, Beyonc

‘Class of 2010’ issue is the answer to Vanity Fair ‘s controversial ‘New Hollywood’ picks. By Shaheem Reid Fearless Magazine Photo: Arian Simone Enterprises The new magazine Fearless launches this month by answering Vanity Fair ‘s “New Hollywood” issue with its ” Fearless Class of 2010.” While Vanity Fair was criticized for featuring only white actresses on the cover, Fearless showcases only black actresses. Getting the front-page stamp for the mag’s maiden voyage are Tia Mowry, Naturi Naughton, Monique Coleman, Jennifer Freeman, Kyla Pratt, Tiffany Hines, Chyna Layne and Lauren London. London, who has a child with Lil Wayne, revealed that she will star in the VH1 movie “Single Ladies,” which Queen Latifah is spearheading, and she also explained her spirituality. “I’m always a fighter. With God, no person can stop you,” she told the mag. Meanwhile, Mowry, who stars in the “The Game,” said she lives her life like the name of the magazine. “Success comes with risk,” she said. “Being fearless is important.” “The idea to put a group of young women on the cover was thought of long before the year’s Vanity Fair controversy, but after it happened, our Editorial Board thought it was a great opportunity to celebrate women of color who are actresses in Young Hollywood,” said Arian Simone, the magazine’s editorial director. Simone described the ” Fearless woman” as fashion-forward, free-spirited and forever young. “Takers” actor Lance Cross and athletes Andre Verto and Dwight Freeny are also featured in the issue. What do you think about the magazine’s “Class of 2010”? Let us know in the comments!

Fantasia Overdose Draws Sympathy, Criticism From Fans

Reactions to the ‘American Idol’ champ’s apparent suicide attempt are mixed. By Mawuse Ziegbe Fantasia Photo: Bennett Raglin/WireImage Fantasia Barrino’s apparent attempt to take her own life has sparked a range of reactions from the “American Idol” winner’s fans. On Monday, Barrino suffered a drug overdose after ingesting a mix of aspirin and a sleep aid. The singer was taken to a North Carolina hospital, and a police report listed Barrino’s condition as a “suicide/overdose.” In the wake of the singer’s recent troubles, fans have been divided over Barrino’s alleged suicide attempt. “This is so sad and reminds me of the people who win the lottery but their life falls apart afterwards,” Burker wrote on the “American Idol” fan website Rickey.org. “So many highs and lows in Tasia’s life. I’m rooting for ya babe!” Bfashion58 also expressed support for the troubled “Idol” champ. “My prayers are with Fantasia and her family,” the poster wrote. “What don’t break you will only make you stronger.” “Hope you’ll get better soon Fantasia!! I miss you!!” Chuckgirl2008 wrote on MTV.com. “UR n my prayers Tasia, keep ur head up!!!” Reginald Ready said. Many fans have sent Barrino well-wishes, but the singer has also been the subject of much viral vitriol. Numerous online commenters have blasted Barrino’s suicide attempt as a “selfish” move that would have left her daughter without a mom. “I’m sorry, but trying to commit suicide when you are a mother is probably the most selfish thing a person can do,” Max wrote on the Clutch magazine website. “I do not feel sorry for her, I feel sorry for her daughter.” “I’m sorry but I can not feel bad for Fantasia,” an anonymous poster declared on TheYBF.com. “The thought of her taking her life and leaving her DAUGHTER parent-less over some man is very selfish to [me].” Several fans have referenced Barrino’s reported relationship with a married man as the cause of her alleged suicide attempt. The singer was named in court documents filed last week by Paula Cook, the wife of Barrino’s supposed boyfriend Antwaun, charging that the two started a “covert adulterous affair” last August. The documents also allege that the duo filmed a sex tape, which precipitated the collapse of the marriage. “I find it hard to feel bad for her bc I believe she knew what she was doing,” another TheYBF anonymous poster wrote. “Not to sound heartless, but even if she didn’t know he was married [I’m] sure she found out along the way.” “As a married woman, it is tough to feel sorry for women like this,” Clutch Mag Online poster Maria wrote. “As a celebrity she needs to think twice before doing anything that could ruin her career. Plus why go after a married man when there are so many single men out there to choose from?” “Fantasia is a sorry excuse for a [woman],” another anonymous poster typed on TheYBF. “She got caught and now she’s trying to dig her way out and I have no remorse for her.” Barrino’s drug overdose was just the latest incident in a life that has been marked by incredible highs and devastating lows. The singer overcame sexual abuse, teen pregnancy and illiteracy to take the “American Idol” crown in 2004. Barrino went on to release the platinum debut Free Yourself and starred in Broadway’s “The Color Purple.” However, the star reportedly skipped more than 50 “Color Purple” performances, and one of Barrino’s homes went into foreclosure in 2008. Yet, in 2010, Barrino appeared to be enjoying a return to the spotlight with the hit VH1 show “Fantasia for Real.” She also recently dropped the single “Bittersweet.” Fantasia fans remain split over her recent issues, however. Some commenters, such as Itgirlstyle, insist that the public should have sympathy despite Barrino’s celebrity. “Nobody is perfect, and we have all have made mistakes/choices we aren’t proud of. The difference is, when celebrities make mistakes, it’s broadcast to the world and all of a sudden everybody is perfect and feel they have the right to judge and condemn,” the commenter wrote on Clutch. “Hold your head up, Tasia.” Share your well-wishes for Fantasia and her family in the comments below. What Does ‘Lost’ ‘s Hurley Think Of Weezer’s Hurley? We Asked Him!

‘It’s extremely special … that this is actually happening,’ Jorge Garcia says of being face and inspiration for band’s new album. By James Montgomery The cover of Weezer’s Hurley Photo: Epitaph Most folks probably know Jorge Garcia as Hugo “Hurley” Reyes, the loveably scruffy character he portrayed for six seasons on “Lost.” But earlier this week, Garcia’s name was thrust back into the spotlight again when it was revealed that he was the cover star of — and apparent inspiration for — Weezer’s upcoming Hurley album . But according to Garcia, none of this should really come as a surprise. After all, he’s been a music-industry vet for years now. “I used to work at this store called Music Plus in San Clemente, California, when I was growing up, and then they became Blockbuster Music, and, like, you had to get a haircut to work there, and at the time I had some pretty long hair. So after that policy was imposed, I knew that was going to be my last summer working there,” Garcia told MTV News on Wednesday (August 11). “And then a little later, I worked in the music department of Borders, selling CDs there. So I remember the boxes of CDs coming … and I remember in the morning, setting up the ‘new release’ endcaps and having to put a bunch of copies on there and making sure they were properly stickered and all that.” And although you’d think that kind of retail experience would’ve made him a natural to grace an album cover one day, Weezer were actually the first band to come calling. And, yes, Garcia finds the entire thing just as weird as you do. “I went to do the George Lopez show [‘Lopez Tonight’], and I think they were doing two or three shows that night, and [Weezer frontman] Rivers [Cuomo] was a guest in the previous show. So they came and knocked on my door and said, ‘Hi,’ and wanted to get a picture with me, and I thought that was awesome. We chatted briefly, and that was it,” he said. “And I didn’t hear until a couple months later that they wanted to put me on the cover … I didn’t realize it was just going to be that same picture we took together, cropped down to my face. When I look at the picture, I notice that there’s something going on with my hair, like it’s starting to come loose or something. But I’m happy with it.” Garcia, who cites Bon Iver, M. Ward and the New Pornographers as some of his favorite acts, said he’s always been a casual fan of the Weezer (“I don’t recognize Maladroit so much,” he laughed) and added that being featured on the cover of Hurley is one of the biggest honors he’s received in his career. “This is really close to the top, for sure,” he said. “I think the [‘Lost’] action figure still kind of trumps it, but just coming from where I come from, it’s extremely special and dear to my heart that this is actually happening.” While Garcia will make an appearance in stores on August 24 when the sixth season of “Lost” is released on DVD, he’s really looking forward to September 14, when Hurley is due. Though, given his previous retail experience, he’s already dreading what might happen. “Sometimes when we were pricing CDs, we’d just put the stickers all over the place, until we got the instructions we had to put them in a certain place,” he said. “So I’m sure there will be some people that take advantage of having such an easy target to do whatever sticker graffiti they want to.” What do you think of Weezer paying tribute to Jorge’s “Lost” character? Did Dr. Dre Know Detox Would Take This Long? ‘Absolutely Not’

‘I thought it would take, at worst case, a couple of years,’ he tells Vibe for his cover story with Eminem. By Hillary Crosley Eminem and Dr. Dre on the cover of Vibe Photo: Vibe While Eminem talked about death and Brittany Murphy in his interview for the Vibe “Juice” issue, Dr. Dre delved into his Detox delay , the “Under Pressure” leak and rumors of an instrumental album. The Eminem and Dr. Dre cover of Vibe ‘s 15th-anniversary “Juice” issue is a nod to their original appearance in the mag eight years ago. The issue hits newsstands August 16, and Dre began by answering the question on many fans’ minds: Did he know Detox would take this long? “Absolutely not. I thought it would take, at worst case, a couple of years,” the super-producer said. “For example, actual work time on The Chronic was nine months, and actual work time on my last album, 2001, was about 10 months. The actual work time on this album is about half of that, where I’m seriously focusing on it. There is always something coming up. Like signing talent, old and new.” The California icon also talked about the recent leak of his duet with Jay-Z, “Under Pressure.” “[That] was a little bit more frustrating, because at least ‘Crack a Bottle’ had a hook on it,” Dre said of a previous leak. “I wouldn’t be as mad at a leak if the song was done. “I’m not mad at the fans,” he continued. “I’m mad at the person that leaked the sh–. I have no idea how it got out. It’s not even worth looking to see who did it. It happens. The most painful part about it is that I’m passionate about what I do, so people should hear it in the right form. Somebody actually hacked into our e-mails, so that made our red flags go up. We’re in a new age, and that’s a sign: ‘Wake up, mother—-er. You have to be more careful with your sh–.’ That’s all there is to it. I know what’s up now.” As for an album of instrumentals, Dre said it’s definitely on deck. “Oh, yeah, that’s in the works,” he said. “An instrumental album is something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time. I have the ideas for it. I want to call it The Planets. I don’t even know if I should be saying this, but f— it. [ Laughs. ] It’s just my interpretation of what each planet sounds like. I’m gonna go off on that. Just all instrumental. I’ve been studying the planets and learning the personalities of each planet. I’ve been doing this for about two years now, just in my spare time, so to speak. I wanna do it in surround sound. It’ll have to be in surround sound for Saturn to work.” What are you expecting from Dr. Dre’s new material? Share your thoughts in the comments! Related Artists Dr. Dre Eminem
