Take a good look at the pile of 80s remake effluvia that includes Red Dawn , Footloose and Robocop , and then throw another turd on the barbie: MGM has announced plans to remake the Child’s Play ‘s film series, starring Chucky the homicidal doll. Must we? No one will claim that the original Child’s Play was any great work of art, but is there any reason to update it and remake for today’s audience other than a stirring need for cash? Besides which, do kids today even play with dolls anymore? Shouldn’t it be about a demonic Nintendo DS that comes to life and starts snapping shut (demonically!) on people’s fingers? Brad Dourif, the original voice of Chucky, is slated to return, as is the creator of the whole series, Don Mancini, to write and possibly direct. Bobby Ray’s track comes in response to Tyler’s ‘Yonkers.’ By Jayson Rodriguez B.o.B Photo: Frank Mullen Not everyone is amused by the antics of Odd Future’s Tyler the Creator. B.o.B took aim at the upstart on Friday (March 25) with a fiery dis track titled “No Future,” a response to a line the California rapper issued on his breakout “Yonkers.” “What you think of Hayley Williams?/ F— her, Wolf Haley robbing ’em,” Tyler raps on the song. “I’ll crash that f—ing airplane that that f—-t n—a B.o.B is in/ And stab Bruno Mars in his goddamn esophagus.” The line is characteristic of Tyler and his crew’s shocking rhymes; the collective are, in part, inspired by Eminem and works like his Relapse album with its slew of serial-killer references. The “Airplanes” star, however, isn’t a fan. “If I was you I would be a little more cautious,” Bobby Ray raps on “No Future.” “I’m way too high for you to look at/ The future ain’t looking promising for these rookies/ This is target practice but I don’t even pull the f—ing trigger anymore, ’cause it’s just a waste of bullets/ Come and get this pu—, wipe them off the floor/ I’m guessing they was hoping for some different results/ I’m guessing they was guessing ’cause they wasn’t really sure/ But f— it, I guess I’mma have to let these n—–s know. “Keep f—ing with me, you ain’t gon have no future,” he concludes. Tyler responded via Twitter. Perhaps taking the high road after driving too close to the edge, the 20-year-old wrote that he didn’t think “No Future” was a dis track. He even gave B.o.B props on the rhyme. “Whoa,” he wrote in his first message. “I don’t think the ‘No Future’ song is even a diss. But I’ve never heard him spit like that. Took me by surprise, cus it’s tight.” A second message took a swipe at producer Alex Da Kid over “Airplanes” and “Love the Way You Lie” sounding too similar. From Kanye West to Kim Kardashian to nearly every teenage girl in the world, Bieber has amassed quite a dedicated following. But he seems to have picked a rather odd fan along the way as well. Odd Future’s Tyler, the Creator has Bieber Fever in a big way. In fact, hehas called the teenage Canuck his Idol. In the days leading up to the premiere of Bieber’s 3-D movie, “Never Say Never,” Tyler could be found online tweeting down the days until its release. So of course, when the two finally met Tyler was excited. “I WAS JUST WITH JUSITN F—ING BIEBER. F—,” Tyler tweeted . “HE LIKED YONKERS, F—.” Two photos emerged of the two together, one blurry and the other showing both teen sensations posing side-by-side. When MTV News caught up with Tyler — and the rest of Odd Future — at South by Southwest , he still had a huge smile on his face. “We [were] kicking it with him for like 10, 20 minutes. He’s a chill dude. First thing he was like, ‘Oh, I just finished talking about your video, that sh– was crazy,” Tyler said. “He just started asking me questions about my sh–, and it was kind of weird because I was going to ask him sh–. But he was intrigued enough [about] what we had going on.” He also said he showed the Biebs how to pose for their photo. Initially, Bieber threw up the peace sign, but Tyler convinced him to swag it out another way. The L.A. hip-hop clique’s frontman Tyler the Creator will drop his next solo album, Goblin, on May 10. While to date most of Odd Future’s music, including Tyler’s debut Bastard, was made available for free online, Goblin is being released via XL Recordings in a one-album deal.

His voice will be on full display when he and his Odd Future groupmates take the stage to perform at the 2011 mtvU Woodies on Wednesday night (March 16). But what fans may not know is that Tyler is also a producer. Along with MellowHype’s Left Brain, Tyler has produced a majority of Odd Future’s rich but brief catalog. A photo recently surfaced of Left Brain and Tyler in the studio with Chad Hugo and Pharrell Williams of the Neptunes. Both Left Brain and Tyler’s work is deeply influenced by the once-ubiquitous production duo, and Tyler has made no secret of their impact on his life, even tweeting about meeting with Pharrell.
