Whitney Houston’s Daughter Bobbi Kristina Rushed To Hospital

Eighteen-year-old daughter of Houston and Bobby Brown was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles on Sunday, according to reports. By Rob Markman Whitney Houston and her daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown Photo: Steve Granitz/ WireImage In a most dramatic turn of events it is being reported that Whitney Houston’s 18-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital today, less than 24 hours after her mother was found dead in a Beverly Hills, California, hotel. According to TMZ , Bobbi Kristina, who was Houston’s only child with ex-husband Bobby Brown, was taken to Cedars-Sinai Hospital on Sunday afternoon (February 12). She was taken out on a stretcher from the Beverly Hilton, the same hotel where her mother reportedly died. Unnamed law enforcement sources confirmed to TMZ that police responded to a call for a medical emergency, but would not confirm that the person transported was Houston’s daughter. In a statement issued to MTV News the Houston family expressed their grief in this trying time. “We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Whitney. This is an unimaginable tragedy and we will miss her terribly,” the statement read. “We appreciate the outpouring of love and support from her fans and friends.” It was reported on Saturday that Bobbi Kristina got into a shouting match with police officers after she was denied entry into the fourth-floor room where her mother had died. TMZ reported she demanded to see her mother’s body, but police informed her that no one was allowed to see the body. Houston’s cousin, singer Dionne Warwick, was also turned away. Bobbi Kristina’s dad, Bobby Brown, was also distraught over the death of the pop and R&B diva. While performing a Mississippi concert with his band New Edition on Saturday night, Brown was visibly shaken but still managed to address the crowd, telling fans that their support for New Edition over the years was the only thing that allowed him to get through the show. “First of all, I want to tell you that I love you all,” he said. “Second, I would like to say, ‘I love you Whitney.’ The hardest thing for me to do is come on this stage.” MTV News’ Sway and James Montgomery will be live from the Grammys red carpet tonight starting at 5 p.m. ET to get reactions from music’s biggest stars on the death of Whitney Houston. Whitney Houston In 1999: ‘I Didn’t Know How To Say No’

Singer worries to John Norris about letting down her millions of fans. By James Dinh Whitney Houston during interview with John Norris in 1999 Photo: MTV News Whitney Houston ‘s road to superstardom wasn’t without sacrifices, and that was something the late icon realized during her career. In the midst of the shocking news that the megastar had died Saturday afternoon (February 11), MTV News is taking a look back at a 1999 interview, in which the singer/actress opens up about career lessons like learning how to say no. “I got that singer thing, where your cords get so swollen and they want to take a break,” an energetic Houston tells MTV News’ John Norris about her condition after canceling shows due to sickness. Donning sunglasses and a short brown bob, Houston calls herself “soft” when reminiscing about memories like her Greatest Love World Tour (her first headlining world tour) because of her then-desire to be a people-pleaser. “I’m pretty stern about my convictions and what I mean,” the diva explains during the Boston tour stop. “But when it comes down to certain things, I didn’t know how to say no. I didn’t, because there’s a lot of people out there.” Asked what goes through her head prior to performing a show, Houston says, “What really goes through my head is what note am I really going to, like, really start off with. You know what I mean? Just from the groove of my show. I know the show. They don’t know the show.” From career lessons to her love life, Houston also chatted about then-husband Bobby Brown, saying the former New Edition frontman turned her shows into a family affair when they made stops in his hometown of Boston. “I got so many Brown relatives here. You kidding me? Oh my God! And there’s a lot of them. But he has a lot of fam here. It should be a good gig.” Share your condolences with Whitney’s family and friends on our Facebook page. Whitney Houston’s Final Film ‘Sparkle’ Set To Be Released In August

The remake, in which she plays Jordin Sparks’ mom, wrapped filming before the singer’s untimely death. By Kara Warner Jordin Sparks and Whitney Houston in “Sparkle” Photo: Alicia Gbur/ Stage 6 Films The news of Whitney Houston’s death Saturday has left those who loved her reeling, with a multitude of celebrity fans and friends expressing their grief publicly. Houston’s untimely passing on the eve of the Grammy Awards has shocked everyone, nearly extinguishing the normally festive atmosphere in Los Angeles surrounding the music industry’s biggest night. While fans will unfortunately not have the opportunity to see her sing live again, Houston’s legacy will live on via her final film, “Sparkle,” which is scheduled to be released by Sony in August as planned. A rep for the studio expressed deep sympathy for the loss of the icon to MTV News. “Like all those who knew and loved her, we are shocked and saddened and the world has lost an incomparable talent. Right now our thoughts are with her daughter, her family and her friends.” The film’s producer, Bishop T.D Jakes, also expressed his sadness upon hearing the news: “We are deeply saddened by the tragic and untimely passing of Whitney Houston, whom we were blessed to have just completed work with on the remake of the film ‘Sparkle.’ We ask the world to join us in lifting up Whitney’s family in prayer and ask God for their strength and comfort during this devastatingly difficult time,” Bishop wrote in a statement. “At the apex of her career, Whitney had no peer, with a voice that shaped a generation. She has left behind a musical and film legacy that will endure. … She will be sorely missed by us all.” “Sparkle” is a remake of the 1976 Irene Cara film about three talented young musicians who struggle with addiction. The 2012 version features “American Idol” alum Jordin Sparks as the titular character Sparkle and Houston, who also served as executive producer after having acquired the rights to the film more than a decade ago, as her mother, Emma. Houston’s co-producer on the project, Howard Rosenman, told the Los Angeles Times he was in total shock upon hearing the news. “I have no idea about the impact [of Houston’s death] on ‘Sparkle,’ which I saw last night,” he told the newspaper of screening a rough cut of the recently wrapped film. “[Houston] was unbelievably fantastic in it.” “Sparkle” was Houston’s first movie in 16 years, since her performance alongside Denzel Washington in the 1996 holiday feel-good film “The Preacher’s Wife.” Her most memorable and celebrated role was in the 1992 romantic drama “The Bodyguard.” Share your condolences with Whitney’s family and friends on our Facebook page. Whitney Houston: A Timeline Of Her Troubles

Late singer’s personal life was marred with controversy. By Rob Markman Whitney Houston performs at the 2004 World Music Awards Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images Through her music, Whitney Houston spread messages of joy, hope and love. Her career will be celebrated by her spirited discography with #1 hits like “Greatest Love of All,” “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” and “I Will Always Love You.” On Saturday (February 11), the iconic Houston was found dead in a Los Angeles hotel. Inside the studio, her musical legacy stands as an everlasting ray of light. Outside of it however, Whitney Houston ‘s life was marred by controversy and tabloid fodder. It became increasingly difficult to separate her legendary track record with her troubles. 1992 : On July 18, Houston marries R&B star Bobby Brown. Rumors of drug abuse begin to surface in the years to come. In a 2009, two years after their divorce, Houston goes in-depth about the couple’s volatile relationship on “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” 2000 : In the 1980s and 1990s, Houston was an American sweetheart, releasing #1 singles, involving herself in multiple charities and singing the national anthem at the Super Bowl in 1991. Houston’s troubles with the law begin at the turn of the new millennium after security in Hawaii’s Keahole-Kona Airport finds marijuana in her handbag in January. She is hit with a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge, but it’s dropped months later. 2001 : Rampant rumors of drug use swirl around Houston, and after she appeared thinner than usual during a Michael Jackson commemorative concert, the tabloids have a field day. Houston’s then-publicist refutes rumors that the singer had died of a drug overdose. “Whitney has been under stress due to family matters, and when she is under stress, she doesn’t eat,” the publicist says in a statement. Look back at Whitney Houston’s life in photos 2002 : In a “Primetime” interview with Diane Sawyer, Houston addresses the rumors of her drug use. While she admits to using alcohol, marijuana, cocaine and prescription drugs, the vibrant vocalist emphatically denies reports that she’s addicted to crack. “Crack is cheap. I make too much for me to ever smoke crack,” she says. “Let’s get that straight, OK? I don’t do crack. I don’t do that. Crack is whack.” 2004 : Even after her gut-wrenching interview with Dianne Sawyer, Houston’s drug problems persist. In 2004, for the first reported time, she enters a facility for drug rehabilitation . She would once again return to rehab a year later in 2005. 2007 : Many attributed Houston’s troubles to her rocky marriage to Bobby Brown . In 2006, she filed for divorce , and the next year, she officially splits from the New Edition frontman, winning custody of their daughter Bobbi Kristina. 2009 : During a September 2009 sit-down with Oprah Winfrey, Houston opens up about her relationship with Brown. “He was my drug,” she tells Oprah. Houston admits to getting high with her ex-husband and even revealed that Brown had slapped her in the past. 2010 : In the 2000s, Houston had begun to lose her footing in music, but in 2010, she hits the road on her Nothing But Love comeback tour . The run is marred by bad reviews. 2011 : In May, the singer, still battling drug and alcohol abuse, voluntarily enrolls in an outpatient rehabilitation program . 2012 : On Saturday, February 11, Houston is found dead at age 48 in a Los Angeles hotel. While her troubles were well-documented, she left behind an equally unforgettable musical legacy. Share your condolences with Whitney’s family and friends on our Facebook page . Katy Perry: What Will She Look Like At The Grammys?

Singer’s hair colorist tells MTV News that she’s hoping Perry will want to keep her locks blue for the big show. By Jocelyn Vena Katy Perry Photo: Theo Wargo/ Getty Images is currently rocking turquoise blue hair (after initially shocking the world with a deeper blue hue back in January). Considering she’s not only up for two awards at the Grammy Awards on Sunday but is also hitting the stage for what’s sure to be a colorful, candy-coated performance, Perry could be showing off a completely different hair color this weekend. To get the scoop on what color hair Perry might be donning when she hits the red carpet at the Grammy Awards, we asked her longtime hair colorist, Rita Hazan. “I’m kind of feeling the blue right now, so I’m hoping we’re gonna be on that same page because I really think it’s really hot and it’s working for her,” she told MTV News. “So I’m assuming that we’re going to be staying with the blue for the Grammys, but you never know. “The night before it could be a whole different story,” she continued, laughing. “It depends, maybe she gets a dress she wants to match her hair to, but I feel like she’s going to rock the blue and find a dress to match the hair, which I absolutely love about her.” Hazan and Perry are quite the hair-color scientists. The blue hair was only the latest “vision” the twosome has dreamed up for the always up-for-anything Perry. “The thing with Katy, she has a feeling, she follows her gut, her instinct and she’s very fashion, she’s trendy, but that’s really naturally who she is,” Hazan said. “She doesn’t try to do anything, she just does it and it works for her and I think because she’s such an iconic girl, people just want to copy and do whatever she does. “With Katy, you never know. Between her and myself we get these crazy middle-of-the-night visions,” she continued. “You never know what happens. I just think watch out, something’s going to happen next and I don’t even know what it is.” Perry aside, Hazan thinks that everyone who attends the show is going to step up their game and go all-out when it comes to their hair. “I think that people are going to be a little bit over-the-top and extravagant,” she said. “I don’t think it’s going to be very calm or pretty hair. I think people are going to go for it.” Chaos! Profanity! Wardrobe malfunctions! Don’t miss our Grammy red-carpet live stream this Sunday, February 12, for a full three hours of mayhem, starting at 5 p.m. ET on MTV.com. ‘Breaking Dawn – Part 2’ Exclusive Clip Premieres

‘I loved Bella’s piercing red eyes … I’m even more excited for ‘Part 2′ now,’ fan Cynthia Rodriguez says of teaser debut at NYC Target store. By Erin Strecker Fans watch a clip from “Breaking Dawn – Part 2” at Target in Brooklyn, New York, on Friday Photo: Erin Strecker/ MTV News Vampires may come out after dark, but there weren’t any bloodsuckers at the Brooklyn, New York, Target store Friday night — just roughly a hundred women (and a few guys) who wanted to meet one. The crowd was anxiously waiting to pick up the DVD of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1,” which was released at midnight. But it wasn’t just the thrill of re-watching Bella and Edward’s honeymoon that had these NYC Twi-hards — some of whom had been in line since 8 p.m. — bubbling with the kind of excitement normally reserved for a newborn vamp chasing his first kill. At 11 p.m., as promised, exclusive footage from “Breaking Dawn – Part 2” was shown for the first time at 500 Target stores nationwide. “Part 1” may have featured a wedding, but the fandom wars over who should have Bella’s heart were still raging on as the countdown to new footage began, with passionate discussions about Team Edward and Team Jacob popping up throughout the crowd. Friends Patrice Waite, 21, and Cynthia Rodriguez, 22, may not be able to agree on matters of vampire vs. werewolves, but the duo, who lovingly refer to themselves as “Team Switzerland,” can agree that they are psyched to see “Part 2,” even as they reminisced over “Part 1” scenes such as the romantic wedding and the intense birth of Renesmee. “In a perfect world,” Waite said, “the scene [I want to see tonight] would be when they are at the cottage, and they go all out [having sex], breaking walls and stuff.” “I want to see more of Renesmee [in Part 2]” Lauren Perciballi, 25, said. “I’m anxious to see how that works out because it’s a vampire/human, so she’s growing at a rapid pace. I’m interested to see the special effects behind that.” The actual clip may have been sex-and-Renesmee-free, but the five-minute-long tease certainly worked to entice fans gearing up for the premiere of “Part 2” next November. Aside from some behind-the-scenes shots of Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner preparing for battle in the woods, the full, exclusive-to-Target scene is from early on in the movie, when Bella discovers a note in a book with instructions from Alice, explaining what to do to get new passports. The clip showcases a heart-to-heart between Edward and Bella and features a swoon-worthy kiss that made the audience scream. The best part? Judging from fan reaction, it was the first shot of vampire Bella, whose red eyes and special-effect-aided speed definitely enticed Twi-hards to be even more excited for the next chapter in the saga. “[The clip] was good,” Waite said. “Of course, it was just a little clip, making us want more. I wasn’t expecting that, but it was pretty good. I loved seeing [vampire Bella] zoom across the room.” Rodriguez agreed. “I loved Bella’s piercing red eyes. I thought they did a good job [with the vampire stuff]. I’m even more excited for ‘Part 2’ now.” Not everyone at the event was a vampire lover though. Special sneak peek or not, the fandom wars continue on. While Kimberlee Imperato was excited about the special footage and loved newly vamped Bella, her daughter, 14-year-old BaileeAnn Darbasie, wasn’t impressed. “[My mom] dragged me here,” she explained. “I’m a Harry Potter fan.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com .
