Amber Portwood Wins Joint Custody of Daughter Leah with Gary Shirley

Amber Portwood has regained joint custody of daughter Leah, her only child with ex-fiance Gary Shirley, according to a new report. The Teen Mom: OG star, 25, has finally come to an agreement with Shirley in their ongoing custody fight, which has been bitter at times. If you watch Teen Mom online , you’ve seen this play out on MTV in the past and will see it again on the new season coming in January. “Amber and Gary finally worked everything out with their lawyers a few weeks ago,” a source close to Shirley, 29, revealed to Radar . “They’re both happy” with the 50-50 custody split. Leah, 6, has lived primarily with her dad during Amber’s struggles with legal and substance abuse problems dating back to 2011. Since her November 2013 release from prison, Portwood has been trying to regain her daughter’s trust – and legal standing in her life. “I shouldn’t have to go through a custody battle for my kid!” Portwood sobs in the Teen Mom Season 5 trailer , but she’s had to do so. It’s paid off, though, thanks to her hard work. Amazingly, assuming she’s telling the truth about being three years sober, she’s become one of the more stable moms in the MTV roster. She’s engaged to Matt Baier, although that romance has come with its own share of controversy lately, and not just because he’s 44. Rumors that Baier has seven kids from previous relationships surfaced after Gary himself made the claim in a Teen Mom sneak peek. Amber defended Matt  after haters came at her on Twitter following the release of that clip … but didn’t deny the quote from Gary, either. “For anyone talking crap about this whole situation with Matt … this shit isn’t funny,” Amber wrote. “This is real life I have to deal with.” “I’m not dealing with this negative immature bullshit. I have enough to worry about. I’ll block and be done with it. Love not hate.  Learn it!” “I don’t care if I found out he had 10 kids. He has to deal with that and his past and I’ll stand by him. I’m a woman and I hold my own.” Mic drop.

Sister Wives Catfish Scandal: "Lover" Pens Tell-All

Meri Brown’s sticky wicket of an affair is getting worse. The Sister Wives  star and Kody Brown’s ex-wife was involved in a catfish debacle, where she thought she was falling in love with a man on the interwebs. In reality it was Oklahoma whack job Jackie Overton, who has just announced plans to write a 200-page book about the relationship, aptly titled Almost Meri’ed . According to Radar Online , Overton bills the tell-all as a “love story,” filled with “photos, more text snippets and lots of things” that she’s never “told anyone about the affair.” The $6 book, which Overton says will be published before Christmas, “is funny in some parts: it’s very humbling” and promises a “huge twist and surprise ending.” When they first met, Overton pretended to be a man named “Sam” and managed to make Meri fall for her. There are recordings of Meri telling “Sam” that he was “kinder and sweeter” than Kody. A source told In Touch that news of the book “could be really embarrassing for her.” Could be? “They could have had phone sex!” the source said. “It’s so scary for her that the book is being written,” “This is just humiliating for Meri to be so intimate with someone who’s really, for all intents and purposes, a very scary woman from Oklahoma.” Meri admitted to the affair on a TLC special, citing her daughter leaving for college and estrangement from Kody as the reasons for seeking out a relationship. “Meri just wants to move past this already, but she may be paying the price for her actions for a long time to come,” the source added. When the scandal unfolded, Meri released a statement to In Touch :  “During an emotional and vulnerable time earlier this year, I began speaking with someone online who turned out not to be who they said they were. “I never met this person and I regret being drawn into the situation, but I hope because of it I can help others who find themselves in similar circumstances. “Throughout this whole ordeal, my family has supported and stood by me.I am grateful to them for their love and strength through this difficult time.”

Somalian Man Angry His 12-Year-Old Was Asked If Her Backpack Had A Bomb SMH. This is so racist it makes our skin crawl. A Somalian eight grader was questioned by a teacher at Shiloh Middle School in Gwinnett County whether she was carrying a bomb in her backpack. According to AJC reports : Abdirazik Aden, who was born in Somalia, said that on Monday, his 12-year-old daughter was going to class when a teacher stopped her and asked what she had in her bookbag. He said his daughter told her books. The unidentified teacher responded by asking, her if she had a bomb in her bag? “My daughter wanted to know why she was asking her that,” he said. He said his daughter was upset when she called to tell him about the incident. He went to the school to see what happened and was told by an assistant principal that it was a mistake. “I was upset,” said Aden, who lives in Snellville and works as a truck driver and grocery store owner. “I was going to take my daughter out (of that school) “We are from Africa, we are Muslims, we live in America,” he said. “I didn’t teach my children to hate people or to think they are better than other people. I don’t want nobody to treat them like that.” We don’t blame him for being pissed. What would you do if it was your kid? Would you demand she be switched into a new class or a new school? Would you sue??? Here’s the school’s side of the story: Sloan Roach, spokeswoman, for Gwinnett County Public Schools, confirmed the incident happened. “The remark was not appropriate, but based on their conversation and investigation,” school officials don’t believe it was made with “ill intent,” Roach said. She said it was a regular teacher, not a substitute, who made the remark. The teacher was trying to get the students to put away their backpacks quickly and made the remark to the student that was basically, what do you have in there, a bomb? The school’s principal, Eli Welch, conducted an investigation and spoke with the teacher and the parent. At least they admit the remark was inappropriate. SMH. Flickr

Colorado Man Living In Homeless Shelter Wins $500,000 Lottery A 60-year-old homeless man who has been staying at a Colorado shelter for more than four years is now a $500,000 lottery winner according to Yahoo reports: Michael Engfors, of Aspen, Colo., purchased a $10 scratch-off lottery ticket at a local grocery story in Aspen last week, according to a spokesman for the Aspen Homeless Shelter. Engfors, who does occasional construction work, purchased the ticket on his own but had the shelter’s director, Dr. Vince Savage, drive him to the lottery office on Monday to collect his prize. Kelly Tabor, a spokeswoman for the Colorado Lottery, confirms that a man named Michael E. claimed the $500,000 grand prize on Monday. She said Engfors won the last of three grand prizes on the “Eternal Splendor” scratch-off lottery game. The odds of winning one of the top prizes was one in 840,000, according to Tabor. “We cut him a check and he was on his way,” Tabor told ABC News, adding that Engfors took home $355,000 after taxes. Engfors, who could not be reached for comment by ABC News, plays the lottery occasionally, usually buying $1 tickets, according to the Aspen Homeless Shelter. “He plans to find a place to live, and wants to re-connect with his daughter who he hasn’t seen in over 20 years,” said a shelter spokesperson. We hope this man takes care of himself and reconnects with with his daughter soon!

Man Who Filmed Himself Raping 6-Year-Old Daughter Sentenced To 25 Years A disgusting pervert who filmed himself raping his girlfriend’s six-year-old daughter had no remorse as he was sentenced Tuesday to 25 years to life in prison according to NY Daily News … “I don’t understand why the District Attorney is asking for a max sentence for something that did not happen,” babbled Virgilio Ocampo, 35, at his sentencing in Bronx Supreme Court. A jury found the creep guilty of predatory sexual assault in just two hours after watching his own iPhone video of the Sept. 2013 rape played at trial. The victim’s mother discovered the rapist’s sick recording of the attack still on his cell phone months later. “He videotaped it so he could watch it over and over again. He is disgusting!,” the mother wrote in a statement read aloud at sentencing. “Hell is not good enough for him,” she added in the letter. Ocampo was arrested in Jan. 2014 after fleeing to Louisiana.
