Sylvester Stallone Is ’99 Percent’ Sure ‘Rambo’ Franchise Is Done

‘That really was the legitimate finale,’ star says of 2008’s ‘Rambo.’ By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Sylvester Stallone Photo: Getty Images John Rambo has escaped death too many times to count. He’s survived bloody assaults from Vietnamese, Russian and Burmese soldiers, plus all manner of aggression from nefarious local law enforcement. Shoot, the guy healed his own bullet wound with nothing but a knife, a flame and some booze. So who’s to say that after four movies Rambo is done, never to return to the big screen with a truck-mounted .50-caliber machine gun blazing? Well, Sylvester Stallone, who burst our pie-in-the-spy “Rambo” dreams at the Spike Guys Choice Awards this past weekend. “I think so,” he said when MTV News asked if we’d seen the last of “Rambo.” That means the rumored plans for “Rambo V: The Savage Hunt” will likely never become a reality. Word was that the film would feature Rambo battling human traffickers and drug lords to save a girl kidnapped near the U.S.-Mexico border. Stallone was said to be gearing up both to direct and star in the flick, which would begin production in this spring. But by May, Stallone started backpedaling from not only that timeline but the stance that another “Rambo” was even necessary. Thus it seems like the conclusion of 2008’s “Rambo” — when the headband-wearing badass leaves Southeast Asia and is seen presumably returning to his family home in the U.S. — probably represents the final image in Rambo’s theatrical arc. And Sly is fine with that. “When he walked home, looked down the road, then looked straight ahead at the ranch, that really was the legitimate finale,” Stallone said. Yet he was reluctant to completely seal Rambo’s big-screen coffin. “Could anything happen?” Stallone said. “I’m 99 percent sure no. But …” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Related Artists Sylvester Stallone

Justin Bieber ‘Somebody To Love’ Remix Video Premieres Friday

An online sneak peak shows Bieber trading verses, dance moves with mentor Usher. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber on the set of his “Somebody To Love” video Photo: Island Def Jam / Popeater.com In the past, Justin Bieber has merely teased fans with funky dance moves, but in the new video for his single “Somebody to Love,” the teen pop star really lets loose, showing off some impressive choreography. The full-length clip premieres online Friday, according to Justin’s Twitter , but a sneak peak posted on PopEater.com shows Bieber and his mentor, Usher , trading moves. The remix of “Somebody to Love” promises to be a spectacle of dance. Directed by Dave Meyers (Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne) and choreographed by Jamaica, who has also worked on clips by Ciara and Usher, the video features scenes of Bieber dancing with a team of backup dancers in front of a green screen. In other scenes, he’s seen hanging out with Usher. “It’s really awesome to be able to work with professional dancers, you know people that were in like ABDC,” Bieber says in the video preview. Bieber also brags about getting the thumbs up from his choreographer: “She says that she’s proud of me.” “He’s killing it!” Jamaica chimes in, adding that she hasn’t had to give the young star any corrections. Instead of focusing on a love interest, as in past Bieber videos like “Baby,” Meyers wanted this video to be a little more playful. “Bringing Justin into the world of dance on this one, giving Justin the chance to integrate to different styles of dance,” Meyers says in the video. “So we kind of kept it simple with the art direction, just real graphic and really highlighting the dance. No big story lines, no crowds of people, just real clean.” The tune (not to be confused with tracks of the same name by Leighton Meester or Jefferson Airplane) is a dance track that finds Justin professing his love for a girl and tells her he doesn’t need much else — just her. “It’s basically about somebody to love,” Justin laughs. “It’s cool. It’s young. It’s nice. I think it’s like a universal record.” Are you excited to really see Justin dance in his new video? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Justin Bieber Usher

So You Think You Can Dance Top 11: Who’s the Top Contender?

So You Think You Can Dance pulled an American Idol -season-eight on us last night, opting to add an extra dancer to its planned contestant count. Television gets magical that way. We’re left with a pretty airtight Top 11, one that includes the right amount of contemporary, ballroom, salsa, and various performers who are always ready to cry. But only one can be the favorite going into tonight’s first competition round, and we’ve got his/her emotional performance (You’ll notice krump founder Lil’ C is weeping here) after the jump.

Lady Gaga’s ‘Alejandro’ Video: A Guide To Its Madonna References

Aside from initial ‘Vogue’ comparisons, there are traces of ‘Like a Prayer,’ ‘Human Nature’ and other Material Girl clips. By Kyle Anderson Lady Gaga in “Alejandro” Photo: Interscope Records When the brief preview for Lady Gaga’s “Alejandro” video appeared during the singer’s appearance on “Larry King Live” last week, many people immediately noticed the nod to Madonna’s “Vogue.” It was all there: the sharp black-and-white photography, the muscular dancing, the spartan set, the iconic hairstyle. It would not have shocked anybody had she simply re-enacted the “Vogue” video in its entirety. But as it turns out, the full version of “Alejandro” — which premiered Tuesday (June 8) — is a healthy combination of a number of different references, nods and homages to a bevy of Madonna videos. The “Vogue” references are certainly there, as Gaga spends a large chunk of the video in that same spartan set in black-and-white. But the rest of the clip features Gaga in a number of different costumes — including a red nun’s habit and some sort of steampunk headgear — in a handful of different scenarios (most of which involving Nazi imagery). In addition to “Vogue,” the opening sequence seems to recall Madonna’s “Evita” period (when she made “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” a hit). Gaga is dressed to mourn whomever is in the casket behind her — perhaps the titular Alejandro? — and it would be easy to assume that she’s attending a state funeral, which would mean Gaga flipped the gender roles in the original story of the Per

Justin Bieber Fever Takes Over ‘Today’ Show

Al Roker even gets a policeman to admit he’s got the fever. By Eileen Reslen Photo: Bryan Bedder/ Getty Images If a lot of young girls were absent from school on Friday morning (June 4), the cause could well be an outbreak of Bieber fever. Justin Bieber visited the “Today” on Friday morning for a free concert outside NBC studios in New York’s Rockefeller Plaza, where the teen sensation played a mini-concert featuring five of his most popular songs. The epidemic wasn’t confined to kids: As the show’s Al Roker pointed out, it wasn’t even above the law. “One question,” Roker asked a policeman. “Sergeant, do you have Bieber fever?” “Yes,” the officer answered with a smirk. “It’s official: The NYPD has Bieber fever,” Roker said. An army of Bieber fans from all over the country filled up the plaza with high-pitched voices and brightly-colored posters. “This may be the biggest crowd we’ve had for days, the show’s Matt Lauer said, to which Meredith Vierra replied, “It reminds me of Paul — Paul McCartney. So, I get it.” The broadcast was taken over by Bieber fever, with almost every segment, from the weather to interviews with celebrities, being “Bieberized.” Roker’s forecast could barely be heard above the fans’ screams, and his signature sign-off was tweaked to say, “Here’s what’s happening in your neck of the Bieberwoods!” “Get Him to the Greek” star Jonah Hill was there to promote the film, and his interview was also obscured by the teen screams. “I have Bieber fever all over my body right now,” Hill joked. Bieber rushed down from his pre-performance rehearsal and interrupted the interview to give Hill a fist-pound for his comments. Before his performance, Bieber told Lauer how much his life has changed since becoming famous. “It’s pretty crazy that now I go out and, you know, I’m always asked for autographs and stuff, but that’s kind of what I signed up for,” Bieber said. He added that his career goal is longevity. “I want to, you know, be an artist that doesn’t just come out with one song and you know, then they’re done,” Bieber said. As he performed in the humid morning air, Bieber bounced around with his background dancers through “Baby” and “One Time” and others without missing a beat, with some of his dance moves seemingly inspired by mentor Usher — he chest pumped and moon-walked across the stage. After the performance, Bieber stuck around to sign some autographs, but not before talking about his upcoming tour. “It starts in like a couple of weeks, so I’m really excited,” he said. “There’s going to be a lot of lights and a lot of, like, magic stuff, which is going to be cool.” What did you think of Justin Bieber’s appearance on the “Today” show? So You Think You Can Dance Auditions: ‘Marge Simpson’ Mania

Emergency advice: Now’s a good time to start watching So You Think You Can Dance if you haven’t. After lackluster seasons of American Idol and Project Runway , quality reality programming is making a zesty comeback in the form of Cat Deeley’s danceoff. Stellar judging, magnetic contestants, and now, a sloppy “Marge Simpson” bun on dancer Nicole Knudson are setting this show apart. We’re revisiting last night’s three greatest moments — Nicole’s startling audition (and zany body), the return of two contestants who were eliminated for contractual reasons last year, and the reemergence of an inspiring young robot.
