‘Twilight’ Trio Take Over People’s Choice Awards

Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart fly in from ‘Breaking Dawn’ set for awards show. By Terri Schwartz Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart onstage at the People’s Choice Awards Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images It wasn’t until an hour and a half into Wednesday night’s (January 5) People’s Choice Awards that the beloved “Twilight Saga” trio — Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner — finally made their appearance at the awards show, which meant fans unfortunately never got to find out whether Stewart would walk down the sapphire carpet with Pattinson, her rumored beau . But while the show began with a shutout for the “Twilight” stars, they ended up winning some of the biggest awards of the night, just as they did in 2010 . Johnny Depp won Favorite Male Movie Star for the fifth time in a row, beating both Lautner and Pattinson for the honor. Still sporting his “The Tourist” haircut, the favorite actor thanked his fans for the “stupefying honor” because it “comes from the people who keep us all here.” Zac Efron also bested both Stewart and Pattinson (and his ex-girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens ) as Favorite Movie Star Under 25, another surprising shutout. “What an honor it is to be nominated among my contemporaries,” Efron acknowledged, and thanked the connection he has with fans for keeping him around. But where were the “Twilight Saga” fans, infamous for their skills that allow “Twilight” to continuously sweep fan-voted awards shows? Turns out they were focusing their attention on getting Stewart the win for Favorite Movie Actress. The big three finally made their appearance more than three-quarters of the way into the show when Stewart accepted her big award. (By the way, it was Lautner — not Pattinson — who walked her to the stage.) It was Stewart’s first time at the People’s Choice Awards, and in true KStew style, it was clear the “Twilight Saga” star was uncomfortable onstage. But she was sure to thank her fans, giving them a bit of a tease from the set of “Breaking Dawn.” “We’re shooting ‘Breaking Dawn’ right now. It’s going really well; it’s really fun,” she said during her acceptance speech. Spoiler alert! “I was a vampire this morning in Baton Rouge, so it’s really weird.” Since it took the trio so long to show up to the awards show, host Queen Latifah wasn’t going to let them off the hook so easily. They were seated front and center, and Latifah put them on the spot with a list of “questions” directed at their characters. Example: If a wolf ate a vampire, but the vampire wasn’t dead, could the vampire eat the werewolf from the inside out? The awkward smile on Lautner’s face was all the answer we needed. But the awkwardness was all worth it when Latifah mistook Pattinson’s description of the “posh” airplane that they flew on from Baton Rouge for “plush.” Oh, those silly Brits! And “The Twilight Saga” ended the show with a bang, winning Favorite Movie, Favorite Drama Movie and Favorite Onscreen Team, presented by Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman. Pattinson beat Lautner and Stewart to the microphone, and Lautner threw some faux punches at his onscreen enemy. “Taylor wanted to go first, but I wanted him to go last,” Pattinson joked, then let Lautner proceed. “I can’t believe this! You guys are unreal,” Lautner gushed. “It still amazes me. For movie number three, ‘Eclipse,’ already, you guys have gotten us here today, but you guys have also given us the opportunity to, as Kristen said, be filming ‘Breaking Dawn.’ “I can’t wait for you guys to see it,” he continued. “Mark my words: The best is yet to come.” Stewart took the stage after him, adding to her previous acceptance speech, “I just want to thank our producer Wyck [Godfrey]. Dude, thank you so much, and everybody at Summit of course. And the fans.” Last but not least, Pattinson took to the mic amid deafening screams from the crowd. He said he couldn’t hear what either of his co-stars said in their speeches, but “can guarantee they both wrote speeches.” His spur-of-the-moment speech was short and sweet, saying, “Thank you so much for the fun, People’s Choice. Thank you so much for everything. It’s been a wonderful experience.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Michael Jackson Doctor Conrad Murray Didn’t Seem To Know CPR, Bodyguard Testifies

Jackson’s two oldest children were in bedroom witnessing drama, bodyguard Faheem Muhammed said. By Gil Kaufman Conrad Murray (file) Photo: AFP/ Getty Images One of the most shocking revelations to emerge from the first day of testimony in the pretrial hearing of former Michael Jackson doctor Conrad Murray is that as the pop icon lay dying in his rented Los Angeles mansion, cardiologist Murray asked in a panic, “Does anyone know CPR?” According to CNN , that’s what bodyguard Faheem Muhammed said on the stand. Tuesday was the first day of testimony in hearings aimed at determining whether there is enough evidence to try Murray on a felony count of involuntary manslaughter in the June 2009 death of the King of Pop. The hearing is slated to last around two weeks and feature 20 to 30 witnesses, most of whom will be medical professionals. But it was the shocking testimony of Muhammed on Tuesday that grabbed headlines. He said that he and fellow guard Alberto Alvarez walked in on a scene in which Murray was crouched next to the motionless body of Jackson and it appeared that the heart surgeon did not know how to give CPR. As they waited for paramedics to arrive, Muhammed said Murray stood next to Jackson’s bed and asked in a panicked voice if anyone else in the room knew how to administer the life-saving technique. “I looked at Alberto because we knew Dr. Murray was a heart surgeon, so we were shocked,” Muhammed said. When defense attorney Ed Chernoff asked whether Murray was asking for help because he was exhausted after staying up all night administering sleep aids to the chronically insomniac Jackson, Muhammed replied, “The way that he asked it is as if he didn’t know CPR.” He also said that he never witnessed Murray performing CPR on Jackson before paramedics arrived and that the singer’s two oldest children, Prince Michael and Paris, were in their father’s bedroom as the drama was unfolding. Among the Jackson family members in court on Tuesday to watch the proceedings were family matriarch Katherine, sister LaToya and brothers Randy and Jackie. Prosecutor David Walgren referred to Murray’s use of “ineffectual” CPR, which included using one hand while Jackson was on a soft bed, which is counter to recommended techniques. Walgren also told the judge in the case that medical experts would testify that Murray took “a number of actions” that “showed an extreme deviation from the standard of care,” after being hired to serve as Jackson’s personal physician in the lead-up to a series of comeback shows in England. The prosecutor also claimed that Murray waited at least 21 minutes to call an ambulance after he found Jackson unresponsive. “By all accounts, Michael Jackson was dead in the bedroom at 100 North Carolwood prior to the paramedics’ arrival,” Walgren said. The Los Angeles County coroner later determined that the singer died of “acute propofol intoxication,” saying the overdose of the surgical anesthetic and the combined effects of other sedatives caused his death. Chernoff has said that Murray administered propofol and other sedatives to Jackson in the hours before the pop star’s death, but not in quantities that “should have” caused his death. CNN reported that Murray’s defense team hinted that it would argue that Jackson was facing intense pressure over his upcoming 50-date This Is It comeback series of shows at London’s O2 Arena and that led to his demands for treatment to help his chronic insomnia. Also testifying on Tuesday was the director of the shows, Kenny Ortega, who described Jackson as “involved, active, participating” at his final rehearsal, which ended 12 hours before his death. That was very different from the out-of-it singer who could barely make it through rehearsals on June 19, six nights before his death. At a meeting called after Ortega sent Jackson home that night for some rest, the director described a scene in which Murray scolded him for cutting the rehearsal short. “Dr. Murray told me that this was not my responsibility, and he asked me not to act like a doctor or psychologist,” Ortega said. Murray has pleaded not guilty in the case, and according to a recent report, Walgren believes that the doctor’s lawyers may claim that Jackson self-administered the final, fatal dose of propofol and essentially killed himself after waking up in a panic from a fitful night of sleep. Testimony in the case will continue on Wednesday (January 5). Related Photos Michael Jackson: A Life In Photos Related Artists Michael Jackson

Lindsay Lohan Accuser Drops Charges

Police say they will look into the incident further. By Jocelyn Vena Lindsay Lohan Photo: Marsaili McGrath/ Getty Images After speaking out about a December 12 incident with Lindsay Lohan at the Betty Ford rehab facility, Dawn Holland has dropped her charges against the embattled starlet. The former rehab worker released a statement to TMZ noting that she wouldn’t pursue a case against Lohan. “Dawn will not continue to press charges against Lindsay, nor will she be assisting any further in the investigation or prosecution,” her lawyer, Kevin Davidson, said. Davidson continued that “a crime has quite simply not been committed by Ms. Lohan.” Holland is reportedly a recovering addict herself and does not want “in any way, shape or form to do anything that would violate Lindsay’s probation or cause an arrest.” E! News reports that while Holland may not be pursuing charges, the Palm Desert Police Department is keeping an investigation into the incident open. “We are continuing our investigation,” the spokeswoman said. “We hope to be done sometime in January.” When asked how Holland would respond if subpoenaed by the police department, her lawyer simply responded “she won’t.” Holland was a technician at the Betty Ford Center and was fired shortly after she gave a video interview in which she discussed the alleged altercation. “She was the only patient out of the three who was being very uncooperative and out of control,” Holland said in the video, explaining that Lohan had been acting defiant at the rehab center. “I did not touch the woman! I am not willing to risk my job over any patient.” Related Videos Lindsay Lohan: Crime And Punishment Related Photos Lindsay Lohan Goes To Court The Highs And Lows Of Lindsay Lohan Related Artists Lindsay Lohan
