After what appeared to be a relatively fluid and graceful foxtrot last night on the Dancing With the Stars season premiere , Kirstie Alley received surprisingly tough scores from the judges. Fortunately, she found something positive to focus on: Tom Bergeron’s face. Kirstie Alley – Dancing With the Stars Week 1 In what has to be the longest kiss in the history of Dancing With the Stars (which is saying something), Alley laid one on the host, who won a Primetime Emmy award the previous evening. Skip ahead to the 4:30 mark above, and hope that voters reward Kirstie and Maksim Chmerkovskiy for this effort. It’s worth at least another point or two on top of her original 19.
Kirstie Alley has lost a tremendous amount of weight . There’s no denying that fact. But it’s how the actress dropped nearly 100 pounds that is at the center of a new lawsuit against her. A California resident has filed suit against Alley because she doesn’t believe the star actually shed pounds using Organic Liaison, a product Alley shills for online and on QVC. Instead, the plaintiff thinks Alley simply followed a low-calorie diet and practiced a lot for Dancing with the Stars . Organic Liaison? It’s nothing but fiber and calcium, the legal documents allege. Alley is being sued for unspecified damages in a case similar to that of Kim Kardashian and QuikTrim , as that reality star has also come under legal fire for assertions that she lost weight due to that supplement. A week ago, Kirstie Alley fell to the floor, only to make a full recovery on Dancing With the Stars. Unfortunately, she suffered another mishap last night. This time, it was a footwear malfunction. Kirstie and Maksim Chmerkovskiy had to fight through more adversity as Alley’s left shoe fell off in mid-waltz. Just like the previous week, they recovered well enough to earn a respectable score – 22 out of 30 – plus sympathy and respect from fans and judges. Kirstie Alley Loses Shoe on Dancing With the Stars “You didn’t miss a beat,” said Carrie Ann Inaba. Bruno Tonioli agreed, while Len Goodman was less impressed, pointing out the need for improvement. Still, we’d be surprised if Kirstie and Maks were in jeopardy after a second straight week of bouncing back strongly from a somewhat freakish setback. Another gal who should be safe? Disney starlet Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas, whose Viennese waltz earned them the top score of the night at 26. Both of those couples notched scores of 25. Len grumbled about Chelsea’s unorthodox choreography, but technically, the judges could not deny that Kane’s was the best dance of the night. At the bottom of the heap and definitely at risk of elimination tonight are Kendra Wilkinson and Louis van Amstel, who bombed with an 18.
