Wow. A Swedish man was being treated in hospital Sunday after being dug out alive from his snow-buried car in which he had survived for two months with no food, according to police and local media. The 45-year-old from southern Sweden was found on Friday, emaciated and too weak to utter more than a few words. The BBC reported the temperature in the area had recently dropped to -22F (-30C). He was found not far from the city of Umea in the north of Sweden by snowmobilers who thought they had come across a car wreck until they dug their way to a window and saw movement inside. The man, who was laying in the back seat in a sleeping bag, said he had been in the car since December 19. “Just incredible that he’s alive considering that he had no food, but also since it’s been really cold for some time after Christmas,” a rescue team member told regional daily Vasterbottens-Kuriren, which broke the news. R&B singer Robin Thicke was arrested in New York City this afternoon for marijuana possession. The Love After War singer was arrested after police officers saw him smoking a joint while sitting in a Cadillac Escalade parked near Gramercy Park in Manhattan. The New York Daily News reports that Thicke was friendly throughout the arrest and even took photographs with the cops and signed autographs. ‘Even Superman has to sleep,’ Cannon says about cutting back his work schedule. By Jocelyn Vena Nick Cannon Photo: FilmMagic Amid new health concerns, Nick Cannon has announced that he will step down as host of his morning show on 92.3 Now. The DJ/rapper made the announcement early Friday morning (February 17). “Under doctor’s orders, I have been asked to put my health first and cut back on some of my professional commitments in order to allow my body to get the rest that it needs to keep up with the demands of my multi-tasking schedule,” he said in a statement . “It has been an absolute pleasure working with CBS Radio and the 92.3 NOW morning show team and I would like to thank them for their unwavering support,” he said, adding that while he will no longer host his daily show, he will still host his weekly countdown show. “I will continue to host my syndicated ‘Cannon’s Countdown’ weekend show and look forward to contributing to 92.3 NOW whenever possible. Even Superman has to sleep.” The station has announced that for the time being, DJ Lil Cee will replace Cannon. “We respect and understand Nick’s decision to step down from his day-to-day position as host of Morning Drive on 92.3 NOW, and fully support him as he takes on a less demanding role with the station in order to address his health,” they said. “Everyone at the station and all of the CBS RADIO family wish him well, and look forward to his continuing contributions to 92.3 NOW.” The news comes after Cannon revealed he had been hospitalized last week for a slew of new health issues. “It’s my first day back since Friday, and not many people have known this but, uh … I’ve been in the hospital since Friday,” he said on his radio show on Wednesday. “I was having a lot of pain in my back … I learned that I had blood clots in my lungs … an enlarged ventricle in the right side of my heart.” On Friday morning, he took to Twitter as he prepped to say goodbye to his morning show. “A bitter sweet morning. I have to stop my radio show. Doctors orders,” he tweeted. “The Doctors found blood clots in my lungs and said if I don’t slow down and stop working so hard then it’s a wrap!” Cannon had been hospitalized over the holidays for kidney failure but seemed to be doing better. In an interview with MTV News weeks after the incident, he shared what was believed to have contributed to the hospitalization. “I always considered myself as someone who was in great shape, but I was doing too much [to my body] so my immune system got confused and just started attacking my kidneys,” Cannon said in mid-January, pledging to focus on a healthier lifestyle . “You look at my Twitter picture and I look like I’m in shape, but I was putting the wrong stuff into my body, speeding all the time, not sleeping and eating properly. He understand that Domani wants to shoot a video for his first single, but Tip has a plan to get Domani more focused on school. Tip plans to take his son to a video shoot and get him all hyped up about shooting his own video, and then rip the dream right from under him by telling him that if he doesn’t get his act together in school then there will be NO VIDEOS for Domani. Whitney Houston’s funeral will take place at the church where she grew up in Newark, New Jersey this Saturday. The funeral will be private and will take place at the New Hope Baptist Church in Houston’s hometown of Newark. There will be no public service. Carolyn Whigham, owner of Whigham Funeral Home, told the NY Daily News that the singer’s family had personally made the arrangements and the service would be by “invitation only.” Speaking on behalf of Houston’s grieving family, Whigham said: “They thank all of the fans and friends and the media, but at this time this is their private time. They shared her for 30 some years with the city, with the state, with the world. This is their time now for their farewell to their daughter, mother.” Whigham said the family collectively made the decision to have the funeral at New Hope Baptist Church, where Houston sang as a child. “I’ve know this family for many, many, many years,” said Whigham. “From an emotional standpoint, this is very difficult for all of us. It’s a double-sided sword. You have a mother grieving. You have a daughter grieving. You have two brothers grieving. This is really hard. They’re very close. They are our family and we are grieving along with them.” Whigham said Houston’s body would not be buried in Newark but declined to elaborate on the location of her final resting place.
