The Hutaree Militia

Seven people from an end-times* focused Christian militia group called The Hutaree were arrested last night for selling pipe bombs. Here's some video of them running around like a bunch of schoolboys pretending to be soldiers. Taken, fittingly, from their MySpace page . Christian Militants Attacked by FBI and Gay Sex Pics [Jesusfreaks]

A militant, Midwestern Christian group called the “Hutaree” was reportedly the target of government raids this weekend. Their leader, Raddock “RD” Merzonick, was arrested, and now, their web site is being attacked by internet trolls armed with gay porn. Like most modern extremist groups, the Hutaree has their own web site and messageboard. One of their online forums is solely dedicated to discussing “being an evil Jew and how we are taking over the world.” According to a post on the Hutaree board written by Merzonick, Hutaree means “Christian warrior.” After the FBI raids on Sunday, someone identifying themselves as “Anna” posted a cry for help on the Hutaree web site: The Federal Authorities have raided not only our group but also the Michigan Militia . They have hijacked their website and placed word there that they were not raided. We need some help please. This has to stop. I am enroute south with my children using the wifi’s as I can. They were catching others as they came to their rallying points, they broke into homes and took children and used the tasers on wives, my son who is 12 and I got out by crawling through the creeks behind our house. My husband and others are taken, please call the press and tell them, if any in the Michigan Militia is still free please rally with them. Please help. We tried emailing Anna, but as of this writing, haven’t received a response. Presumably, she no longer has access to “the wifi’s.” We did speak with Michael Lackomar who described himself as the Livingston County team leader of the Southeast Michigan Volunteer Militia. Lackomar, who talked to us in between conversations with other media outlets and a trip to the White Castle, said his group wasn’t involved in the raids. Lackomar told us that he’s the one who posted a bulletin on the Michigan Militia web site that said, “Neither MichiganMilitia.com or the SMVM have been ‘raided’ by the FBI. We do nothing illegal.” Lackomar described “Anna’s” comment as “false information” and said that even other militia groups viewed the Hutaree as dangerous wild cards. “me and my unit leader had this discussion earlier where if it had been any other unit we’d have been like ‘no way’ but with this group you just dont know,” he said. Lackomar said the Southeast Michigan Volunteer Militia has trained with the Hutaree “on two occasions that I can remember, possibly a third.” He told us that the SMVM is an all-inclusive organization dedicated to upholding the Second Amendment and helping the community “in times of trouble, disaster, mayhem” while the Hutaree is a Christian, militant, apocalyptic, survivalist group. “They are very religiously driven, they believe that it is their duty to prepare to assist Jesus Christ when he returns and do battle with the forces of Satan,” he said. For now, the feds are being tight-lipped about the weekend’s militia raids. Last night, a spokesperson for the FBI’s Detroit field office told us, “the warrants are sealed and no comment can be made at this time… I can only confirm that there was law enforcement activity in the Lenawee and Washtenaw counties.” Reportedly , the raids involved FBI and ATF agents in Ohio, Indiana and Michigan and resulted in the arrest of at least seven militia members who were involved in making and selling pipe bombs . Lackomar said his sources told him about raids occurred in Michigan at a wake for a member of the Hutaree who recently died and at the house of RD Merzonick , who he described as the group’s leader. Lackomar said he hasn’t “heard of” any Hutaree members being involved with pipe bombs. We sent emails to Merzonick and several other Hutaree members, but have yet to receive a response. As news of the raids spread, the Hutaree’s web site was overwhelmed by internet trolls posting gay porn pictures and sacreligious Jesus photoshops. Amid all the pictures of penises and Christ in bondage gear, someone calling themselves “David” posted this ominous message: “Pay attention to the searches going on right now. Lots of men are in the backwoods at the moment. Bunkers exist that’ll keep a few for months.” They may be under attack now, but if David is right, we haven’t heard the last of the Hutaree. Update: The U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan just released the indictment revealing the names of the nine people arrested in the raids against the Hutaree and the charges against them— apparently, this militia was a family affair. The indictment describes David Brian Stone, (A.K.A. RD Merzonick, Joe Stonewall, and Captain Hutaree) as the “principal leader” of the Hutaree. Stone was indicted along with his 19 and 21-year-old sons and his wife Tina. Along with the five other Hutaree members the Stones are accused of planning to “kill an unidentified member of local law enforcement and then attack the law enforcement officers who gather in Michigan for the funeral” using “Improvised Explosive Devices with Explosively Formed Projectiles.” According to the press release from the U.S. Attorneys office, “eight of the nine defendants are in custody.”

Diary of a Madman: Meet Justin Massler, Ivanka Trump’s Stalker [Crime]

A 27-year-old Reno native named Justin Massler was arrested yesterday for stalking Ivanka Trump . News reports have described Massler as an obsessed fan with “a crush” on the socialite/heiress. His vicious tweets and violent comics suggest otherwise. Massler’s Twitter account has been deleted, but a cached version contains a string of angry messages directed at Trump. On March 2nd, Ivanka posted a photo of herself at an event for the launch of the UN Foundation’s Girl Up campaign. Massler responded with 14 tweets calling Trump “a diseased elitist and part of the problem” and saying her work with the UN was “as bad as appointing Hitler to head a charity for Jewish Hospitals.” He also vowed to “destroy your entire jewelry enterprises with a brand destruction media campaign.” Back in February, before he started sending her nasty messages on Twitter, Massler created the ” Ivanka Trump Fan Blog .” The blog only contains two entries. The first is a fawning ode to Ivanka that references her “intensely alluring beauty and impossibly shapely figure” and ends with a love poem. A few hours later, Massler put up a second post featuring a bizarre comic illustrating what would befall him if Ivanka denied his overture. Massler’s deleted tweets, comics and poetry are below.

Hacker Disables More Than 100 Cars Remotely

More than 100 drivers in Austin, Texas found their cars disabled or the horns honking out of control, after an intruder ran amok in a web-based vehicle-immobilization system normally used to get the attention of consumers delinquent in their auto payments. Police with Austin’s High Tech Crime Unit on Wednesday arrested 20-year-old Omar Ramos-Lopez, a former Texas Auto Center employee who was laid off last month, and allegedly sought revenge by bricking the cars sold from the dealership’s four Austin-area lots “We initially dismissed it as mechanical failure,” says Texas Auto Center manager Martin Garcia. “We started having a rash of up to a hundred customers at one time complaining. Some customers complained of the horns going off in the middle of the night. The only option they had was to remove the battery.” The dealership used a system called Webtech Plus as an alternative to repossessing vehicles that haven’t been paid for. Operated by Cleveland-based Pay Technologies, the system lets car dealers install a small black box under vehicle dashboards that responds to commands issued through a central website, and relayed over a wireless pager network. The dealer can disable a car’s ignition system, or trigger the horn to begin honking, as a reminder that a payment is due. The system will not stop a running vehicle. Texas Auto Center began fielding complaints from baffled customers the last week in February, many of whom wound up missing work, calling tow trucks or disconnecting their batteries to stop the honking. The troubles stopped five days later, when Texas Auto Center reset the Webtech Plus passwords for all its employee accounts, says Garcia. Then police obtained access logs from Pay Technologies, and traced the saboteur’s IP address to Ramos-Lopez’s AT&T internet service, according to a police affidavit filed in the case. Ramos-Lopez’s account had been closed when he was terminated from Texas Auto Center in a workforce reduction last month, but he allegedly got in through another employee’s account, Garcia says. At first, the intruder targeted vehicles by searching on the names of specific customers. Then he discovered he could pull up a database of all 1,100 Auto Center customers whose cars were equipped with the device. He started going down the list in alphabetical order, vandalizing the records, disabling the cars and setting off the horns. “Omar was pretty good with computers,” says Garcia. The incident is the first time an intruder has abused the no-start system, according to Jim Krueger, co-owner of Pay Technologies. “It was a fairly straightforward situation,” says Krueger. “He had retained a password, and what happened was he went in and created a little bit of havoc.” Krueger disputes that the horns were honking in the middle of the night; he says the horn honking can only be activated between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. First rolled out about 10 years ago, remote immobilization systems are a controversial answer to delinquent car payments, with critics voicing concerns that debtors could suffer needless humiliation, or find themselves stranded during an emergency. Proponents say the systems let financers extend credit to consumers who might otherwise be ineligible for an auto loan. Austin police filed computer intrusion charges against Ramos-Lopez on Tuesday. http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2010/03/hacker-bricks-cars/ added by: pjacobs51

Lauren Conrad Designs Clothes, Writes Books, ‘Doesn’t Sleep Much’

‘It’s all about fitting it into your schedule,’ she says of juggling her many tasks. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Larry Carroll Lauren Conrad Photo: MTV News Lauren Conrad is a very busy lady. With a fashion brand and best-selling novels with a movie adaptation in the works , what’s the key to LC’s success? Time management. “Well, I meet up with the team several times a month and we have lots of conference calls,” she said about how she manages to design her line while writing her “L.A. Candy” books as well as producing the film version. “It’s just something I’m doing throughout the day. It’s all about fitting it into your schedule. I don’t sleep much.” She also juggles her duties, writing some days and designing clothes during others. “Well, they’re all different. There are days when I spend my entire day writing. There’s days like today where I’m dealing with the [fashion] line all day,” she explained. “I’ve always loved fashion. It’s always been my number one, but I’m really enjoying all the different things I’m getting to do right now.” So is LC going to add any new projects to her already busy schedule? The answer, for now, is no. “I like where I’m at right now,” she said. “I think I’m at a good place where I’ll see all those [projects] through.” For now, Conrad has hooked up with department store Kohl’s for her LC by Lauren Conrad clothing brand — if fans have always admired the former “Hills” star’s laid-back, girly sense of style, now they can achieve the look. “It’s very much a California brand. It’s all about incorporating new trends and putting our own twist on it — relaxed cool without trying too hard,” she told MTV News at a press event for the line, adding that there’s a piece in her collection for every occasion.

The rapper said he wants to keep street rap in the spotlight. “I put that title on the mixtape because I wanted something to stand out,” Alley said. (Mission accomplished.) “Just to be different. The topics I went in on, it’s a lot of things people would call negative. My whole image, it seems it’s so negative. I went there with it. I feel that those words definitely represent my attitude. It’s so watered down in Atlanta right now. I wanted to let folks know I’m a force to be reckoned with. I wanted a strong concept and strong title.” He also has a story behind his MC name: “I’m from Zone Six.
