Will Lady Gaga Perform At The Grammy Awards?

Gaga’s choreographer sends tweets suggesting that singer will take the stage at February 13 show. By Jocelyn Vena Lady Gaga Photo: Florian Seefried/ Getty Images Could Lady Gaga be performing at the Grammy Awards? Well, if Laurieann Gibson’s tweets are to be believed, the answer could be yes. Gaga’s choreographer may have spilled the beans about a possible performance via her Twitter account on Tuesday. “Grammy meeting performance [extraordinaire]!!! On its way… TeamBoomkack,” she wrote . She followed up the tweet with a “yes” when a fan inquired if that was a hint that the Born This Way singer would be taking the stage at the big show on February 13. She also retweeted a fan’s comment expressing excitement about what Gaga and Gibson have in store for the performance. Other than Gibson’s tweets, no confirmation from Gaga or the Grammy team has been made, but the Grammy Awards do land on the same day that Gaga planned to release the first single off her May album, lending some credence to the speculation that she may take the stage at the big show. This year Gaga is up for six awards , including Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for The Fame Monster, Best Female Pop Performance and Best Short Form Music Video for “Bad Romance,” Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals for “Telephone,” her track with Beyonc

‘The beat is sick!’ one fan commented. By Jocelyn Vena Britney Spears Photo: Eric Charbonneau/Le Studio/Wireimage We’re sure there are people in the world who don’t like the new Britney Spears song, “Hold It Against Me,” but judging by the comments on several articles MTV News has posted about the track on Monday, most fans are enthralled with Spears’ latest opus about love on the dance floor. “Britney, you are amazing as always. I’m glad that you are back,” commenter Juliana Alves shared. “Loved the new song.” “She is definitely back! Her single is hot!” Ry commented. “The beat is sick! U rock, Brit!” Rus7 pointed out that at first he didn’t love “Hold It Against Me,” but then it grew on him. “The first seconds I listened to the song, I was kinda disappointed ’cause it was the same as the demo, but then the second and the third chorus, including the break, just made me change my idea. I love the final beats!” he wrote. “This song is just to be in the club. … Haha, definitely 5 stars!” Weighing in on the epic Gaga vs. Britney battle of 2011 , Adham noted that this song definitely is a tune to give Gaga a run for her money. “Omgg you guys are right, even though I still don’t think it’s good enough to beat Gaga, but wowwwwwwww!!! It’s definitely competition šŸ˜› I LOVE IT!!” LOX added, “Queen Britney! It’s just the beat, her sexy and catchy voice. … No one is like Britney. Maybe Gaga is more talented, but I’m sorry like every country … music only has one queen: BRITNEY!! You’re back, and it’s Britney B*tch!!” Ccrazy4brit

Has Cake-less Cassie Cultivated A Crazy Cult Congregation?

Cassandra Ventura has been the subject of a polarizing debate since her debut on the music scene in 2006 with her smash Myspace-turned-radio hit “Me and U”. Some love her because she’s fine as f*ck, others for her fashion sense, and some people just love to hate her. If everyone else, (besides the UK’s top rated newspaper The Guardian) had as much appreciation for non-sanging pretty ’singers’ like Cassie, she’d be a much bigger entity by now. Although Cassie doesn’t have the vocal chops comparative to your Beyonce’s and Jennifer Hudson’s, her vocals are not the worst and they work well on kinetic, infectious club beats. I’m actually shocked that the 24-year-old has a growing cult of hardcore supporters, but that would be down to the singer impacting the dance and electronic world. Apparently, a tribute mixtape was put together which involved several underground artists remixing and re-producing many of her tracks. Tri Angle Records boss Robin Carolan celebrated the new year by getting the words ā€˜Me & U’ tattooed on his arm. He states: ā€œIn her vocals, there’s a lot of space; from a producer’s point of view that’s what you want, you can completely mash it up and reconstruct itā€. The Cassie appreciation was evident when last year, English DJ-producer Deadboy released ā€˜Cash Antics Vol. 1′. The compilation remixed her vocals, and the ā€˜Skydiver’ compilation involved dubstep producers Brackles and Jacques Greene reworking her tunes. Carolan continues: ā€œFor my artists, such as oOoOO and How to Dress Well—the idea of Cassie singing on their tracks is a dream. Others might view her as a has-been, but in this world she’s a legend. It sounds like she’s trapped in ice. There’s this stillness to [her voice]. Even though she’s not forcefully singing she still demands your attentionā€. However you feel about Cassie is your business. Does she have a lil hoe swag? Maybe. Is she EVER going to have a song that matters again? Ehhhh, probably not. But will she always have your attention for one reason or another? Damn skippy! Source

Justin Bieber – Never Let You Go Lyrics and Video

Justin Bieber – Never Let You Go Lyrics and Video “Never Let You Go” Oh, no, oh, no, oh They say that hate has been sent So let loose the talk of love (of love, of love) Before they outlaw the kiss Baby, give me one last hug There’s a dream that I’ve been chasing Want so badly for it to be reality. And when you hold my hand And I understand that it’s meant to be. ’cause baby when you’re with me… It’s like an angel came by and took me to heaven (came by and took me to heaven) ’cause when i stare in your eyes it couldn’t be better (I don’t want you to go, oh no, so) [Chorus:] Let the music blast We gonna do our dance Bring the doubters on They don’t matter at all ’cause this life’s too long And this love’s too strong So baby know for sure That I’ll never let you go I got my favorite girl Not feelin’, no pain, no fear Don’t have a care in the world Why would I when you are here? There’s a moment I’ve been chasing And I finally caught it out on this floor. Baby, there’s no hesitation, no reservation By taking a chance and more, oh no, because… It’s like an angel came by and took me to heaven (came by and took me to heaven) ’cause when i stare in your eyes it couldn’t be better (I don’t want you to go, oh no, so) [Chorus] It’s like an angel came by and took me to heaven (came by and took me to heaven, girl) ’cause when i stare in your eyes it couldn’t be better (I don’t want you to go, oh no, so) Take my hand Let’s just dance Watch my feet Follow me Don’t be scared, Girl I’m here If you didn’t know, This is love Let the music blast We gonna do our dance Praise the doubters on They don’t matter at all (oh, baby) ’cause this life’s too long And this love’s too strong So baby know for sure That I’ll never let you go So don’t fear. Don’t you worry about a thing. I am here, by you (I’ll never let you go) Don’t shed a tear. Whenever you need me, I’ll be here (I’ll never let you go) Oh no, oh no, oh… (I’ll never let you go) Oh no, oh no, oh… (I’ll never let you go) Justin Bieber – Never Let You Go Lyrics and Video

‘Jersey Shore’ Star Sammi Calls Return To Seaside A ‘Roller Coaster’

‘Not all relationships have healed,’ she says of how tonight’s premiere picks up where Miami-based episodes left off. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Jim Cantiello Sammi Photo: MTV News So the love of your life starts grinding on the dance floor with other gals while you’re home in bed. Your female roomies decide to write you an anonymous letter detailing his face-sucking indiscretions. And cameras are there to capture every behind-the-back dis, he-said-she-said argument and face-buried-in-a-pillow sob session. Sounds like a bad time, no? That’s exactly what happened to Sammi in the Miami-based episodes of “Jersey Shore,” and while she’s hardly blameless in all this reality show drama, it’s hard not to feel bad for her. Especially when she cops to how everything affected her. “It was probably the worst I’ve felt,” she told MTV News. “It was a time in my life where it was just so terrible. I was really down in the dumps.” Perhaps that’s why it seemed like every episode Sammi took to her bed to whine, cry or, more often than not, both. Meanwhile, her roomies were out during the day getting their GTL on and hitting the clubs at night. But to hear Sammi tell it, often the only place she truly felt comfortable was in her bedroom. “Here I am, I have no girlfriends, the guy I love is bashing me a little bit,” she explained. “For me, it was a really emotional time. I felt really alone and I felt like I had nowhere to go, so why not go to my bed and cry. I had to do that. It was a comfort.” Things didn’t get any easier when they left Miami. The cast swept into Seaside Heights to continue filming in July, not terribly long after leaving behind that Florida sunshine. And as Sammi put it, “Not all relationships have healed.” “I was walking into this house with not really any solid relationships with anybody,” she added of filming the new episodes, which kick off on Thursday at 10 p.m. “I’m just, ‘Great, here we go, the roller coaster is going to begin as soon as we walk through that door.’ And it definitely does.” The new season of MTV’s “Jersey Shore” premieres tonight at 10 p.m. ET on MTV. Paula Abdul’s ‘Live To Dance’ Premiere Showcases Multiple Generations

Kids and seniors steal the show, as new CBS talent competition kicks off. By Kara Warner Jalen performs on “Live To Dance” on Tuesday Photo: CBS Nearly a year and a half since she left her post on the “American Idol” judges’ panel, Paula Abdul returned to television on Tuesday night with her reality dance competition, “Live to Dance.” The choreographer-turned-pop-star was joined by former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt and longtime Michael Jackson choreographer Travis Payne on the new panel for the CBS show that takes from the playbook of other talent competitions like “Idol,” “America’s Got Talent” and “So You Think You Can Dance.” “Live to Dance” begins with a large pool of contestants competing for a $500,000 price. They are to be narrowed down by the judges and then voted on by the American public. There is also a plucky Australian host, Andrew Gunsberg, who seems to be channeling a mix of “SYTYCD” host Cat Deeley and “Idol” superstar Ryan Seacrest. Tuesday’s two-hour premiere kicked off with audition rounds in Los Angeles and New York where the judges watched hopefuls of all ages, shapes and sizes. Abdul said she’s looking for the best new dance act in America — specifically bold, daring dancers who are “willing to break barriers.” Whether any barriers were broken is yet to be determined. In order for a dancer or group to move past the audition round into the semi-finals, they had to receive two out of three stars from the illustrious panel. If an act was especially convincing or received support from the audience after receiving only one of three stars, the judges had the option of changing their initial judgment in order to move that act through to the next round. Highlights included the first contestant of the evening, 9-year-old hip-hop dancer Jalen, whose energetic performance wowed the judges and made his dad cry. “You have so much joy that comes out of that face of yours,” Abdul told the little dancer. “I just want to squeeze it!” Other memorable acts were senior dancers Bev, 83, and Hap, 68, who surprised the audience with a funk/jazz routine and celebrated their three gold stars from the judges by doing victory pushups right on the stage. The last acts from the Los Angeles round that stood out were young contemporary partners Jill and Jacob, who sweetly danced around the issue of whether they were romantically linked or not. Paula Abdul superfan Stone wasn’t the most talented contestant, but because he performed his “dance” to Abdul’s hit “Forever Your Girl,” he won the audience (and Abdul) over. Though he didn’t make it, he received a hug from his idol, who told the audience that “Forever Your Girl” was a song that can only belong to one person, her father (who was shown beaming up at his daughter from the audience). And then it was time for the New York auditions. Highlights from the Big Apple included another senior, Bonnie Buchner, a 90-year-old woman who tapped her way into the audience’s heart, but not into the semi-finals. Abdul did call Buchner a “precious gift,” though. Other stand-outs were a troupe of kids dressed as creepy zombies dancing in and around a mausoleum, a contortionist who looked like he popped joints and bones out of place, a group called “Twitch” that featured a bunch of girls and one guy (Abdul told them they inspired her), and the closing act of the evening, a very young ballroom dance pair (they looked to be no more than 8 or 9 years old, if that), D’Angelo and Amanda, who admitted to “maybe” being boyfriend and girlfriend. There were definitely memorable performances, but two hours seemed a bit lengthy. We’ll have to wait and see how they continue or change the format in later episodes. And the host, if he is indeed the host, could use more to do than just chatting with contestants backstage and occasionally attempting to engage the audience. “Idol” fans who were hoping for some signature kooky Abdul moments were probably mildly disappointed that her comments were more of the sweet-and-heartfelt variety (“You are a bright ray of sunshine!”) than filled with loopy non sequiturs. But the show is young! What did you think of Paula Abdul’s “Live to Dance”? Share your reviews in the comments! Related Artists Paula Abdul

Justin Bieber’s Early Drummer Days Featured In ā€˜Never Say Never’

Friends and family talk about Bieber’s evolution as a drummer in new clip from upcoming 3-D film. By Terri Schwartz Justin Bieber in “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never” Photo: Paramount Pictures The February 11 release of John Chu’s 3-D doc “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never” is fast approaching, and in addition to the Biebs’ many tweets about the flick, we now have another glimpse at what it has in store for eager fans. A new clip from the film shows how Bieber’s talent for drums surfaced at a young age. It’s also full of more cute Bieber baby videos . “He never had any lessons or anything. I just never thought of it being anything other than for fun,” Bieber’s mother, Pattie Malette, says in the clip. Bieber’s drum collection quickly expanded from a handheld drum to a mini drum kit, and eventually, his family friends held a benefit concert and raised enough money to buy the young prodigy his own set of Pearl drums. The 16-year-old pop star made waves at the 2010 VMAs when he rocked out on the drums during his amplified set. He also showed off his skills on the skins at the 2009 Jingle Ball in Sacramento , where he played an impressive drum solo during Cobra Starship’s performance. Starship frontman Gabe Saporta, who had been trying to challenge Bieber to a dance off, tweeted after the fact, “Justin Bieber smoked me hard tonight. He couldn’t win the dance off. But he shredded a gnarly drum solo. I back this kid on the real. Legit.” Bieber wouldn’t be the first artist to start out behind the kit before his vocal capabilities propelled him to the spotlight. He joins the powerful ranks of drummers-turned-singers such as Dave Grohl, Phil Collins, Karen Carpenter, Ringo Starr and Tommy Lee.
