Sarah Palin Reacts To Levi Johnston And Bristol Palin’s Engagement

Former Alaska governor’s statement emphasizes daughter’s belief in ‘redemption and forgiveness.’ By Gil Kaufman Sarah Palin (file) Photo: Chip Somodevilla/ Getty Images You can bet things are going to be a bit tense at the reception. Just hours after the cover of this week’s Us Weekly was revealed — depicting a once-again engaged Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston — Bristol’s mother, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin weighed in on the surprise news. “Bristol at 19 is now a young adult. We obviously want what’s best for our children,” Palin and snowmobiling husband Todd said in a statement that was read on the “Today” show on Wednesday morning (July 14). “Bristol believes in redemption and forgiveness to a degree most of us struggle to put in practice in our daily lives.” The not-so-subtle message of the statement appeared to diss to high school dropout Johnston, 20, the one-time Playgirl model and aspiring actor who went on a tear criticizing the Palin household after he and Bristol broke up in December 2008, two weeks after their son, Tripp, was born. Bristol told Us that the couple got engaged again two weeks ago, that she had forgiven Levi for his unkind words and that they had not alerted her mom to the news, a decision she said made her a little afraid. “We got engaged two weeks ago,” she admitted. “It felt right, even though we don’t have the approval of our parents. … It is intimidating and scary just to think about what her reaction is going to be. Hopefully she’ll jump onboard.” Abstinence advocate Bristol is pictured wearing all white on the cover and standing alongside Johnston, also dressed in white and holding Tripp. “Today” reported that no wedding date has been set yet, but that the young couple would like to tie the knot quickly, perhaps as soon as next month. Until then, they are reportedly living separately. What do you think of Sarah Palin’s statement? Tell us in comments below.

Bristol Palin And Levi Johnston Get Engaged Again

Young couple said they hadn’t yet told Sarah Palin about engagement. By Gil Kaufman Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston Photo: New York Daily News More than a year and a half after calling off their first engagement, Playgirl model Levi Johnston and Bristol Palin are ready to give marriage another try. The couple first got engaged after Bristol became pregnant with their now 18-month-old son, Tripp, and took the stage together with Palin’s mother, former vice presidential candidate and half-term Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, at the 2008 Republican National Convention . They broke up just weeks after Tripp’s birth in December 2008, but the couple told Us Weekly in this week’s cover story that they are ready to get hitched. “We got engaged two weeks ago,” abstinence advocate Bristol, 19, told the magazine. “It felt right, even though we don’t have the approval of our parents.” That might be the sticky part. Johnston, 20, recently offered a public apology to the Palins, especially to Sarah, for the harsh comments he made about the family in the fallout from his breakup with Bristol. Despite agreeing to pose with Tripp on the cover of the magazine and announcing their second engagement on the cover, they admitted that they hadn’t yet told Sarah Palin about their plans. The couple said they reconnected three months ago while working on a custody plan for Tripp and unexpectedly rekindled their romance. “I really thought we were over,” Johnston said. “So when I went, I had no hope. I think we both just started talking — and then we took Tripp for a walk.” Bristol added, “When he left that night, we didn’t hug or kiss, but I was thinking how different it was. He texted me: ‘I miss you. I love you. I want to be with you again.’ … I was in shock.” Sarah Palin has been very outspoken about her feelings about Johnston in the past, lashing out at him when he claimed last fall that she referred to her infant song Trig — who has Down Syndrome — as “retarded,” slamming the aspiring model/actor and high school dropout by referring to him as “Ricky Hollywood” during an Oprah Winfrey interview and mocking his “aspiring porn” career. That contentious relationship has Bristol a bit worried about how her mother will react to their engagement. “It is intimidating and scary just to think about what her reaction is going to be,” she said of the outspoken Fox News contributor, who had not yet weighed in on the news at press time. “Hopefully, she will jump onboard.”

Bristol Palin & Levi Johnston ENGAGED, Sarah Palin Not Told

Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston are engaged, and they've shared the news on the cover of Us Weekly, seen below. They have not shared the news with Bristol's mom Sarah Palin, who has mocked Levi as “Ricky Hollywood” and poked at his “aspiring porn” career. Bristol tell the glossy, “It is intimidating and scary just to think about what her reaction is going to be. Hopefully she will jump on board.” Apparently they got back together three months ago, and engaged two weeks ago. The reconnected when meeting to discuss custody of son Tripp, 18 months old. “I really thought we were over,” Levi tells the mag. “So when I went, I had no hope. I think we both just started talking — and then we took Tripp for a walk.” Bristol continues, “When he left that night, we didn't hug or kiss, but I was thinking how different it was. He texted me: 'I miss you. I love you. I want to be with you again' … I was in shock.” Pick up the magazine for more and “exclusive pictures,” for which they pair were presumably paid. Visible on the cover is Bristol's new engagement ring. Levi already has her name tattooed on his ring finger. added by: TimALoftis

‘The Hills’ Rolling Stone Cover: How Did It Come Together?

Show creator Adam DiVello explains how they got Heidi and Lauren in the same room, in a ‘Hills: Revealed’ outtake. By Jocelyn Vena Lauren Conrad Photo: MTV Back in May 2008, Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag had already had a major falling-out and were no longer on speaking terms. So when Rolling Stone called and wanted to put all the stars of “The Hills” on the cover of the magazine, the show’s producers knew it would take some work to get the onetime pals in the same room again to join Whitney Port and Audrina Patridge for the scantily clad photo shoot. “You know, MTV press called us up and they said that Rolling Stone is interested in doing a cover for ‘The Hills.’ So, of course, you know, it’s the best call you can get,” show creator Adam DiVello recalled in an outtake from “The Hills: Revealed.” “I mean, for me anyway, every cover to me is iconic. I love the magazine, and the thought of a show that I created getting on the cover of Rolling Stone to me was an end all, be all.” The cover came with one big caveat: “All four girls, bottom line, no ifs, ands or buts,” DiVello recalled. “When you’ve got Rolling Stone calling [and] they want your cast on the cover of the magazine, but two of your castmembers don’t want to be together in the same room — namely Lauren and Heidi — it seemed like it was never going to happen. I mean, there was a time when we thought, ‘This is not going to happen,’ because we were not going to get them together.” But it seemed like the magazine-cover gods were shining on them, and the shoot came together. “You get to the bottom of it and figure out how to make it happen,” DiVello said. “And luckily, we pulled it off.” Are you excited for “The Hills” season finale on Tuesday? Tell us in the comments! Join MTVNews.com on Tuesday, July 13, at 8 p.m. ET for a live stream from the red carpet of Hollywood’s Roosevelt Hotel, where the stars will gather for “The Hills Live: A Hollywood Ending.” Then tune in for the series finale at 10 p.m. ET on MTV and “The Hills Live: A Hollywood Ending After Show” at 11. New Documentary Film Exposes Pat Tillman Cover-Up

A new documentary set to hit the big screen this summer lifts the lid on the cover-up behind the death of Pat Tillman, the pro-football star who gave up a lucrative career to fight in Afghanistan and Iraq before preparing to return to the U.S. as an anti-war icon, at which point he was killed in a so-called friendly fire incident that more closely resembled a deliberate assassination. Whether or not the documentary delves into the question of whether Tillman’s death was a targeted act of murder remains to be seen, but the evidence strongly indicates that Tillman was deliberately assassinated in order to prevent him from becoming an anti-war icon and derailing public support in the United States for the ongoing occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan. Tillman sacrificed the good life and a multi-million dollar football career in the belief that he was defending his country from outside enemies, and soon after 9/11 turned down a contract offer of $3.6 million over three years from the Cardinals to enlist in the U.S. Army. It was during Tillman’s second deployment to Afghanistan, after previously serving in Iraq, that he was killed by what the U.S. military initially claimed was a Taliban ambush. It later emerged that the ambush story had been concocted by the Pentagon in an attempt to exploit Tillman’s death for pro-war propaganda. Subsequent investigations claimed that Tillman was killed as a result of a friendly fire accident. However, in July 2007, the results of an Army medical report found that Tillman had been shot three times in the head with an M16 from a mere 10 yards away, clearly suggesting that the incident was a targeted assassination. “Army medical examiners were suspicious about the close proximity of the three bullet holes in Pat Tillman’s forehead and tried without success to get authorities to investigate whether the former NFL player’s death amounted to a crime,” reported the Associated Press. The motive for the murder would undoubtedly have been Tillman’s plans to return to the U.S. and a vocal critic of the Afghanistan and Iraq invasions. The evidence points directly to it and the motivation is clear – Tillman abandoned a lucrative career in pro-football immediately after 9/11 because he felt a rampaging patriotic urge to defend his country, and became a poster child for the war on terror as a result. But when he discovered that the invasion of Iraq was based on a mountain of lies and deceit and had nothing to do with defending America, he became infuriated and was ready to return home to become an anti-war hero. In September 2005, the San Francisco Chronicle reported that a friend of Tillman had set up a meeting with author and prominent war critic Noam Chomsky, which was scheduled to take place after Tillman’s return from Afghanistan. Chomsky confirmed that the meeting was arranged. As far back as March 2003, immediately after the invasion of Iraq, Tillman famously told his comrade Spc. Russell Baer, “You know, this war is so fucking illegal,” and urged his entire platoon to vote against Bush in the 2004 election. During a July 2007 appearance on Keith Olbermann’s MSNBC show, four star General Wesley Clark stated that “the orders came from the very top” to cover-up the nature of Tillman’s death as he was a political symbol and his opposition to the war in Iraq would have rallied the population around supporting immediate withdrawal. Watch the trailer for The Tillman Story, which is due for cinema release in August. Paul Joseph Watson Prison Planet.com Tuesday, June 29, 2010 General Stanley McChrystal is definitely implicated in the cover up. He was fired for comments in a Rolling Stone magazine last week, instead of being investigated 6 years ago for his part in the Tillman cover-up. added by: rodstradamus

Katie Price’s new single, “Free to Love Again,” has been unleashed upon the world. It’s a record only Heidi Montag could love … or produce something worse than. Seriously, it’s as bad as you’d think, and the cover art is equally dreadful. Is that the result of Botox? Airbrushing? Too much makeup? We may never know. But we do know this for sure: If you listen here to her new song, you’ll LOL. FREE TO LOVE AGAIN : Katie Price is ready to love again … or something. Is her new single a reference to moving on from Peter Andre with Alex Reid ? Does anyone care?

T.I. Heading Into The Studio With Timbaland, Swizz Beatz

‘We got a few big, big, big sessions coming up next week,’ Tip tells MTV News. By Mawuse Ziegbe, with reporting by Kelly Marino T.I. Photo: MTV News T.I. is set to unleash his new album King Uncaged later this summer, and the big homie is making sure that he brings the heat with his latest effort. He’s already revealed that he’s been in the studio with Lady Gaga, Kid Rock and Eminem , but the King of the South recently told MTV News that he’s crafting additional tunes with some hitmakers. “We got a few big, big, big sessions coming up next week: Timbaland, Swizz Beatz,” T.I. told MTV News on Saturday. “I’m trying to show up and show out every time.” Tip also gave a progress update on the album. While he’s got dozens of tracks already in the can, he’s looking to make his new songs better than ever. “The album is coming along nicely. I’ve recorded about 85, 90 songs, and I’m still trying to top those records.” Earlier this year Swizz told MTV News that he was looking forward to working with T.I., but that he had to check out Tip’s post-jail mindset before getting started on new music for him. “His mind and his thought pattern before he went [to jail] is gonna be different from when he gets out,” Swizzy said. “That man has been in the penitentiary at a time that was the height of his career — he might come out and not wanna use curses no more. He might come out and use more curses. I don’t know. I can’t create the sound for Tip that’s based on ‘Swing Ya Rag’ and ‘Bring Em Out’ and all these things we’ve done unless it’s his plan. He’s gotta come out, [I] sit down with him, chill how we chill.” Who would you love to see collaborate with T.I.? Share your ideas in the comments. Related Artists T.I.

Incarcerated Young Money boss expresses gratitude to followers for their thoughts, gifts, prayers on WeezyThanxYou.com. By Jayson Rodriguez Lil Wayne Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage Lil Wayne posted the third letter to his fans on his website, WeezyThanxYou.com on Monday (June 28). The post follows Weezy’s Mother’s Day letter written last month and and initial note in April written when he first launched the site from prison to communicate with fans. In the new message, Wayne writes that he hopes his fans are enjoying their summer and profusely thanked everyone for their support, from the pictures he’s received to all the letters sent to him at the Eric M. Taylor detention center at New York’s Rikers Island. The rapper only gave a short update about his life behind bars, saying he was doing well. “On my end, I’m alive, breathing and blessed,” Wayne wrote. “You already know how I’m passing time — reading and working out.” The Young Money boss also gave a shout-out to his artists and said the collective had made him proud the night before, as both Drake and Nicki Minaj scored hardware Sunday night at the 2010 BET Awards . Wayne then went on to personally thank nearly 100 supporters who’ve written him letters of encouragement, responding to individuals, including Karla Moy, who runs Drake’s official fan website and Vanessa Satten, the editor of XXL magazine. “First, I thank you for your thoughts and prayers,” he wrote to followers Ashley and Lil Mackenzie. “I would also like you to know that your letter touched my heart. I wasn’t able to keep the wristbands but thank you anyway. Gudda and I send our deepest love to you and Lil Mack.” “Cool middle name,” Wayne told Kyle Rockin McLaughlin. “And I’ll be in W. Palm one day. Hope you’re there.” The rapper is almost halfway through his prison term and appears to be ready to get back to his career, as he told Satten he hopes to grace the cover of the magazine again soon; earlier this month the Cash Money Records superstar recorded a verse from prison for a remix of Drake’s “Light Up.” “Thank you for the love and I can’t wait to be on the cover again,” Wayne wrote. Adriana Lima Topless For V Magazine

This picture is pretty self explanatory if you ask me, Adriana Lima without her top on for the cover of V Magazine . I don’t know what V Magazine is, but someone should tell them that their stupid giant V is blocking my view of Adriana’s supermodel nipples. Not cool guys, if there was ever a time for a lower case v this would be it. Thanks for nothing.
