You gotta know when to hold ‘em, know when to fold ‘em, know when to walk away, know when to run… Nothin’ lasts forever, and that old adage is especially true when it comes to hip-hop and R&B. Some artists are fortunate enough to have long careers with several multi-platinum albums, but even a good run has its end. We’ve rounded up some artists that might not have gotten the memo that the general public has moved on to something newer and shinier. Some of your favorite rappers and singers may be on this list, and it might be hard to accept, but we feel like these folks’ careers are all but finished. Flip the script to see who we think should just retire their jersey.

In the case of these actors the decisions they made regarding their careers might have set them back in status and money. We found several examples of these actors/actresses and decided to bring you some of the most incredible. Flip the script to see the list.
Awww po’ thang… The hits keep coming for Michele Bachmann. The Republican presidential candidate’s entire New Hampshire campaign staff has quit en masse. The resignations, first reported by WMUR, come as Bachmann slides in the national polls. The five-person team said they felt Bachmann was not committed to winning the state, according to WMUR. When Bachmann came to the Republican debate at Dartmouth college last week, it was her first trip to the Granite State since June. Staffers said that was the final straw. Team Bachmann did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Her excuse was… The Tea Party favorite and Minnesota congresswoman previously blamed her absence in New Hampshire on the debt-ceiling crisis on Capitol Hill. “You didn’t see me a lot here in New Hampshire, and I’ll tell you why: It’s because my first duty was to go back to Washington, D.C.,” she said last week. Two words. Ha Ha! Source

Former Vice-President Dick Cheney and his daughter Liz seem to think so… Former Vice President Dick Cheney praised the Obama administration Sunday for using a drone strike to kill American-born Muslim cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, but said President Barack Obama should now reverse past criticism of former President George W. Bush’s actions against suspected terrorists. Al-Awlaki — an American whose fluency in English and technology made him one of the top terrorist recruiters in the world — was killed Friday in Yemen, according to U.S. and Yemeni government officials. The strike also killed Samir Khan, an American of Pakistani origin, and two others who were in the same vehicle as al-Awlaki, said the U.S. official, who was briefed by the CIA. Khan specialized in computer programming for al Qaeda and authored the terror network’s online magazine, Inspire. “I think it was a very good strike. I think it was justified,” Cheney told CNN’s Candy Crowley on “State of the Union.” But “I’m waiting for the administration to go back and correct something they said two years ago when they criticized us for ‘overreacting’ to the events of 9/11.” To further his argument Chaney and his daughter Liz go on to say: The Obama administration has “clearly … moved in the direction of taking robust action when they feel it is justified,” Cheney said. Cheney’s daughter, Liz Cheney, went a step further, saying Obama “in effect said that we had walked away from (America’s) ideals.” “I think he did tremendous damage,” Liz Cheney said. “I think he slandered the nation and I think he owes an apology to the American people.” What say you? Has Barack Obama proved to be a hypocrite? Source
The phenomenal Adele has reconnected with the “creature” that inspired the amazing album “21″ – her ex-boyfriend. Some people are viewing the rekindling as a bad thing but here’s what Adele has to say about it: “We’re becoming friends again. It’s alright, I know what I’m doing. Enough time has gone by,” the star (last name: Adkins) said in a recent interview with the UK’s The Independent. “Now with what’s going on with the album around the world, it’s important to be able to share it with him because it’s marvelous what has happened,” she explained of her record-breaking album and singles sales. “He changed my life, I can’t deny that. The album helped me get over splitting up with my boyfriend. It helped me forgive and I hope that he has forgiven himself,” she added. If she likes it, we love it! This interaction could assist in creating Adele’s next hit album! As long as she doesn’t let him to do damage like before… we think she’ll be alright. 10 Millions Album Sold… Why Not Forgive Him? Maybe this throat condition will keep ol’ John from putting his foot in his mouth so much… John Mayer has been diagnosed with granuloma, a serious throat condition that has forced him to cancel all plans to sing in the near future. In a post on his blog, the guitarist explained that he has spent several months monitoring his condition, but has been advised by doctors to bow out of planned appearances at the iheartradio Music Festival in Las Vegas and an appearance with Tony Bennett in Los Angeles. Mayer’s condition has also set back work on his forthcoming album. “Born and Raised is complete as far as music recording, song selection, and in some cases mixing, but because of this condition I couldn’t finish singing on several of the tracks,” he wrote on his blog. “This means the record will be released next year instead of this fall or winter.” Mayer is hopeful that this illness is only a temporary issue. “I’m not sure how long or short a period of time it will be,” he wrote. “I’ve got the best doctors in the country looking after me and I will be singing and touring again as soon as I get the all-clear. Until then I’ll be spending time writing and composing more music and kicking an empty soup can around the West Village.” You can always count on Karma. The power of the tongue is some powerful isht. We can think of some folks who probably have it harder Shemar . SMH. It ain’t easy being beautiful, or sexy let Shemar Moore tell it. In a recent interview he wouldn’t stop whining about how hard he has it and we thought we’d share: “I’m not in very good shape right now,” declared Shemar Moore, but if that’s the case, then heaven help the rest of the guys on the planet. At 41, he’s got the physique of a guy a decade or two younger. “As I get older it’s getting harder and harder, but it’s part of my image to look a certain way, so I’m holding on,” laughed Moore, whose often physically demanding role as special agent Derek Morgan in Criminal Minds helps on that score. The CBS procedural action-drama series, about an elite team of profilers who hunt down serial killers, begins its seventh season on September 21. The show’s longevity is something Moore attributes to the cast’s chemistry, smart scriptwriting and a realistic, cinematic feel. “It’s like Silence of the Lambs meets Seven,” he revealed before a fall preview party at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills on Tuesday night. The show’s crimes tend to be grisly, but Moore isn’t fazed. “I know it’s pretend,” said the actor, up for whatever the role requires. “I’d never owned a gun. I don’t like guns. My mother hates that I carry a gun. But I look like I know what I’m doing,” explains Moore, who relates a lot to his TV character. “He’s a tough guy … you understand why he has the bravado that he has, but underneath all that [he] is a softie with a big heart, and vulnerabilities and insecurities that justify why he’s guarded. His passion comes from a good place but it gets him in trouble.” Moore considers himself just as passionate, physically capable, and slow-to-trust as his character, “but I’m not as tough, not looking for the fight. I get along with everybody. Derek is a little more hot-tempered.” While Moore didn’t aim to be a role model, “I just know that, in my actions, in my career and my life, people are watching me around the world and are inspired by me, so I am very aware that my choices matter, but I’m not gonna live my life for other people.” His guiding principle? “As long as I stay true to me. If I entertain you, or if I move you to be better, great, or if you say you feel like you relate to me, I feel that’s a better compliment than asking for an autograph.” Paging Billy Dee Williams — STAT! Can you please talk some sense into this man about how a young playboy is supposed to age into a distinguished gentleman? Other than the insecure business, Shemar seems like such a nice boy. One you’d have to fight for the mirror. But nice. Fame Pictures Source
Was this dice-shakin’ dance machine doing his best ‘Boardwalk Empire’ impression??? Damon Dash—fallen hip-hop mogul, co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records—had a club not so long ago in Tribeca called DD172. SOTC alum Zach Baron referred to it as “gallery-cum-illegal-performance-space-cum-goofy-artless-takeoff-on-Warhol’s-Factory,” and the Observer called Dash a “Wannabe Warhol”: “Sometimes the four-story warehouse is a sprawling art gallery; at other times, it’s a photo studio, or an indie band’s rehearsal space.” To Tribecans, it was “a front” for a suspected unlicensed club, a nuisance, a disturbance. DD172 hasn’t been operational since June, when the Tribeca Citizen observed stuff being moved out of the space at 172 Duane Street. Yesterday, the quiet block where the club was located—located in one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in New York—rippled with interest as the city brought legal action against the building’s owners. At around 4:30 p.m. yesterday, cops served the property with a court summons and order to show cause. The defendants, 172 Duane Street Realty and “Jane and John Doe” (the tenants, i.e. Dash and associates) are accused of six counts of storing and selling alcoholic beverages without a license, as detailed in court documents obtained by the Voice. DD172 was caught violating the liquor code for the first time in November 2010 and as recently as May, according to the affidavits of police who investigated the club. One document states that the violations “were conducted in an open and notorious manner and the operators of this establishment appear to have evinced a ‘business as usual’ attitude in the subject premises.” DD172′s repeated violations are used as evidence that the club’s actions constitute a public nuisance. The plaintiffs are asking for a preliminary injunction from the judge, plus a restraining order. Said one salty tenant about Dash as a neighbor: “Damon Dash was a terrible neighbor. It was always super loud, super noisy, tons of garbage in the street. All these 18-year-old kids smoking and drinking—real thugs. They were disrespectful to the neighborhood.” This neighbor said the local rumor is that “the owner rented to Damon Dash to f**k with the neighbors,” and that the landlord knew full well that Dash wasn’t the kind of tenant the neighborhood wanted. He described Dash as a “hustler” and DD172′s purported “media collective” status as a “front” for an illegal club, a claim that the city apparently corroborates.
