Disney star and Australian actor have parted ways, Hemsworth’s rep confirms. The teen queen has split from her boyfriend Liam Hemsworth after more than a year of dating. Hemsworth’s PR representative confirmed the “Can’t Be Tamed” singer and her beefy Australian beau have officially called it quits. “It’s true,” the actor’s rep told RadarOnline.com . The news comes after reports that the couple were getting serious. According to Radar, Cyrus recently purchased a $3.4 million house, not far from her parents’ California home, where Hemsworth was a frequent guest. Hemsworth and Cyrus struck up a romance after meeting on the film set of “The Last Song” in 2009. The pop star said earlier this year that although she wasn’t on the lookout for a boyfriend, Hemsworth won her over with his gentlemanly charm. “I kind of just wanted to focus on my work. I tend to hide behind my work sometimes,” Cyrus said on “Ellen” in March. “But I met him, and he opened the door for me, and I was like, I have been in L.A. for three years and I don’t think any guy has actually opened the door for me. It wasn’t that he wanted the job. That’s just who he is. I was like, ‘Wow, that is super-impressive.’ I actually turned to the director and said, ‘He’s got the job.’ He’s hot and he opened the door. Excellent.” Cyrus, who dropped her latest album, Can’t Be Tamed, in June, said that much of the LP was inspired by her romance with Hemsworth. “There are a lot of songs that are about Liam,” Cyrus told MTV News when Tamed was released. “I tell him every one’s about him,” she quipped. Sale benefiting the philanthropic social network Get Ur Good On begins later this month. She’s just announced plans to auction off her clothing and accessories on eBay . The proceeds will benefit Get Ur Good On , a social network aimed at connecting youth with volunteer and service opportunities in and around their communities. “For me I get this amazing blessing and opportunity to do this every day and get up on stage and hopefully inspire people with my music,” Cyrus said in a video message posted on the Get Ur Good On site. “And that’s something that’s really important to me, but so is getting involved in charities.” In recent months, it’s been Cyrus’ clothing (or lack thereof) that’s garnered most of the headlines . But the new auction is just the latest charity endeavor she’s undertaken with Youth Service America, the organization that runs Get Ur Good On. Earlier this summer, she served as a spokesperson for YSA’s “Blessings in a Backpack” mission, which provides weekend meals to children on free- or reduced-lunch programs. “There’s amazing charities right here in America. You don’t have to travel 30 hours … you don’t have to give a billion dollars. It’s not about how much or how far, it’s about looking at your neighbors and seeing how you can help,” Cyrus said. “This isn’t just stuff that’s all over the world, it’s right here, it’s right next to you. Taylor Momsen on Miley Cyrus Comparisons: Shut the Eff Up!

Miley Cyrus may be a colossal disappointment for a variety of reasons, but at least she doesn’t curse, smoke or look like a raccoon at all times. The same can’t be said for Gossip Girl cast member Taylor Momsen. Speaking to FHM UK , the 16-year old lashed out at critics that compare her to Miley this week, making it very clear that she doesn’t see any similarities between the pair. “I’m not looking to be Miley f*cking Cyrus,” Momsen said. “I don’t care about the fame. I do it because I love music. I like making records and if people like them, then we’ll go along for the ride.” Momsen and Cyrus may both act and sing, but that’s pretty much where the comparisons end. The former fronts rock band The Pretty Reckless, while the latter is nothing more than a Britney Spears wannabe at this point. Still, Taylor feels a need to distance herself from Miley, adding: “I think the Disney bubblegum shit that the world is living right now is pathetic. I thought we passed that repression.” It’s unclear what that actually means, but Gossip Girl fans have made their opinion of Momsen and her character well-known: Jenny Humphrey has been written out of most of next season on the show. Good riddance.
