In White Folks News: Greenday Rocker Billie Joe Armstrong Gets Kicked Off Southwest Airlines Flight For Pants On The Ground

Nice to see some equal opportunity pant-saggin’ prejudice. Billie Joe Armstrong’s Labor Day weekend is off to a rocky start after the Green Day frontman was kicked off a Southwest Airlines flight Thursday for having pants that hung too low. Armstrong was traveling from Oakland, Calif., to Burbank, Calif., when the incident occurred. Cindy Qiu, an associate producer at ABC 7 in Oakland who was on the flight, told the news agency that when a flight attendant asked Armstrong to pull his pants up, he asked: “Don’t you have better things to do then worry about that?” When the attendant asked again, also threatening to have Armstrong removed from the flight, he retorted “I’m just trying to get to my f**king seat.” This isn’t the first time an incident like this has occurred. In June, a US Airways passenger was arrested after he refused to pull up his saggy pants. Prosecutors later said they would not file charges against him. Billie took to his Twitter (as celebs always do) to voice his displeasure with his Southwest experience. Southwest Airlines responded (via Twitter) Its messed up that Billie Joe got kicked off the plane, but we can’t help but feel a little better knowing that airlines aren’t just targeting “urban” youth with their “no sagging” policy. Especially after the last incident … Source

Did You Notice? Jay-Z Refused To Clap For Chris Brown At The VMAs [Video]

We all agree that Chris Breezy killed his VMA performance , but one such super millionaire wasn’t too enthused. If you notice at the end of the performance, Kanye is all excited and clapping, but Jigga was sitting around nonplussed. Dude didn’t even stop sipping his Ciroc to even acknowledge that Brown was flipping around like he was filming The Matrix 4. We suspect this has something to do with the fact that Jay always had huge problems with Breezy ever since he beat up The Camel’s “little sis” Rihanna. We see Jay hasn’t let bygones be bygones as was evident by his refusal to clap for Breezy last night. Damn, don’t get on Hov’s bad side.

The-Nightmare Opens Up About Destroying His Marriage To C-Milli And Implies It Was Her Fault For Marrying Him In The First Place

Hold up, did this dirty dog think he could throw shade at Christina without us picking up on it? In a new interview with Vibe.com, The-Dream talks all sorts of things that make him reflect on life, including being hated on on Twitter and his divorce. Asked how his very public breakup affected his music, he had this to say: It’s just allowed me to be more real. I’d rather be the bad guy than anybody else be the bad girl because I can handle it. It’s a bad thing that two people can break up, but the truth of the matter is that it happens all the time for different reasons. But what’s wrong with a public breakup is that they never really know the truth. And I won’t be the person who says it. I’m not going to be that type. If something breaks, it’s not something to celebrate. Well-put. So you’re saying you’re not the only one who did wrong in that relationship, but at the same time there’s no need for details? Right. I won’t put something on someone else’s plate that they can’t handle. What this does for me is give me another plateau to speak on break ups from another point of view. Maybe through me a woman can learn how to keep a ni–a. Wow, Dream. Way to be a stand-up guy for your ex. SMH. And then to clean it up, he came with the woe-is-me story.

Ninja Please: DMX Says He Plans To Sue The Arizona Police Department For Harassment After His Speeding Arrest

*Sigh* According to TMZ reports : X — who was allegedly going 102 mph in a 65 zone — tells TMZ, “I was going 85 miles per hour … I know for a fact I didn’t go more than 90.” X adds, “I’m used to driving fast, I’m a New Yorker … but I constantly look at the speedometer when I’m driving … I need to make sure I don’t drive too fast.” The rapper says he knows he was technically speeding, but he feels the cops abused their authority by putting him behind bars … even though his rap sheet takes longer to read than “War and Peace.” “I plan on suing … and I plan on suing for harassment,” DMX says … adding, “I’m in discussions with multiple lawyers who are not afraid to go against the system in helping me clear my name because I have been harassed.” Dog, at this point in life there is very litte that you can do to “clear your name”. All those lawyers want to do is make a couple dollars off of your simple a$$, just go home and get your life together.

Cry Me A River: Tavis Smiley And Cornel West Are Gettin’ Major Hate For Criticizing President Obama

These ninjas got the “And what?!?” face There’s been a lot of controversy over the last few weeks surrounding the Poverty Tour organized by Tavis Smiley and Cornel West. The pair has used the nine-state, 18-city event to both highlight the struggle of the nation’s poor as well as to criticize President Obama for what they say is a laissez-faire attitude toward economically marginalized Americans. But in response, they have been labeled as self-promoting, self-serving Obama haters. They have become pariahs in some circles. The blowback has even become personal and nasty, with the comedian Steve Harvey recently calling the duo “Uncle Toms” and the Rev. Al Sharpton and radio personality Tom Joyner taking various shots at them. But as Smiley sat on the Poverty Tour bus on Friday headed to Memphis, Tenn., the final stop on their trip, he said the tour had gone exactly the way he and West had planned. “I am very clear on who I am and who I am not, what I can do and what I can not,” he said during a phone interview. “I have a platform that I can use to bring awareness, to draw attention and create a conversation.” He then rattled off a list of news outlets that covered some aspect of the tour, including “Nightline,” C-Span and CNN, the Chicago Tribune, the Chicago Sun Times, Life Magazine, The Root, The Nation, the Associated Press, NBC, CBS, and The Huffington Post. “The tour did everything it was supposed to do,” he said. “And its not just about raising awareness, it’s about starting a dialogue about poverty and the poor in this country. I don’t get intimidated by haters. Not only are we not intimidated, if we had more resources and time, we would extend the tour,” Smiley said. “The question that I would pose to the critics is not why are we doing what we are doing or saying, it’s ‘if you care about poor people why aren’t you doing anything?’” All the hate the people are tossing Smiley and West’s way hasn’t fallen on numb ears… “For me it hurts, when this jumped off a few years ago and I was the one person nationally and personally raising questions of accountability,” Smiley said. “They wanted Barack Obama to win by any means necessary. I got that then and I get it now, but it hurts and I shed a lot of tears, had a lot of conversations with Dr. West.” “So, it hurts, and it brings me to tears, but at the end of the day I don’t know any other way to live,” he added. “And so what I’ve said to black people is I love you and ain’t nothing you can do about it. These Negroes have tried, but I love them anyway.” Boo-f’n-hoo. The POTUS has a tough job to do, and maybe he’s not doin everything that everyone wants when they want it, but he’s definitely servicing the community. Source

Out Of Bounds: The Worst Sports Scandals Of All Time

A look at some of the worst on field/court and off field/court behavior in history. “If you’re not cheating, you’re not trying” is a mantra that is used by many a coach and player in professional sports and otherwise. Unfortunately, some players (and referees) are caught cheating and have to pay dearly for it whether that means being banned from the game that they love or actually serving hard time for the offenses that they committed. Bossip has put together a short list of some of the most egregious crimes that athletes have been accused, tried, and often convicted of over the years. Flip through the following pages and let us know which you think is the worst.

Crime Pays: Casey Anthony Is About To Make It Rain As Network Scramble To Score The First Interview

This b!*$# here… According to TMZ reports : Jose Baez — Casey Anthony’s lawyer — is holed up at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York City, holding court with all of the major networks — to determine who will score the first interview with Casey — and big bucks are involved. Sources tell TMZ … NBC, ABC and CBS are all competing for the first interview. Sources connected with the negotiations tell TMZ there is a “big price tag” for the interview. We’re told the networks — which say they don’t pay for interviews — are offering to license photos and other material and pay big bucks … that’s S.O.P. in the network game. We’re told NBC looks like the frontrunner so far, but ABC is in the game. We’re told CBS “is a distant third.” We’re told NBC is paying for Baez’ hotel room. Baez spent part of the night Thursday in the Mandarin Oriental bar with famed lawyer Mark Geragos — who knows a thing or two about high-profile cases. We’re told Geragos gave Baez pointers on negotiating the deal. R.I.P. Caylee Anthony, but yo momma is going directly to hell, she will not pass ‘Go’, she will not collect $200.

Cry Me A River: The NBA Lockout Is Interfering With Kimmy Cakes And Kris Humphries’ Reality Spinoff Plans

That gosh darned lockout is screwing with your Kimmy Cakes overload dolls! Humphries and fiancee Kim Kardashian are in talks for a spinoff reality show on E!, dependent upon where the power forward signs as a free agent, Hollywoodlife.com reports. “Kim and Kris have been filming different parts of their lives, including wedding prep, but their show hinges on Kris’s contract negotiations,” an insider close to the production told the Web site. “Currently he’s a free agent, but it all depends on what teams he ends up with and their rules for their players and outside commitments.” Humphries is unable to sign with a team until the NBA lockout is over. He made $3.2 million last season and the Nets want him back at a reasonable price — and all indications are he wants to return. “We have to take care of the lockout first and from there my agent is going to handle the process and lay everything out,” Humphries said last month. The couple intends to continue on E!’s “Keeping up with the Kardashians” in addition to a new show, conditions permitting. The good news is, if the lockout continues Kris can spend all year being Kimmy Cakes’ b*tch! And what a job that is… Source
