‘America’s Best Dance Crew’ Vets Jabbawockeez Headline Vegas Show

By Jayson Rodriguez Jabbawockeez Photo: Jacob Andrzejczak/ Getty Images The Jabbawockeez, the inaugural winners of “America’s Best Dance Crew,” announced on Tuesday (March 23) that the masked dance crew will headline a 20-day run at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Hotel and Casino. The “ABDC” veterans kick things off May 7. The Vegas show is the Southern California-based act’s follow-up after joining New Kids on the Block and Jesse McCartney on tour. The Jabbawockeez rose to fame during the first season of Randy Jackson’s reality dance competition on MTV. With their swift moves, mysterious masks and crowd-pleasing routines, the Jabbawockeez burst onto the pop-culture scene. They memorably danced alongside NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal at the 2009 All-Star game in Phoenix . The veteran basketball player proved he still had plenty in the tank as he popped and locked, keeping up with the ‘Wockeez. MTV’s own “Dances From Tha Hood” host Tweetie was thrilled by Shaq’s moves and called the Jabbawockeez’ turn on the big stage “fresh.” “It’s funny to see somebody that big and actually be nice at dancing,” Tweetie said. “I’m not mad at him. There’s not really much you can go into. It was a dope idea. You don’t expect something like that from Shaq — only he could pull it off. “It’s fresh,” Tweetie added about her fellow dancers’ appearance. “It brings something else. It brings something fresh and new to the All-Star Game. The Jabbawockeez are very relevant right now. They represent well. Some crews get big and they change. If they do change, it’s for the better. They always tell a story. They can be so expressive without you having to see their faces. They have a dope energy about them. I loved that Shaq had his own mask.” What do think about the Jackawockeez headlining their own show? How do you think they’d stack up against this season’s “ABDC” competiton? Ke$ha Clarifies Britney Spears Dis In ‘Styrofoam’

‘I do regret ever even singing that, because I have mad respect for her,’ she says. By James Dinh Ke$ha Photo: Andreas Rentz/ Getty Images On the heels of her apology to Justin Bieber for calling him “a tiny little baby” in the April issue of Maxim, Ke$ha is now taking back a few words regarding Britney Spears. In an old song called “Styrofoam” that surfaced online over the weekend, Ke$ha sings, “In 10 years/ Britney Spears/ Britney who?” But the singer, who did background vocals for Spears’ 2008 track “Lace and Leather,” explained the lyric in an interview with “So You Think You Can Dance Australia.” “Just to clarify, I didn’t write that bit,” she said. “And that was from when I was 15 — and there is a reason that song’s not on my record. So I have to admit now, I do regret ever even singing that, because I have mad respect for her. At the time, I was 15. I didn’t really have the balls to not sing it. That is why it’s not on my record. I can’t really stand behind it.” Dr. Luke, who has worked with Ke$ha and Spears, also got into the mix. In a tweet directed at Perez Hilton, the producer wrote, “Think that song was from like 4 years ago and a joke. 🙂 I don’t believe the Britney press stuff cuz I know she likes Britney.” But that probably isn’t going to change Hilton’s mind. In an interview with MTV News, the blogger expressed his extreme distaste for the “trash-talking train wreck.” “She upsets me,” he said. “I love Ke$ha’s music, but I don’t like her. I hate the stupid dollar sign in her name. I hate the stupid nose ring. I hate the stupid makeup. I hate the fact that she looks like she smells and never showers.” Ke$ha has not yet addressed a comment she reportedly made earlier this month over Spears lip-synching during her shows. “I don’t think that’s fair at all for people who are going to see the show,” she said. “I think if you are going to be a singer, you should sing. If you are going to be a dancer, you should dance.” What do you think of Ke$ha’s comments? Do you buy her apologies? Let us know in the comments! Evan Lysacek: Pre-performance Rituals

Evan Lysacek, men’s figure skating champion, is one of the eleven celebrities who will compete on the season 10 premiere of Dancing with the Stars. His partner is Anna Trebunskaya. Just like other contestants, everyone has their own rituals, which they do prior to the competition. Evan has his own rituals too. Just as what he always does, he prepares himself mentally for the first performance. In every competition he joins, he always tries to stimulate all his senses to condition his body. He also lights the same candle which he used to burn in his skating competitions. Same list of songs in his iPod. Most particularly, his chocolate shakes which he drinks on competition days. He uses the same comb, and the same hair gel. When he does these things, it’s his one way of conditioning and telling his body that this is it and it’s time to go. As usual, he prepares himself well. So when it’s their turn to hit the dance floor, he wasn’t nervous anymore. After seeing the performances of the first five couples, he felt great and even more confident. Performing in front of a live audience is not new to him, so the crowd didn’t scare him. He also finds it interesting going face-to-face with the judges and listen to whatever comments they might have regarding their performance. Though the champion has been used to being scored by an international panel, he still felt a little nervous standing in front of Len, Bruno and Carrie Ann. He acknowledges the inputs given by the judges on how they have to improve their performance. At the end of the night, he felt great and even more excited to perform on the dance floor in the coming days. Evan Lysacek: Pre-performance Rituals is a post from: Daily World Buzz Continue reading

Nicole Scherzinger ‘Scared’ Of Pam Anderson On ‘Dancing With The Stars’

‘She is just fierce to me,’ the Pussycat Doll says of her co-star. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Larry Carroll Nicole Scherzinger Photo: MTV News She promises to bring lots of energy to the dance floor as one of the new contestants on the 10th season of “Dancing with the Stars” — but Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, who has an extensive dance background, admitted that she’s scared of one castmember this year: Pam Anderson. “Talk about dance experience,” she told MTV News. “She is just fierce to me. I’m scared of her, actually. She is the one. I don’t know if I’ll be able to take her down but she’s going to be hot and sizzling. She’s gonna do her thing.” Scherzinger herself has also made quite a career out of being sexy, but fans tuning in week after week expecting Scherzinger to turn up the hotness for the show may be surprised — that’s not her thing this season. “Not at all! I will leave the sexy part to Pamela Anderson! Because she’s the hottest chick out there,” she gushed. “For one, I never tried to be sexy or anything — for me the music’s what brings out that sensuality. I’m just gonna be myself.” Not only will Nicole be Nicole, she also plans to just have a good time while out there with partner Derek Hough. “[I’m] just gonna have fun with it. In the show I’ll be able to connect with everyone in a completely different light. “With this show, I feel like people are so used to seeing me in a certain light — they think they know me, but they don’t,” she added . “I just want to connect with everyone out there in a completely different way. I’m gonna have a lot of fun.” Do you think Nicole should be scared of Pam? Who do you think will win “Dancing With the Stars”? Tell us in the comments!

Nicole Scherzinger Bringing ‘Spirit And Energy’ To ‘Dancing With The Stars’

‘I just want to connect with everyone out there in a completely different way,’ she says of her stint on the popular show. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Larry Carroll Nicole Scherzinger Photo: MTV News When “Dancing With the Stars” kicks off Monday night (March 22), pop star and experienced dancing pro Nicole Scherzinger will be one of the many familiar faces set to take the stage as a competitor on the popular ABC reality show. And while fans are used to seeing Scherzinger shimmy around onstage during Pussycat Dolls concerts, she said she wants fans to see a whole new side of her in the dance competition. “With this show, I feel like people are so used to seeing me in a certain light — they think they know me, but they don’t,” she said. “I just want to connect with everyone out there in a completely different way. I’m gonna have a lot of fun.” To get into a competitive mind-set, she’s using a particular Pussycat Dolls song for inspiration. “It’s, like, a lot of loosening up your buttons,” she joked about how she plans to win. “This show is a completely different style of dance with a completely different style of music, which means a completely different personality, spirit and energy. So I’m excited to share that with everyone.” Scherzinger will hit the dance floor with “DWTS” vet Derek Hough, and she warned: Expect the unexpected. “We’ve got some really interesting things planned. We want to do things differently, our own way,” she explained . “We’ve got some surprises that we’re planning. There’s so much to learn from him, because he’s the best. He’s an amazing choreographer. Guns N’ Roses Face Tour Trouble In South America

A riot erupts during an alleged scheduled private show, and another concert is canceled after a stage collapses. By James Montgomery The damaged stage where Guns N’ Roses were going to perform in Brazil on Monday Photo: Agencia Estado/AP Images Axl Rose has always had the ability to seemingly summon chaos at will — witness his apparent run-in with paparazzi at LAX late last year, any number of riots his actions (or lack thereof) touched off at Guns N’ Roses shows, or, really, anything on this list — but on GN’R’s current South American tour, things are really getting out of hand. Because now, Rose and crew are wrecking havoc even when they don’t have shows. Case in point: a reported riot at a private concert in S

Lady Gaga’s ‘Telephone’: The Best Tribute Videos

Gaga’s ‘little monsters’ show that imitation is still the sincerest form of flattery. By James Montgomery Lady Gaga in her video for “Telephone” Photo: Interscope It’s not like fan-made tributes to Lady Gaga’s “Telephone” didn’t exist before the epic, excellent video premiered last week, it’s just that, well, now they’ve been bumped to the forefront. Over the past few days, our inboxes have been inundated with YouTube clips of Gaga fanatics strutting their stuff in time to the tune, and while not all of them have been particularly great (some are downright unsettling), there have been a handful that have risen to the top — lovingly detailed, expertly choreographed, awesomely costumed efforts that basically back up everything Gaga’s ever said about her “Little Monsters.” We got so many that we decided to round up the cream of the crop, the fiercest, funniest and most fabulous of the “Telephone” tribute videos. These aren’t necessarily “parodies” (though there are quite a few of those that are pretty good, too, like the bathtub-riffic “Bubbly” and the too-cute “Telemarketer” more like (somewhat) straightforward love letters to the Lady and her music. Watch, enjoy and pass along to your co-workers, if you haven’t already. Ryan James Yezak Presents “Telephone” : Sort of the “Citizen Kane” of “Telephone” tribute vids, Yezak — a “filmmaker/blogger” according to his Twitter account — turns in an epic, ambitious thing that features plenty of costumes, choreography and even a special effect or two (check the glowing telephones). Bonus points for the catty showdown between the Gaga and Beyonc
