Plus, O Music dancers break the Guinness World Record for the Longest Team Dance Marathon. By Kara Warner Robyn performs at the O Music Awards on Monday Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images Much like the colorful, frenetic, costumed masses that take over West Hollywood, California, on Halloween, MTV’s second annual O Music Awards were so full of creativity, cutting-edge artistry and just plain crazy spirit, it was a perfect fit to be broadcast live from the largest street party in the world. Thanks to killer live performances by Mac Miller , the Band Perry (live from Phoenix), the Alabama Shakes (live from Austin), traffic-stopping headliner Robyn , and extra-special appearances by Kelly Clarkson , Tyler, the Creator, Demi Lovato, Travie McCoy, John Cho and Kal Penn, the action-packed show completely delivered on its “Offbeat, outrageous, online” tagline and then some. Not only that, but the O Music Award dance marathon officially broke the Guinness World Record for the Longest Team Dance Marathon. Oh yeah, and we handed out some really cool awards to very deserving and grateful artists, several of whom proved to be upsets in their respective categories (for example, the Aliens bested the Beliebers, Taylor Nation and

Giuliana Rancic Recovering From Surgery

Giuliana Rancic’s road to recovery has begun. The E! News personality announced Monday that she has breast cancer , and two days later had a double lumpectomy to remove it, hopefully for good. Thankfully, husband Bill told the Today Show Thursday that Giuliana is “doing well” post-surgery. That said, “It was kind of a long day,” Bill explained. “There’s many steps in the process if you go through this. Since it was on both breasts, the morning started with a two hour MRI where they had to put a guide wire in so the surgeon knew exactly what area to remove.” After a mammogram of the other breast and repeating the process, “we went into the surgery [which] lasted about two hours,” Bill said . “She’s a trooper.” “She pulled through it and was kind of relieved to get it over with and get the cancer out. At this point she’s doing well at home and recovering.” “I wish I could take some of the pain away,” he said. “Watching her being wheeled into that operating room was heartbreaking for me … I’m just doing everything I can to support her and make sure that she’s comfortable.” Thankfully, the prognosis is good for 37-year-old Giuliana. “We’re viewing this as a gift,” Bill said. “It was caught accidentally, very, very early.” Giuliana’s doctor insisted she get a mammogram before going through her third round of IVF treatments, and that was when it was discovered. “I will be okay, because I found it early,” she reassured fans Monday on Today . Following her surgery, she has “radiation for six and a half weeks.” And the spouses of four years are determined to continue in their attempts to conceive once Giuliana’s medical issues are resolved. “I’m not gonna give up,” she said. When she does get pregnant, “That baby will have saved my life,” she mused. “There’s some master plan.” Keep up hope and stay strong, G! [Photo: WENN.com]

Kirstie Alley: Dating Serge Onik?

Kirstie Alley was been a bit of a tease lately. Flaunting her new figure (she just dropped 100 pounds, as these Kirstie Alley weight loss pics show), she’s been spotted all over Europe with a much younger fella. So who is it? Serge Onik is his name, and she just can’t stop Tweeting about her man, while referring to herself as Cougar Maximus in the process. Pretty funny … “Mystery man And I slink out of Paris today 2 covertly take Rome by storm… Cougar Maximus, or just friends? I luv my silly life!” she Tweeted. So who is this mysterious Serge Onik? Only Kirstie’s dance partner for her European tour and upcoming NYC show, and a student of her former DWTS partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Sounds hot … or does it? A source close to the situation says there’s no romance between the two. “She’s joking around. He’s her trainer,” the insider tells E! Online . Just friends or not, Kirstie is clearly fond of Serge, saying: “I love my dance partner @sergeonik He understands me & is always here for me. He injects happiness, beauty & joy into my soul… #grateful.” Now that’s the right kind of attitude to go through life with. #Fact [Photo: WENN.com]

‘Dancing With The Stars’: J.R. Martinez Heats Things Up

Ricki Lake, however, wasn’t atop the leaderboard like usual. By Kelley L. Carter J.R. Martinez Photo: ABC It was, like, totally ’80s week Monday night on ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars.” The show opened with the Bangles performing a quick medley of “Eternal Flame” and “Walk Like an Egyptian” before the remaining celebrities kicked off their performances. Some of the stars grabbed their highest scores of the season, others (like constant score leader Ricki Lake) dropped a bit in rankings. Here’s how everyone fared: Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy The athlete was assigned the tango this week, and the twosome danced to Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer.” The judges found the routine to be strong, sexy and powerful. “Tango is about action and reaction. Hope: You were too willowy. You’re too willowy in the body. I don’t know how Maks controls you. Having said that, I like the aggression and the attack that you put into it,” said head judge Len Goodman. 24/30 Carson Kressley and Anna Trebunskaya Kressley said this has been the most stressful week. He took on the jive and said he couldn’t believe he was still in the game. They danced a rather colorful and cheerleader-friendly routine to Wham!’s “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go,” and the judges thought it was good, wacky fun but lacked technique. “This is a crowning achievement in madness,” Bruno Tonioli said. 19/30 Nancy Grace and Tristan Macmanus After landing one point off the bottom, the TV host took on the rumba to a Spandau Ballet track. The judges thought it was simple but very effective. Still, they wanted more and pointed out a few unstable moments. “It was appropriate. But I want to see real passion when you’re dancing. I don’t feel a connection necessarily to the dance. They’re feeling a little on the drab side to me. And I think you’re a really good dancer. I just want to see more,” Carrie Ann Inaba said. 22/30 J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff The war hero and actor danced the samba to Gloria Estefan’s “Conga,” and it took a while for the audience to simmer down. Likewise, the judges found the routine to be hot and loved his performance. “Way to go, Jose! I didn’t think you’d come out and perform anything like that, because normally guys and the samba don’t work together. But in the future, if anyone says to me how should a guy dance the dance, I’ll say just have a look at J.R,” Goodman said. 28/30 Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke The reality star took on the rumba to Lionel Richie, and the judges thought his dance to “Hello” was a very sentimental and romantic performance. “We’re starting to see Rob the heartthrob. For the first time, I see you using Cheryl as a partner, not hiding behind her, but becoming part of a unit,” Tonioli said. 25/30 Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer The duo danced the samba to Kool and the Gang’s “Get Down On It,” and unlike other weeks, the judges thought the performance was a step in the right direction. Bono was injury-free and hit the dance floor like he’s never done before. “It’s so nice to see you going strong from last week. That was the most dancing I think I’ve seen you do. Shake it, don’t break it! Good job,” Inaba said. Hard-to-please judge Goodman agreed, saying, “I think that was a gallant effort. I think you got a feel for the dance. What I liked is that you came out and really gave it a go.” 21/30 David Arquette and Kym Johnson Arquette was assigned the tango, and he and his partner performed to “Tainted Love.” He was looking to jump out from the middle of the pack and get a higher score from the judges. (It worked, he earned his highest score in the competition so far.) The judges were all unanimous in their celebration of Arquette, though Inaba and Goodman argued about whether he needed to work on his musicality. “We’re at the halfway stage now. From here on in, you have to show up or shut up. You have shown up, and it was fantastic!” Goodman said. 25/30 Ricki Lake and Derek Hough This twosome has dominated the leaderboard this season, and on Monday night, they danced the foxtrot to the Phil Collins and Philip Bailey hit “Easy Lover.” They took an ’80s-prom-like spin on the dance, and the judges thought they should have avoided doing the Roger Rabbit dance at the beginning of their routine. They felt the cheesy ’80s dance move threw off the routine. “You did the Roger Rabbit the first time, and you were way off. But when you two dance, what I love the most is how amazingly you work as a team. It’s like you’re one person,” Inaba said. 24/30 Who was your favorite celeb this week? Let us know in the comments!

‘Dancing With The Stars’: Chynna Phillips Can’t Hold On

Wilson Phillips singer joined in the bottom by reality star Rob Kardashian. By Kelley L. Carter Chynna Phillips and Tony Dovolani Photo: ABC On Tuesday night’s (October 11) “Dancing With the Stars,” the final two couples came down to Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke and Chynna Phillips and Tony Dovolani. Although she was a high-scorer early in the competition, it was the Wilson Phillips singer’s name called to head home. During Monday’s performance show, Phillips blanked and forgot her routine, and the judges — although they were fans of her work in weeks prior — had to score her lower because of it. It was movie theme week, and Phillips and Dovolani did the tango to the “Mission Impossible” song. The judges noted the mistakes Phillips made in her routine, but they were merciful in their comments, saying what she did right was beautiful and that she didn’t lose her composure. “The challenge is for the professionals,” head judge Len Goodman said after the botched routine. “They’ve got to maintain the character of the dance but still show us a little bit of the flavor of the film. I thought you got it just about right. You lost it, you went wrong, you didn’t know where you were and you panicked. I’m sure had you nailed it, it was going to be great. Unfortunately, there were a lot of mistakes.” Once her name was called, Phillips didn’t appear too shocked, considering her mistakes. “I’m disappointed, I’m sad, but I have to take responsibility. I messed up,” she said. “I have an amazing partner. I love you, Tony. You’re amazing. He’s been there for me 100 percent the entire way. I’m really grateful to have been on the show. Thank you for everyone who voted for me.” Dovolani said he tried to save his partner once he noticed she was blanking. Still, he reiterated that he was proud of her. “The first thing that crossed my mind was to try to take care of her,” he said. “It’s a live show; things happen. She finished the routine.” Were you sad to see Chynna go? Let us know in the comments.
