R.I.P: Family And Friends Pay Their Respects At Chris Kelly’s Wake

We feel for Chris ‘ family and friends. Chris Kelly’s Wake Gets Under Way According to TMZ Chris Kelly’s public wake is under way at a funeral home in Atlanta, GA … where mourners were greeted with an instrumental version of “Jump” … TMZ has learned. Friends and family members have been paying their respects to the Kris Kross rapper at the open-casket event all day long — while final preparations are made for tomorrow’s public funeral. Although Chris kept faithful to his pants-backward style his entire adult life, his burial trousers were forward … he was dressed in a black suit, white shirt and pink tie, sporting earrings and a goatee. We’re told Chris “Daddy Mac” Smith and Jermaine Dupri (who discovered Kris Kross) have not arrived to the wake … yet. Sources tell us Smith is taking Kelly’s death especially hard and is still trying to pull himself together. Inside the casket, on a sign attached to the coffin lid, read the words: “Cause that’s what I was born to do …” lyrics from the Kris Kross hit “Warm It Up.” The casket was flanked by photos of Chris and Daddy Mac in their heyday. No media were allowed inside, though the viewing was open to the public … one vehicle rolled up with “Jump” blaring out the windows … a few local news trucks were parked outside … but otherwise it’s been a quiet affair. A small group of family and close friends planned to gather later on at Chris’s house. We broke the story … Kelly died on May 1 after a suspected cocaine and heroin overdose. He was 34. And Another One! Kim Porter Sued By Former Personal Assistant Who Says She Was Fired For Complaining About Being Worked Like A Slave

Where is Kim Porter? Probably cracking her whip on some poor personal assistant who is on her hands and knees scrubbing the dog poo stains out of her carpet. At least that’s what the latest lawsuit against her alleges. Via RadarOnline reports : The baby mama of Sean John Combs, aka Puff Daddy, Diddy and P. Diddy, is being sued by a former assistant who claims she made her work like a slave up to 99.5 hours each week! According to the lawsuit, obtained exclusively by RadarOnline.com, Amanda Jansen was hired to work for Kim Porter in November 2011. “Pursuant to the employment agreement, Ms. Jansen was to work 99.5 hours per week. These hours included 13.5 hour shifts on Monday through Friday and 24 hour shifts (8 hours of which were unpaid) Saturday and Sunday,” the lawsuit says. “Thus, Ms. Jansen did not have regularly scheduled days off.” Among the duties Jansen was ordered to perform, the suit alleges, were cooking for the household and staff, going to Costco and “cleaning the floor if the family dog urinated, or defecated in the house.” But the living quarters provided for Amanda, the documents claim, were “abysmal” and the bedroom door didn’t have a lock. Prior to being fired, lawyers for Amanda say she conveyed her concerns that she was being short-changed to Porter and was summarily dismissed shortly thereafter. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages. It’s the second lawsuit in successive months to be filed against Porter: last month, Dawn Drago, filed papers in a court alleging that Porter chain-smoked sticky icky in the house while her children were home. In the latest case, Jansen is being repped by famed attorneys Tamar Arminak and Patrick Reider. Poor thang! Trick Daddy and Lil Wayne are not big fans of each other, but Weezy’s friend mentor Birdman has reportedly stepped in to quash this beef for good. Lil Wayne went ballistic at a strip club last month after a dude in Trick’s posse allegedly flicked a cigarette into the rapper’s dreads at a Miami strip club. Trick Daddy is bitter, claiming Tunechi got him blackballed from all the good strip clubs in Miami (really), leaving him to frequent butterface joints (really). Moreover, Trick insists he didn’t even do anything to Weezy. “If I wanted to start $h!t with [Wayne] he would have been in the hospital for a different reason,” Daddy boasted, harshly referencing Weezy’s seizures . Fortunately, Birdman stepped in to defuse the situation between the feuding rappers. He’s reportedly set up a dinner with the three of them to talk it out. What we wouldn’t give to be a fly on that wall. In other news, Mountain Dew dropped Lil Wayne as a spokesman because of the Emmett Till controversy and the rapper’s perceived lack of apology. Guy’s got beefs going left and right lately.

Via NYDailyNews reports : Popular Hot 97 deejay “Mister Cee” was busted trying to pick up a male hooker in Brooklyn, cop sources said Saturday. But Cee, 46, whose real name is Calvin LeBrun, didn’t know that the gigolo he approached at Madison St. and Broadway in Bushwick just before midnight on Friday was really an undercover cop, the sources said. The music man — who emerged into the hip-hop world as Big Daddy Kane’s deejay and later produced Notorious B.I.G.’s first album, “Ready to Die” — was charged with patronizing a sex worker. He was waiting to be arraigned on Saturday. It’s not the first time the deejay has been cuffed for playing with professionals. Cee pled guilty in 2011 to a charge of loitering for the purpose of engaging in prostitution after he was arrested for receiving oral from another man in a parked car. SMH. Why doesn’t this guy just get a boyfriend and stop shopping amongst the trade?

Dr. Conrad Murray Today Interview: Don’t Blame Me!

Dr. Conrad Murray is – again – proclaiming innocence when it comes to the death of Michael Jackson, telling Today in a phone interview that he’s not to blame. Murray also says he hopes to practice medicine again some day. Even if he can legally pull that off, we can’t exactly envision the patients lining up … Conrad Murray on Today Speaking with the NBC morning show, Murray did say that he’s sorry Michael Jackson died, but he still says he is in no way responsible for his death. Murray is sticking to his story, which did not play well with a jury in his manslaughter trial, that Michael Jackson killed himself with a fatal dose of Propofol. Conrad is also potentially a key figure in the MJ wrongful death suit , though he has insisted he wants no part of that when it comes to either side. The doc, who’s serving a four-year prison term, says he did not appeal it to shorten his sentence – though he would no doubt take it – but for another reason: So he can restore his medical license and see patients again. Again … we’re all for second chances and all, but … no.
