Betty White On Scarlett Johansson/ Sandra Bullock Kiss: ‘To Each His Own!’

‘Anywhere you’re near Sandra Bullock, you’re in good shape!’ her ‘Proposal’ co-star says backstage at MTV Movie Awards. By Jocelyn Vena Betty White leaving the Gibson at the 2010 Movie Awards Photo: MTV News While it was Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s kiss that had Twilighters salivating on Sunday (June 6), another MTV Movie Awards kiss ended up stealing the show. When MTV Generation Award honoree Sandra Bullock hit the stage to accept her award, she and presenter Scarlett Johansson — on hand as a proxy of sorts for her hubby and Bullock’s “The Proposal” co-star Ryan Reynolds — decided to kiss, surprising everyone with a reenactment of Bullock’s lip-lock with Meryl Streep at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards earlier this year. So, was Bullock’s “The Proposal” co-star Betty White , who was also onstage to pay tribute, jealous that she wasn’t the one locking lips? “No! To each his own!” White told MTV News, when we caught up with her backstage at the Gibson Amphitheatre. “Anywhere you’re near Sandra Bullock, you’re in good shape!” Betty showed off her great comic timing during her homage to the actress. “You are grace defined and I adore you madly,” the “Golden Girls” star said of working together in the 2009 romantic comedy. “Our sex scenes were cut for theatrical release,” White lamented, “but don’t worry, everyone can see them on the unrated DVD. Sandy, you are a national treasure, which I know a thing or two about since my ovaries were recently named historical monuments.” Then, despite professing to be a huge fan of Bullock’s works, the legendary comedian went on to prove she actually knew very little about the actress’ oeuvre, describing Bullock’s Oscar-winning turn in “The Blind Side” as her “daring and race-bending portrayal of Stevie Wonder.” White and Johansson were also joined onstage by Bullock’s “All About Steve” co-star Bradley Cooper. “You’re a once-in-a-generation talent,” Cooper said. “You inspire me with the ability to shine through any darkness, and congratulations on this award.” Relive the wildest, funniest and most-jaw-dropping moments of the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, watch revealing red-carpet interviews and get exclusive movie clips after the show at MovieAwards.MTV.com.
