Lucas Cruikshank is the latest celebrity to come out as gay. The young actor – best known for roles on Nickelodeon and in a series of viral videos in which he stars as a character named “Fred” – made the announcement today alongside friend and Disney Channel star Jennifer Veal. “How come you didn’t have to make a video saying you’re straight?” Cruikshank asks his pal at one point. WWE action may be scripted, but no one saw this announcement coming: TMZ caught up with wrestler Darren Young last night and asked him whether or not a gay grappler could find success within the company. His response? “Absolutely. Look at me. I’m a WWE superstar and to be honest with you, I’ll tell you right now, I’m gay. And I’m happy. I’m very happy. As far as we know, Young is the first active wrestler in any major organization to come out as a homosexual. His announcement comes months after Jason Collins made news for also coming out as a current NBA player and a couple weeks after Raven-Symone met some online criticism after revealing herself to be a lesbian. Way to go, Darren!
