Hank Williams Jr. on President Obama: We’ve Got a Muslim President and We Hate Him!

Ah, Hank Williams Jr. Guy really needs to join fellow musicians Ted Nugent and Dave Mustaine on a Anti-Obama Conspiracy Tour 2012. The sound bites would be incredible. At his concert Friday night at the Iowa State Fair – where Obama bought beers earlier in the week – Williams absolutely laid into the President on stage. What did he say, exactly? Following Williams’ song “We Don’t Apologize For America” a chant of “U-S-A, U-S-A, U-S-A” broke out amongst the crowd, according to the Des Moines Register . Hank told the crowd he was their mouthpiece, and said, “We’ve got a Muslim president who hates farming, hates the military, hates the US and we hate him!” The cheers that followed were loud and enthusiastic. A hard-line Republican, Williams was fired by ESPN last fall after dropped after he made similarly offensive comments about President Obama last year. Amazingly, Hank’s belief that Barack is Muslim (he’s Christian) is only the second most absurd thing we’ve heard a musician say about him this week. Did you guys know Obama staged the Aurora shooting ?!? [Photos: WENN.com]

My name is Megan, I’m from Long Island and I’m 15…

My name is Megan, I’m from Long Island and I’m 15 years old. My friend Joli and I had always wanted to meet Justin, and since he would be in the city all week we made it a priority that we would at least see him. On Wednesday, June 20th, my dad, my step mom Joli, and I, drove into the city to go to the Z100 studios. We drove around all of NYC for 4 hours looking for the studio. We tried calling, texting, and asking random people on the street if anyone knew where they were and no one knew. We all thought we weren’t ever going to find it. Joli felt the need to call z100 and see if they would answer. As we were about to leave the city, a guy named Trey (@ItsTreyMorgan) answered the phone and gave us directions on how to get to the studio! We finally arrived at the studio at around 11 pm. I was SO happy that we finally made it. My step mom left, and my dad stayed with me and my friend to sleep the night . There were 2 girls in front of us, who we made friends with and we all waited together. We waited up all night, just to hear about Justin Bieber. People inside the studios came out and asked the four of us for pictures because we were such dedicated fans. We couldn’t believe it was only the four of us. Around 2 am, two more girls arrived who we all became friends with. The six of us waited all night, without sleeping, outside of the z100 studios to just catch a glimpse of Justin. When it finally hit around 6 am, a lot more people came who started being rude and obnoxious and made the security guards put up barricades. Finally, it was 7:30am. We all thought that Justin would come early, or take some pictures. But at 7:45, Justin, Kenny, Moshi, Bruce, and some random driver all exited out of one black escalade. Justin smiled, and touched some fans before he rushed into the studios. I was lucky enough to have stuck my arm out enough for him to grab it! After Justin arrived, Alfredo and Allison arrived in a different black escalade. Everyone went crazy for them! After his interview was over, more people started showing up and trying to make up excuses not to stand in the barricades. At around 10:00am all of Justin and his team finally came out. I ended up taking a picture with Bruce (Justin’s grandpa), Kenny, and Alfredo. They are all the sweetest guys in the world. I told Kenny I was obsessed with him, and he laughed at me.  Justin took pictures with a lot of fans and I was really nervous he wasn’t going to be able to take mine. He was one the other side of the barricades and I looked at him and begged him to come over to our side. He finally came over and took pictures with a lot of people before me. When he finally got to me the crowd behind him was insane. He looked behind him and his security team almost forced him to go back to the truck. I stuck my camera out, and he moved over to me and smiled. Me and Justin Bieber took a picture together! He smiled at me after it was done, and I thanked him and told him he was amazing. After taking a picture with my friend, Justin was forced to leave because the crowd was insane behind him. They were almost trampling him. Everyone got back into the escalades and speeded away. Some girls tried to sprint after it, but none of them could keep up with how fast it was going. After crying over the reality of the situation, I got interviewed by z100 so many times. It was definitely fate. I never stopped believing in my dream coming true. And since 09, I finally get to say. I’ve met Justin Drew Bieber. Never Say Never. -@manitsbieber See more here: My name is Megan, I’m from Long Island and I’m 15…

Drake Moves Past Bar Brawl With Help From The Weeknd, Dipset

Drake brushes off Chris Brown drama at New York show with all-star lineup including A$AP Rocky, Busta Rhymes and 2 Chainz. By Nadeska Alexis The Weeknd and Drake perform at New York’s Jones Beach on Saturday Photo: WANTAGH, New York — Drake hit the stage at the Nikon Theater in Jones Beach on Saturday night for his first public appearance since the now-infamous club brawl with Chris Brown , and except for a passing reference to the incident, the show went on with extra fuel from special guests like the Weeknd and Dipset. After opening sets from French Montana, 2 Chainz, Meek Mill, Waka Flocka Flame and J. Cole, Drake kicked things off with his Take Care tracks “Lord Knows” and “Underground Kings.” He formally introduced his crowd to the “greatest club in the world,” and assured them that no afterparty could measure up to what he had in store for the night, since he’d brought out “every single n—a that you wanna hear.” Cue “Crew Love” and an appearance from Drizzy’s Toronto pal the Weeknd, who momentarily sent the crowd into a frenzy, as the first in a chain of surprise guests. In addition to summoning Waka, Meek, 2 Chainz and French Montana back to the stage for features, Drake also brought out his Cash Money labelmate Busta Rhymes to perform the throwback “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See,” while A$AP Rocky and his mob dropped in as well. It wasn’t until Drake performed his soul-baring single “Marvin’s Room” that he finally made a blatant reference to the controversy surrounding the Chris Brown incident. He told the audience that he was in a great mood, despite the last few nights being difficult. Once he got that off his chest, he continued the show with an appearance from Jamaican dancehall star Mavado, who performed his own single “I’m So Special.” Despite earlier rumors that Drake might be arrested before the end of the night,  the YMCMB rapper was calm and cool, focused only on delivering a night to remember. He saved his biggest stunt for the final minutes of the show, bringing Jim Jones onstage to perform his hit “We Fly High,” followed by Juelz Santana with “Dipset (Santana’s Town)” and finally, Cam’ron. If having A$AP’s crew on the bill wasn’t enough shine for Harlem, Drake managed to get all three members of Dipset on stage with him for a memorable moment as they performed “Salute.” While details are still being revealed about the club altercation Wednesday night, Drake did his best to brush off the drama and stay focused on the music. This weekend, MTV News caught up with Cash Money CEO Birdman in Atlanta, where he threw his full support behind Drake. “To me, Drizzy ain’t did nothin’ wrong, he ain’t done nothin’ wrong to nobody,” Birdman said.  “He just doin’ great music. He’s not a reckless guy out there just wildin’ out; he’s a humble kid makin’ great music.” Related Artists Drake The Weeknd

Bonnaroo Gets Party Started With Alabama Shakes, Kendrick Lamar

Variety is the rule at Tennessee festival’s Thursday kickoff. By Mary J. DiMeglio Kendrick Lamar performs at Bonnaroo 2012 Photo: Tim Mosenfelder/ Getty Images MANCHESTER, Tennessee — The 11th annual Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival kicked off Thursday with a characteristically diverse mix of artists representing funk, blues, hip-hop, reggae, electronic, indie rock and even mariachi. The rootsy Alabama Shakes , who broke earlier this year, nabbed a closing spot on opening night, grooving through “Hang Loose” and their first single, “Hold On.” Frontwoman Brittany Howard had the crowd feeling her pain as she wailed “Rise to the Sun.” For photos from Bonnaroo, click here. Kendrick Lamar brought his West Coast gangsta rap to the dirty South. And while he clearly had many fans in the crowd — spitting along to “P & P” and “A.D.H.D.” — he took time to address a vocal hater in the front row. “He’s telling us that I’m not the best rapper alive today,” Lamar announced. “Can I prove it to him?” He responded with the frantic “Look Out for Detox.” Earlier in the night, the stage was handled by rappers Danny Brown and Shady Records signee Yelawolf. Soja’s devotees were treated to “Here I Am,” “Everything Changes” and a bit of advice from singer Jacob Hemphill, who urged his audience of reggae lovers to check out Bad Brains, hardcore punk pioneers who also delved into reggae. Bad Brains is scheduled for their first Bonnaroo appearance on Saturday afternoon. Just after sunset, Moon Taxi lit up That Tent with jazzy keyboard and bass solos. Also Thursday, Big Gigantic managed to seamlessly blend Jay-Z’s “Dirt Off Your Shoulder,” Aloe Blacc’s “I Need a Dollar,” electro and high-speed drum and bass — all while featuring live saxophone. Mimosa gave a shout-out to fellow Bonnaroo performer Ludacris, mixing the rapper’s “What’s Your Fantasy” into a set that also included DJ Darude’s decade-old trance classic “Sandstorm.” Over four days, nights and early mornings, Bonnaroo will bring fans more than 150 bands and nearly two dozen comedians. Friday (June 8) features Radiohead, Foster the People, Feist, and Mos Def and Talib Kweli as Black Star. The 2012 lineup also includes Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Beach Boys, Phish, Skrillex, Alice Cooper, Fun. and Bon Iver. Are you at Bonnaroo? Share your review in the comments below!
