See original here:

Election Day is over and it’s time to put action behind the words each candidate spoke of. Jeff Johnson mentioned that this is the highest voter turn out that we’ve ever seen for the mid-term elections. Over 113 million people came out to do their civic duty and he’s so proud of all of them. Sign Up For Our Newsletter! Close Thank you for subscribing! This shift means Democrats will have more control over checks and balances against Donald Trump . Jeff believes that Maxine Waters will hold the chair of the finance committee. Jeff said, “Prepare to get stuff done.” Lastly, another win was the fact that Florida passed the law that allows ex-felons to vote. Jeff mentioned Florida could’ve used those votes for Election Day, but it will make a difference in the future. See more about voter suppression on Election Day below. 90 Day Fiance: Nicole and Azan Want to Make a Baby!!

Earlier this year, 90 Day Fiance stars Azan Tefou and Nicole Nafziger canceled their wedding . But that doesn’t mean that they’ve ended their relationship. And now Nicole has revealed their plans for the future. How many (more) kids do they plan to have? Nicole and Azan are still trying to make their long-distance relationship work. But that hasn’t stopped them from planning for their future as a married couple. Recently, Nicole took to Instagram and answered fan questions. “How many kids do you and Azan planning on having?” a fan asked. “We want to add two more to our family!,” Nicole replied. “So 3 including May.” She followed that answer with a red heart emoji. (The fan wrote “Hassan,” a fairly popular name, rather than “Azan,” which was a simple accident) Nicole already has a daughter from her previous relationship. May is adorable and Nicole has said that she had no relationship with her baby daddy. That baby daddy’s identity remains shrouded in mystery, and it sounds like Nicole is just fine with that. In fact, Azan is the only father figure that May knows. Nicole has even received backlash for having May call him “daddy.” It is true that Azan lives something like 4,000 miles away. But May has seen Azan in Morocco. It appears that the two have really bonded. It’s understandable for fans to be uncertain about whether Nicole and Azan can make it work. Some objected to her calling him “daddy” simply because he is not her biological father. That, of course, is toxic. Plenty of adopted children call their parents or step-parents “mom” or “dad.” Calling a parent by nicknames like that is normal and healthy. Some fan reservations arise from Nicole and Azan’s struggles to make it work. As we mentioned, they had plans to marry in June. Ultimately, they decided that an expensive Moroccan wedding was not the most responsible use of money. Instead, Nicole invested the money that she saved up while working at Starbucks … by giving it to Azan. Azan is going to invest that money in a storefront in order to open up a beauty shop in his hometown. The hope is that this will give them financial security in the future. It has been months since they reached this decision. Since then, Nicole had to return to the United States. Azan remains in Morocco. There has not yet been any word about when this beauty shop of his will open. That doesn’t mean that it’s not happening, of course. We’re not intimiately familiar with the timetable for opening a business in Morocco. Hopefully, Azan is. Some fans have concerns that Nicole is being conned. That seems unfair. If that were the case, surely Azan would have ghosted her by now. (And it’s hard to imagine that he would have been willing to go on reality television if he’s just a con artist) Also, Nicole isn’t rich — she’s a barista and a single mom. A more realistic fear, we suppose, would be that they’ll break up and she’ll have lost all of that money. We hope that all of her hard work doesn’t go to waste. For her sake and for May’s. Whitey Bulger, Notorious Mobster, Found Dead in Prison

Whitey Bulger, one of the most notorious gangsters in American history, was found dead at 8:20 a.m. on Tuesday inside U.S. Penitentiary Hazelton in West Virginia. He was 89 years old. According to TMZ and other outlets, Bulger had only just been moved to this facility, after having been spending his life sentence behind bars in Florida. He was transferred briefly to Oklahoma City last week and had only just recently arrived in Hazelton shortly before his murder. Bulger had manage to evade federal authorities for more than 16 years prior to his arrest in June 2011. He was found guilty in 2013 for his role in 11 murders, although it is believed he took part in many more than that. In November of that same year, Bulger was sentenced to two life terms plus five years for his role as architect of a criminal enterprise that, in the words of a federal judge, committed “unfathomable” acts that terrorized a city. Overall, Bulger was found guilty at the time on 31 counts, including racketeering, extortion, money laundering, drug dealing and weapons possession. “The testimony of human suffering that you and your associates inflicted on others was at times agonizing to hear and painful to watch,” US District Court Judge Denise Casper said at the crime boss’ sentencing, adding: “At times, I wish we were watching a movie, that what we were hearing was not real. “But as the families of victims know all too well, it’s not a movie.” Bulger’s life was documented on the big screen on multiple occasions, however. Most famously, Johnny Depp portrayed Bulger himself in the 2015 film Black Mass. It’s also widely assumed that Jack Nicholson’s character in The Departed was based on Bulger. Johnny Depp is pictured here as Whitey Bulger. Details regarding Bulger’s death remain almost entirely unknown at this time. A union official for correctional officers at the high-security prison told WV News there was a homicide at the facility, yet couldn’t say whether it was Bulger. Hank Brennan, Bulger’s lawyer, told BuzzFeed News, he couldn’t “confirm or deny it at this point.” “The Federal Bureau of Investigation was notified and an investigation has been initiated. No staff or other inmates were injured, and at no time was the public in danger,” the Bureau of Prisons said in a statement. An original photo released by the FBI in 1984 depicts James “Whitey” Bulger. In 2016, auctioned items seized from Bulger’s Santa Monica, California, apartment raised almost $110,000 to compensate victims’ families. He was born on September 3, 1929, in Dorchester, Massachusetts. Bulger had a son with a waitress and former model named Lindsey Cyr, but he died at the age of six from Reye syndrome after having an allergic reaction to an aspirin injection in 1973. We hope he does not rest in any kind of peace. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2018: In Memoriam

Former American Idol Star Busted for Heroin Distribution

Antonella Barba was maybe the most controversial contestant in American Idol history. And not much has changed for the former singer many years later. According to TMZ and other outlets, the Season 6 near- finalist was arrested on Thursday morning and charged with a felony. She is being held in jail without bond because she allegedly tried to sell over 100 grams of heroin. Yes, heroin . Not many other details are available at the moment, but Barba is looking at significant jail time if this really is the crime she is accused of committing and if she is found guilty. Here is her mug shot, courtesy of the Norfolk Sheriff’s Department; Despite finishing just outside the Top 12 on Season 6, Barba made numerous headlines in 2007 for a very different kind of scandal in which she found herself. She gained notoriety for posing in a wet t-shirt in the fountain of the World War II Memorial in D.C. — and also for allegedly having photos taken of her while she gave someone oral sex. Barba continued to be voted on to subsequent rounds during her run on Idol, stirring up quite a debate over whether she was earning the favor of viewers for her singing talent… … or for these more lewd and explicit exploits. We’ve blurred out the most private part of this photo, but here’s one of the pictures that got Barba in trouble back in the day: She was also arrested for shoplifting in New York City in 2011. She was charged with two misdemeanors at the time. Still, the following year, Barba appeared on an episode of Fear Factor. She has also acted in a number of short films since… had a small role in 2017’s All About the Money… and, earlier this year, she appeared on a “Where Are They Now?” segment on Jimmy Kimmel Live! No one from Barba’s camp has commented on her arrest just yet. In related news… Fellow American Idol alum Haley Reinhart, – who also appeared on this same Jimmy Kimmel Live! segment- was arrested on one count of battery after getting into a bar fight in Chicago last year. Reinhart was found guilty in February. However, the judge agreed to strike the conviction from her record if she has no run-ins with the law in the next two years. We’ll update this story with more news as it breaks. As far as we know, Barba remains behind bars right now, pending an upcoming hearing. Let’s hope she turns her life around.

‘HTGAWM’ Recap: Nate Digs Up Another Bone From Bonnie’s Graveyard Of Secrets

More here:

Source: Joshua Blanchard / Getty How to Get Away With Murder picks up back at Connor and Oliver’s wedding. We’re in the bathroom with Bonnie and Michaela. Michaela is lowkey freaking out about the blood on Bonnie’s leg and asks whose blood it is. Bonnie says, “Relax, I cut myself shaving,” as calmly as she can, but we all know what universe this is and we know Bonnie is lying. Now we cut back two months before that. Nate is still trying as hard as he can to see who the woman is, in the surveillance photo he has, kidnapping baby Gabriel. He zooms in and it looks a lot like Bonnie. Meanwhile, Annalise is giving a lecture to her students detailing the traits of a psychopath. This relates to her new client, Niles Harrington, a wealthy CEO accused of murdering his business partner. Niles is a controversial character who wrote a book called, “The CEO Psychopath,” and not a lot of people are fond of him in general. Obviously, the book isn’t flying too well in court, so the prosecutor is running with the whole psychopath angle. However, Annalise is on it because that’s what she does. She’s working co-counsel with her boss, but so far so good. That is until one of the witnesses, Nile’s secretary, changes a statement she made earlier which makes her look shady. As a result, Annalise is pushing to try to pin this crime on her. Niles doesn’t want to (because she wouldn’t hurt a fly according to him) but we know how Annalise does. In related news, Asher is interning at the DA’s office for prosecutor Ron Miller, who just so happens to be the prosecutor on Annalise’s case. As a result of Asher being salty that Annalise didn’t accept him into her clinic, he tells Miller what Annalise’s next move would be (pinning it on the secretary), and convinces Miller to believe him. That’s not hard give that has spent so much time with Annalise. Later on, Miller tries to make a deal with Annalise that could help both of them out, but in the end, Annalise decides not to take it because it would screw her boss over. Eventually, Annalise thinks Niles killed his associate because he was sleeping with his wife and then we get to the plot twist. Nile’s wife killed the associate but he refuses to let her go down for it and legit threatens to kill them before he allows either of them to blow up his wife’s spot. So, the next defense play is saying that Nile’s business partner accidentally killed himself by asphyxiation. There’s a belt in question here, so they have the secretary try it on and it fits. Niles tries it on and it doesn’t fit, and you already know he just had to make an OJ Simpson reference: “If it doesn’t fit you must acquit!” That outburst is just one of a couple of instances that demonstrate the arrogance that makes people not like this man. Annalise put together a stunning but the jury still finds Niles Harrington guilty. Annalise, her boss, Niles, and his wife are all looking like… Niles mentions that it’s because the jury hates him and has bias due to the book. This is true because it really seemed like he was about to get off. Annalise still tries to convince him to turn his wife in because she only killed his business associate because she was worried about the money she would lose if he left the company but Niles won’t do it. He’s too soft and pink for her. The only hope now is a retrial due to bias and that’s that for now. Nate finds the attending nurse who was present on the night the baby was kidnapped and gets her to talk. Basically, Bonnie’s father was trying to leave the baby to become a ward of the state (because it was the product of him sexually exploiting his teenage daughter) but Bonnie later on panicked and said she had a change of heart and that she wanted to do the right thing but her dad wouldn’t let her be great. Nate shows her the photo of Bonnie and the woman confirms that issa match! So, we can assume Bonnie kidnapped her own baby and the nurse allowed it to happen because she also felt like she was doing the right thing. Nate takes this information to Annalise and says he didn’t want to say anything until he had receipts. Annalise starts shaking her head because it turns out that Bonnie didn’t kidnap her baby. It was Bonnie’s sister. PLOT TWIST! And now we cut back to Connor and Oliver’s wedding. This is after the bathroom incident so Bonnie (or possibly her sister) is back in the crowd. Michaela is back in the crowd but she keeps glancing at Bonnie/Bonnie’s sister because something doesn’t feel right and Oliver is being called to the dance floor but he’s missing. Yeah, we’re all confused! Is this Bonnie’s twin or are they supposed to be the type of sister that just look a hell of a lot alike? Wanessa Milhomem Titties of the Day

Wanessa Milhomem is some Brazilian model, even though her name is Wanessa, which you’d think would make her some kind of Polish or Eastern European sex worker, who moved to LA and pretends she’s a model, in order to hang around rich people, who like to hang around hot chicks, who are willing to get naked… And I guess she could be, I mean there are definitely Eastern Europeans in South America thanks to World War 2…hiding out with their Nazi War Crime… As it turns out, you don’t need to be an Eastern European woman to get ahead in life as a sex worker, Brazilians are capable of it too, and really anyone with a vagina who is skinny and willing to get on camera can pretend to be a model hard enough for some rich dude to buy into her and think she’s legit…I mean just cuz people are rich doesn’t mean they can distinguish a whore, or even care if a whore is a whore as long as they get their dick sucks and can do what they want. The point is that “model” and sex worker, as you know are interchangeable. We’ll call them hot girls who like rich dudes and who get naked in photos to get them…that’s what it’s about…. Here’s Wanessa Milhomem….living that brown Malibu Barbie life… The post Wanessa Milhomem Titties of the Day appeared first on DrunkenStepFather.com .

Man Wrongfully Convicted Of Murder Advocates For Reading In Prisons

A fter spending nearly three decades behind bars for a crime that he didn’t commit, a Brooklyn native is turning the pain from his experience into something positive. John Bunn , 41, is advocating for education in prisons and launched a program that provides inmates with books, CNN reported. John Bunn was wrongfully convicted of murder as a teenager and exonerated after 27 years of fighting for his freedom. He says the power of reading saved him. Now, he's building libraries in prisons. https://t.co/Xt7iFmbIGI pic.twitter.com/zdjnFVXQaA — CNN (@CNN) September 15, 2018 In August of 1991—when Bunn was 14-years-old—police officers came to his Crown Heights apartment and took him to the 77th precinct for questioning in relation to the murder of a Rikers Island corrections officer, the news outlet writes. Although Bunn told officers that he had nothing to do with the crime, he was put in a line up with adults, wrongly identified as the individual responsible for the murder, and placed behind bars. He was charged with murder and robbery and sentenced to nine years to life. From that day on, he and his family tirelessly fought for justice. Going to prison was a tough journey for Bunn. He reportedly dealt with abusive guards who he claims attacked him because of the nature of his case. He developed depression and anxiety. Bunn struggled to communicate with his family while he was imprisoned because he was illiterate. That barrier motivated him to learn how to read and write. He started reading children’s books and dictionaries and worked with teachers to develop his skills. That experience fueled his passion for education and he then went on to get his GED in prison. Reading became an escape from his situation. “I wrote my mother one day … and I said, “They can lock my body, but they can’t trap my mind,” he told CNN. “The power of reading made me feel that way. I felt trapped without a voice for so long, but the power of reading could take my imagination, and take me to anywhere in this universe.” In May 2018—with the help of a non-profit called the Exoneration Initiative—he was exonerated. Shortly after being released from prison, Bunn launched his own non-profit called A Voice 4 The Unheard. Through the organization, he’s focusing on growing the libraries at Riker’s Island and putting literature into underserved schools. His organization has donated over 20,000 books. “There’s no greater feeling than me feeling like I’m existing for a purpose, and this is what gives my life purpose right now. Through my nightmare, I found my dream,” he said. Organization’s like Bunn’s are needed. According to the Literacy Project Foundation , three out of five people in U.S. prisons have trouble reading. SMH: Shots Fired In The Parking Lot Of Nipsey Hussle’s Crenshaw Clothing Store

Neilson Barnard/Getty Images for BET Shots Fire Outside Of Nipsey Hussle’s Clothing Store Nipsey Hussle is reportedly in New York City to attend the Diamond Ball. But while the rapper is on the East Coast, a serious situation went down at his Crenshaw clothing establishment. A fight reportedly almost turned deadly as shots were fired in the parking lot of Hussle’s The Marathon Clothing store in Los Angeles, California on Friday (September 14). Witnesses tell  TMZ  that a huge fight broke out in the parking lot of the store. During the alleged brawl, one of the people involved pulled out a gun and fired a couple shots into the air in an attempt to stop the melee. Those involved then proceeded to disperse from the scene before police finally arrived. Authorities showed up a short time later and discovered blood in the parking lot. According to the report, they questioned employees inside the store who did not offer any information that would assist in solving the crime. Police are hoping to review security footage in an effort to pinpoint a suspect. The rapper’s clothing store is only one of his attempts at making sure to bring business to his beloved hometown. Back in February, he partnered with Vector90 and the District 8 Los Angeles City Council to launch a coworking space in South Los Angeles. Only a month later, he was part of an investment team that put in a bid to purchase a historic Los Angeles hotel. As of now, no one has been arrested in the shooting at The Marathon Clothing.

Two Men Facing 10 Years In Prison For Charge Of Hate Crime Against Black Man

More:

T wo white men may go to jail for 10 years after being accused of assaulting a Black man in Maine. A federal grand jury in the state indicted them over the alleged hate crime, according to a  Justice Department release made public on Monday (Aug. 27). RELATED:  In A Rare Legal Move, Maine Charges 2 White Men With A Hate Crime Maurice Diggins , 34, and Dusty Leo , 27, both of Biddeford, Maine, were formally charged with conspiracy to violate and for violating the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, DOJ Acting Assistant Attorney General John Gore and United States Attorney Halsey B. Frank  for the District Of Maine said. A conviction for the hate crime charge can carry up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine; the conspiracy charge can carry five years in prison and the same fine amount. Two Maine men were indicted on federal hate crime charges this week. They stand accused of assaulting a man, taunting him with a racial slur, and following him in their truck. https://t.co/NyNDvfTwc2 via @PressHerald — Documenting Hate (@DocumentHate) August 28, 2018 Diggins and Leo appeared in the U.S. District Court in Portland Monday — months after they were alleged to have assaulted an unidentified man. The men had “willfully caused bodily injury” to an African-American man in a 7-Eleven convenience store parking lot in Biddeford on April 15 because of the man’s race, according to the indictment. The defendants allegedly drove a truck at a fast speed into the lot while the victim was walking outside the store. Diggins exited the vehicle and repeatedly referred to the victim as a racial slur; he also blocked the victim from entering the store. Leo then walked behind the man and struck him forcefully in the head. The two then allegedly followed and shouted racial slurs at the victim as he ran away, the indictment said. Both the FBI and Biddeford Police Department investigated the incident. Diggins “adamantly denied” any wrongdoing, his attorney told  The Associated Press.
