Chicago Officer Jason Van Dyke Sentenced To Just Six Years In Prison For Laquan McDonald Murder

Source: Scott Olson / Getty Jason Van Dyke Sentenced To Six Years For Laquan McDonald Shooting Chicago Police officer Jason Van Dyke has been sentenced to 81 months, (6 years and 9 months) in prison and two years of mandatory supervised release for the murder of 17-year old Laquan McDonald . Van Dyke was convicted in October of second-degree murder and 16 counts of aggravated battery, one for each shot Van Dyke fired that struck McDonald. Back in 2014, the officer shot Laquan 16 times after responding to police calls for assistance. Van Dyke claimed that he fired after McDonald failed to comply with demands to drop a knife he was holding and made a threatening move toward police. USA Today reports: Prosecutors had asked Judge Vincent Gaughan to sentence Van Dyke to a prison term of 18 to 20 years. His defense team had asked that he be released on probation Illinois state law requires he serve at least 50 percent of the sentence. He’s already served about three months as he awaited sentencing, so Van Dyke could be out of prison in a little more than three years. Since the fatal shooting, all Chicago officers are required to wear body cameras and the three officers who allegedly “covered up” his actions have been acquitted . Prosecutors suggested up to 96 years for his crime. Before the sentencing, a judge received 200 letters begging for leniency for Van Dyke and his wife emotionally read one asking that he be set free. According to her he “paid the ultimate price.” “He has paid the ultimate price. He will no longer be a police officer. His life is over,” said the wife in court. “He has paid the ultimate price. Hard Knock Life: Bill Cosby Allegedly Having Trouble Adjusting To Prison After Falling Down And Having Food Thrown At Him

(Photo by Bastiaan Slabbers/NurPhoto via Getty Images)   Cosby Allegedly Fell Down Stairs And Had Hot Dog Bun Thrown At Him On First Day It seems that Bill Cosby is apparently having a tough time adjusting to life behind bars. According to Rap Radar  Cosby spent some time complaining and pleading to his wife, Camille, after spending the first day of his 3-10 year sentence behind bars. After the sentencing Cosby was allegedly allowed a brief phone call by speakerphone to his wife, who also wasn’t in attendance. He allegedly told Camille that “they took my cane, tie and shoelaces because they think I will harm myself.” And that “he had a stale hotdog bun thrown at him and he fell down a few steps because he wasn’t being guided,” and that lastly that he was “under siege” and begged his wife to try everything to get him out from behind bars by “Grabbing the checkbook and hire anyone and everyone who could get him out as soon as possible,” says a Rap Radar source. Immediately after sentencing the 81-year-old Cosby, Judge Steven O’Neill revoked his bail and remanded him to the custody of prison officials, where he was transported to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility to serve out the remainder of his sentence.

Source: Jason Merritt / Getty Bill Cosby has now been moved to a maximum security prison.  Do you think that he should have to do his time there? via TMZ Bill Cosby is now at the prison he will call home for 3 to 10 years. Cosby’s official inmate number is NN7687. He was moved Tuesday after his sentencing to the Pennsylvania State Correctional Institution Phoenix in Schwenksville, PA. It’s significant … prison is a maximum security facility, meaning it houses some of the most violent offenders in the state. The prison is fairly new and has 3,830 beds. The judge deemed Cosby a “sexually violent predator” … which apparently was the trigger for the choice of prison.  Cosby will be housed in a single cell next to the infirmary … possibly because of his medical problems. He’s allowed phone calls and visitation consistent with prison policies.   A prison official says, “We are taking all of the necessary precautions to ensure Mr. Cosby’s safety and general welfare in our institution.” The official says the long-term goal is for Cosby to go into the general population.

Bill Cosby Might Be In Prison On Monday

View post:

O n Monday, Bill Cosby will be sentenced for his conviction  on all three counts of aggravated indecent assault for drugging Andrea Constand before he sexually assaulted her at his Philadelphia home in 2004. The legendary comedian might be headed to prison that same day. READ MORE: Full Coverage Of Bill Cosby’s Retrial For Sexual Assault After he was found guilty in April , prosecutors asked for Cosby to be incarcerated immediately, but the judge released him on $1 million bail and ordered him to stay his home until the sentencing. Now, according to TMZ , “Authorities connected to the case tell TMZ … prosecutors will push for the disgraced comedian/felon to be immediately hauled off to prison once the judge sentences him Monday AM.” Cosby will be sentenced at Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas and the 81-year-old is facing 30 years in prison. Over several decades, he has been accused of assaulting over 60 women. Constand and at least five other accusers will be at the sentencing but they will not be able to testify. According to NBC News , “Cosby’s lawyers opposed the request for additional accusers to testify at the sentencing hearing. Judge O’Neill agreed, writing in his order that in an ‘exhaustive review’ of state case law he found nothing allowing him to consider ‘uncharged conduct” at the sentencing.” Cosby’s legal team is appealing the verdict and if he is allowed to be released while fighting for an appeal, he will more than likely never be in prison. ‘Blackout Drunk’ Mom Mistook Her 11-Year-Old Son For Her Boyfriend And Molested Him

Drunk Mom Sentenced To A Year In Jail For Molesting 11-Year-Old She Mistook For Boyfriend While some people do crazy things when drunk, this 39-year-old mother got so damn lit that she somehow thought her 11-year-old son was her boyfriend and guided his little hands down to her vagina, among other things. Now the woman, who wasn’t identified to protect her traumatized son, will be spending a year in county jail. Via WHMI A Livingston County woman has been sentenced in a molestation case involving her son. The 39-year-old Fowlerville, Michigan woman was reportedly “blackout drunk” when the incident occurred in May of 2014 and she molested her 11-year-old son. The victim says his mother asked him to sleep in her bed and he awoke to her touching him. The mother apparently then guided her son’s hands to inappropriate places on her body, thinking it was her boyfriend. The woman reportedly stated the name of her boyfriend during the incident and the victim says it was the only time anything like that ever happened. A couple of months later, the boy told his grandfather about the molestation and his grandfather reported it to authorities. The woman was sentenced in Livingston County Circuit Court recently and ordered to serve one year in the Livingston County Jail with a credit of 85 days served and five years of probation. In a plea deal reached with prosecutors, she pleaded guilty to a charge of 2nd degree criminal sexual conduct. In exchange, a separate count of 3rd degree child abuse was dismissed. She must register under the Sex Offender Registry Act for life and has had her parental rights of the victim and her other child terminated. The defense maintained the woman did not intentionally sexually assault her son and says the mother has been diagnosed with clinical depression and excessive alcohol use contributed to the event. The defendant claims to have no memory of the incident. The woman’s attorney says before the “troubling events” that led to the sentencing, the woman was a “well-functioning citizen of the community”. Hopefully, her son is in therapy. Shutterstock

Man Who Filmed Himself Raping 6-Year-Old Daughter Sentenced To 25 Years A disgusting pervert who filmed himself raping his girlfriend’s six-year-old daughter had no remorse as he was sentenced Tuesday to 25 years to life in prison according to NY Daily News … “I don’t understand why the District Attorney is asking for a max sentence for something that did not happen,” babbled Virgilio Ocampo, 35, at his sentencing in Bronx Supreme Court. A jury found the creep guilty of predatory sexual assault in just two hours after watching his own iPhone video of the Sept. 2013 rape played at trial. The victim’s mother discovered the rapist’s sick recording of the attack still on his cell phone months later. “He videotaped it so he could watch it over and over again. He is disgusting!,” the mother wrote in a statement read aloud at sentencing. “Hell is not good enough for him,” she added in the letter. Ocampo was arrested in Jan. 2014 after fleeing to Louisiana. BOSSIP Exclusive: L&HHNY’s Mendeecees Drug Trafficking Sentence Delayed

Mendeecees Copped To Major Drug Slinging Last Spring; Faces Up To 40 Years Love & Hip Hop New York’s Mendeecees Harris has been given a little bit more time to enjoy life on the outside. The admitted drug kingpin and father of two has had his sentencing hearing for drug trafficking delayed until the Fall, BOSSIP can reveal. Harris, who earlier this year pled guilty to felony conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute, was supposed to be sentenced Aug. 31 in New York State Federal Court, but the sentencing hearing was pushed back until Oct. 2. “It was the judge’s schedule,” Harris’ lawyer, Donald Thompson, told BOSSIP. “We didn’t have any control over it.” The government contended that Harris helped operate a large drug dealing operation that funneled huge quantities of cocaine and heroin from New York City to upstate New York. Under his plea deal, Harris could get anywhere from five to 40 years in prison, as well as a $5 million fine. Thompson said it wasn’t yet clear how much time Harris was going to do. “As we get closer, we’ll have a better idea,” he said. “We don’t have anything firmed up. In the meantime, Harris is keeping busy with work and family, Thompson said. “He seems to be doing well,” he said. “They’re filming the new season, he’s doing a lot of public appearances.”
