Solange Cancels Coachella Music Festival Set Due To “Major Production Delays”

According to the music festival’s official Twitter account, the singer will have to forgo her scheduled performances on April 13 and April 20 at the festival in Indio, California. Due to major production delays, Solange will unfortunately no longer be performing at this year's festival. The album is based in jazz-fusion, soul and funk, and serves as a stream of consciousness work that encapsulates her love for the culture and Black life she observed while growing up in Houston, Texas. While Solange will not be appearing at Coachella, her European fans can expect a series of performances during the summer. After Solange’s name was announced as a performer in January, fans speculated new music was on the way, after she teased her album would drop in the fall during an interview in the New York Times Style Magazine. The nearly ten-year-old accessories line photographed its employees in its NYC showroom, showing off new designs for backpacks, carryalls and fanny packs. Founder David Ben David said he wanted to honor Sprayground’s female staffers, calling these women were the backbone of his company who helped turn his surreal dreams into reality. David said women from diverse backgrounds making up a large portion of its senior management, from marketing and PR to merchandising and designing. Marvel Hints ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Is Going Have Us Emotionally Messed Up Again

Source: Marvel / Disney Since Nick Fury pushed send on his retooled pager, Captain Marvel’s impressive solo debut and most recently, the new Avengers: Endgame trailer, fans have been speculating as to what exactly is going to happen in the epic conclusion. According to Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige, Captain Marvel’s presence in the April 26 film is not to do what we hope she would. All we want is to see Thanos get a well-deserved fade for snapping his fingers and turning our favorite heroes into blunt ashes and we assumed Captain Marvel would be the one to deliver it. But based on recent comments from Feige, her coming back to Earth is not to save the day but to usher in a new age of Marvel films or a changing of the guard so to speak, for she will be taking over as the leader of Avengers. Speaking with Empire Magazine , Feige confirmed that Endgame the conclusion to the newly dubbed Infinity Saga will focus on the core six Avengers we first introduced so many years ago. He basically reveals that defeating Thanos will come with a tragic cost, so this film aims to be a homage or goodbye to the original Avengers as we know it. We just don’t know whether it will be Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Black Widow, Thor or Hawkeye that will bite the dust. Hell, it could be all of them for all we know. “People would point out that that Cap wasn’t in Infinity War a whole lot. And Iron Man didn’t really speak for that last half hour because of what was going on. But those characters and all of the original six are very much the focus of Endgame in a very personal and emotional way.” Adding more fuel to the fire, Infinity War  and  Endgame co-writer Christopher Markus also revealed to Empire Magazine that the MCU will be changed following the upcoming Avengers film. He made sure to add the “deaths” we saw in the movie were real and as fans the quicker we accept it, the faster we can move on. “We are in different territory, possibly than anyone’s ever been in before in terms of a movie series. The MCU continues to exist. Who happens to be in it is fluid and evolving things where, because it’s all connected, you can’t reboot one. All the parts have to work together. Things continue, but like life, losses are real, and change is real.” Well, we will have no choice with seven films still in the pipeline including Spider-Man: Far From Home , a Black Panther sequel, a Black Widow solo film, Doctor Strange 2 , an Eternals film, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 with James Gunn back in the director’s chair and finally Shang Chi which will be the first movie starring an Asian superhero. So make sure you have your tissues ready next to your popcorn y’all it sounds like we are going to need emotional support after Avengers: Endgame . TMZ is reporting that the new and sober Dark Man X kicked off one of Kanye’s outdoor concerts with one of his signature DMX prayer this past Sunday (March 17). Speaking like a preacher man who’s been to hell and back (anyone familiar with X’s history knows he has), the gruff-voiced “Slippin’” artist delivered the kind of sermon that would pack a house of worship with the roughest and toughest don dadas looking for redemption. Children’s Museum Celebrating African History And Culture Coming To Baltimore

A new children’s museum centered on African history and culture is officially coming to Baltimore. According to CBS Baltimore the museum—which is slated to open its doors in the Park Heights neighborhood this summer—will be the first of its kind in the country. “They might not even know that they're learning, but we will introduce ideas and concepts that they could participate in, and thereby learn the history of Africa,” “Mama Kiki” Armstrong said of her aspiring museum. https://t.co/BSkAa0cJUp — WJZ | CBS Baltimore (@wjz) March 11, 2019 Dubbed the Sankofa Children’s Museum, the idea for the cultural institution was conceptualized by Esther “Mama Kiki” Armstrong . Armstrong—who is the owner of a Baltimore-based African-inspired boutique called Sankofa African & World Bazaar—believed that there was a lack of knowledge amongst children about the historical backgrounds of African nations. She thought there needed to be a space where youngsters could learn and embrace their roots and was adamant about bringing it to fruition. Armstrong wanted to create an interactive experience for children where they can learn about nations like Ghana, Kenya, and Zimbabwe through playing musical instruments, trying cuisines that were derived from these countries, and dressing up in traditional garbs. She launched a fundraiser for the museum and is moving forward with the project with the help of generous donors. “This should help them appreciate the culture. We’re not just talking about African-American kids. We’re talking about all the kids in the community,” she told the news outlet. “We have to realize that the history of black America, for instance, does not start with slavery. There is a whole lot of history and a whole lot of civilization before the white men ever set foot in Africa.” She also added that it’s essential to bring an institution like this to Baltimore to combat the negative portrayals of our culture that Black children are inundated with and empower them to have pride in where they come from. Different countries will be highlighted on a rotating basis and she will have experts from embassies contribute to telling the narratives of these nations. Armstrong plans on opening up the museum on June 19 to commemorate Juneteenth.
