We've certainly seen the toxic mess that was her relationship with Matt Baier. But now that she's currently in the middle of both a criminal case and a custody case stemming from her alleged assault of Andrew Glennon in July, even more things are coming out about her. Yikes She beat him with a shoe, which she admitted to doing, and police have photos of bruises and scratches from that, and he even claimed that she attempted suicide by taking a handful of pills that she later threw up after he threatened to call the police. In order for viewers to tune into a TV show, there has to be drama. These 13 shows courted controversy throughout their time on the air. Some of the scandals resulted in the shows getting canceled, while some of the shows are still on the air. Have a look below. 1. Teen Mom The Teen Mom franchise has been a ratings winner for MTV. The show has stirred up much controversy over the years. From Jenelle Evans’ multiple arrests to some things we’d rather not speak about from Farrah Abraham’s life, the series has beaten the odds. The moms at the helm of the series seem to court controversy wherever they go. Maybe it just comes with the territory. 2. Buckwild Reality TV is more successful for MTV than anything else. Buckwild was like a mashup of Jersey Shore and Jackass. Some of the content was a cause for concern and there was much viewer backlash. A second season was ordered, but cast members started getting in trouble with the law. Things took a harrowing turn when cast member, Shain Gandee, tragically died of carbon monoxide poisoning. MTV ultimately pulled the plug while filming the second season. 3. Toddlers & Tiaras The world has mixed feelings about beauty pageants, so you can imagine the backlash when TLC launched Toddlers & Tiaras — a show that pretty much exploited young children. The most controversial moment, however, involved one young girl dressing up as Julia Roberts’ prostitute character from Pretty Woman. 4. Here Comes Honey Boo Boo This is a spin-off of Toddlers & Tiaras, and let’s just say it was filled with just as much controversy. The series was canceled when Mama June reportedly rekindled her relationship with the sex offender who allegedly molested her daughter. 5. 19 Kids & Counting The Duggar clan have been around for years, and it quickly became clear that they were hiding many secrets behind closed doors. TLC canceled the series after reports emerged, claiming that Josh Duggar molested a number of young women, including his own sisters. 6. Boy Meets Boy This series could have been a Bachelor for same-sex couples, but it was one of the most irresponsible series on the air. It focused on a man looking for love and eliminating the men who he did not feel a connection with. However, the producers thought it would be a good idea to have straight men in the mix. Farrah Abraham travels the world, both to attend various gigs and to continue hiding from process servers to avoid being sued . One fan expressed her desire to travel abroad just once, and asked Farrah if she could somehow help her get her dream Honeymoon. Farrah could have said yes, or ignored the request. Instead, Farrah openly mocked the woman for being poor. A commenter reached out to Farrah upon seeing her visit some of the most romantic and popular sights in Europe. “Would u give me a honey moon my husband and I [couldn’t] afford one we both work full time,” one fan begins. The fan and her husband “have 4 kids between us and do everything we can for them.” “It’s hard to do anything for us or get a chance away from work,” the commenter laments. She concludes: “I was a teen mom myself and went thru my journey while watching yours.” Farrah could have just ignored the comment and moved on. Instead, she had to type her reply. “Either [you’re] marrying the wrong guy or you wished you were marrying me…” Farrah’s cruel reply begins. (Yes, there’s a lot to unpack just in that sentence … we’ll get to that) Her nasty response continues: “My honey moon this week is Venice ITALY & PARIS FRANCE.” Farrah didn’t just write that reply, but she shared a screenshot to ensure that her followers could see how unkind she can really be. First of all, in case you missed it, Farrah’s reading comprehension skills are about as lacking as her writing. It’s possible that everything that she writes looks like word salad nonsense because she’s writing at her reading level. This woman is already married. She and her husband — not fiance — were unable to afford a honeymoon back when they did get married. But Farrah interprets this woman as someone who is engaged. Oh, Farrah. The mockery in her response is much more shameful than her simple misinterpretation. Farrah tells this woman that she’s marrying the wrong man … because he can’t afford to splurge on a honeymoon to Europe. In real life, there are lots of reasons to marry. Prioritizing someone’s personal wealth over all else can lead to a lifetime of affluent misery. Farrah just decided to insult this woman’s husband and judgment at the same time. As if that weren’t enough, she goes on to brag about visiting Venice and Paris for a “honeymoon” of her own. The woman already knew Farrah’s itenerary. She didn’t have to rub it in her own fan’s face. But this isn’t surprising or shocking behavior — not coming from Farrah, if you’re familiar with her personality and pattern of behavior. Vicious bullying and unabashed bragging are two things that Farrah does as easily and as readily as breathing. It’s really no wonder that Farrah is such a Trump fan , you know? They share the same shaky grasp of the English language and of reality, and neither seems to fully understand that other people really, truly exist . Instead, Tyler Baltierra and Catelynn Lowell actually had a chance to sit down with their first child's adoptive parents for an unusual on-ait interview. Donald Trump’s relationship with his children has been a subject of intense scrutiny for several years now. As far as we can tell, the family dynamic breaks down like this: Ivanka is the obvious favorite, and in a more permissive time and place, she would likely wind up replacing her father’s mysteriously-slain wife in an ill-defined role, after Milania was snuffed out in a nefarious plot straight out of Shakespeare or George R.R. Martin. Don Jr., of course, is his father’s right-hand man and future fall guy, and as much as the sight of his shaved ferret visage might cause your lunch to rise in the back of your throat, the thought of him still defending his dad in his third or fourth year of sporting a county orange jumpsuit should give you a chuckle. Eric — what can we say about Eric that hasn’t already been said about Lenny in Of Mice and Men ? He might mean well, but he should not be trusted around children or small animals. Barron is just trying to maintain, and we very much look his Mommie Dearest -esque memoir about his years in the White House. And then there’s Tiffany — the most mysterious of the Trump children. For the most part, Tiff managed to keep a low profile during the years in which her father transitioned from harmless reality TV punchline to dangerous demagogue punchline. Prior to that transformation, Tiffany tried to make it as a singer , but she was held back by uncertainty within the music industry and the fact that she’s utterly lacking in anything resembling talent. In the year’s since her father rode a wave of white supremacist furor — sorry, “economic anxiety” — to the White House, Tiffany has been embroiled in the occasional mini-scandal here and there, but it’s usually just the usual gross nonsense we’ve come to expect from her dad, such as the time video emerged of Donald discussing Tiffany’s future breasts when she was a baby. (Again, the remnants of your most recent sandwich burbling up to your uvula is the appropriate response here.) It’s great for Tiff that she’s been able to distance herself from her sundowning dad, but the reason he’s allowed her to do so is undeniably sad. By all accounts, Donald simply doesn’t like Tiffany . The nature of their tempestuous relationship was essentially confirmed this week when a White House assistant named Madeline Westerhout made some off the record comments about Tiffany at a New Jersey golf club while in the company of reporters. “She had a couple drinks and in an uncharacteristically unguarded moment, she opened up to the reporters,” one insider told Politico. Specifically, Westerhout claimed that the president does not like to be photographed with Tiffany due to the fact that he considers her overweight. Westerhout was promptly fired for her comments, and Trump refuted the claim while speaking with reporters over Labor Day weekend. “I love Tiffany,” the president said, adding that she’s “great person,” which might be the most half-assed fatherly sentiment in history. Donald added that Westerhout’s comments are “absolutely false” and “hurtful.” “While Madeleine Westerhout has a fully enforceable confidentiality agreement, she is a very good person and I don’t think there would ever be reason to use it,” he later tweeted. “She called me yesterday to apologize, had a bad night. I fully understood and forgave her! I love Tiffany, doing great!” You know he had to cut himself off before adding: “I’m a very Forgiving President, folks. The televisionw world is in mourning. Valerie Harper, a veteran actress best known for having played one of TV’s most popular and enduring characters died on Friday after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was 80 years old. Harper enjoyed a long and highly respected acting career. However, she will forever be remembered for taking on the role of the constantly dating, constantly dieting Rhoda Morgenstern on The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Her passing was confirmed late Friday via statement on behalf of the late star’s husband, Tony Cacciotti: It read as follows: “My dad has asked me to pass on this message: ‘My beautiful caring wife of nearly 40 years has passed away at 10:06am, after years of fighting cancer. “She will never, ever be forgotten. Rest In Peace, mia Valeria. -Anthony.” Harper had been dealing with a number of health issues over the past few years, including leptomeningeal carcinomatosis, lung cancer and brain cancer. On July 8, just about two months before she died, a family friend set up a GoFundMe page titled “The Valerie Harper Cancer Support Fund.” It was meant to assist Harper with her daily “unrelenting medical costs” so that she would receive “the best care possible.” Within the first week, the campaign had raised over $40,000 from friends, family and many of Harper’s long-time fans and supporters. Back in 2013, the actress was given a mere three months to live after being diagnosed with leptomeningeal carcinomatosis, an extremely rare condition in which cancer cells spread to the membranes surrounding the brain. And yet: She defied the odds after undergoing chemotherapy treatments, even competing on Dancing With the Stars later that same year. Incredibly. “People are saying, ‘She’s on her way to death and quickly,’” she told Fox News in September of 2017. “Now it’s five years instead of three months.” Harper debuted in her iconic role the kooky neighbor from New York on The Mary Tyler Moore Show in 1970. She won the Emmy for Best Supporting Actress that same year, despite the comedy struggling in the ratings at first. From 1974 through 1978, she anchored the spin-off Rhoda, later winning the Best Actress Emmy. When this character got married on October 28, 1974, the special hour-long episode destroyed ratings records with 52 million viewers. The actress also starred on Valerie (also titled Valerie’s Family and The Hogan Family), in addition to films such as Freebie and the Bean and Chapter Two. She earned a Tony Award nomination in 2010 for her performance as Tallulah Bankhead in Looped. Harper is survived by Tony, whom she married in 1987, and their daughter, Cristina. A number of The Real Housewives of Orange County castmates seem to agree: Kelly Dodd is the one to beat this season. But Kelly has her own life outside of the show, and has just made one major change. She and Dr. Brian Reagan have broken up, though it's not entirely clear who made that call. Kelly Dodd was clearly enjoying herself on a girls' night out when she took to her Instagram Stories to share some news. “The universe is telling me I broke up with Dr. Brian, woo!” Kelly announced. Disclaimer: despite her demeanor and the way that she repeated things, we cannot speak to whether or not she had been drinking. “And,” Kelly continued. “They all know why.” “This is why I’m breaking up with Brian for good,” she said without further explanation. “This is the last time,” Kelly continued, speaking on her Instagram Story. That sort of declaration could refer to anything from being late to dinner to domestic abuse and all that falls in between. “No going back to this a–hole,” she affirmed. “At all.” “Here’s our song. I broke up with Dr. Brian,” Kelly announced as Queen's “Another One Bites The Dust played. Triumphantly, she declared: “Another one bites the dust!” Late on Thursday, Kelly took to a regular Instagram post a more … calm and thoughtful acknowledgement of the split. “Dr. Brian Reagan posted that we broke up,” Kelly's caption begins. That's a very different tone than we were hearing in her Stories, and almost seems to imply that it was his call and not hers. “I’m deeply saddened,” she continues. “And I only wish him the best !!” “Good Luck,” Kelly expressed. “You are a talented surgeon!! I loved you deeply.” Just a little over a week ago, Kelly was singing a very different tune as she spoke to Us Weekly . “We have fun together,” Kelly shared. “And,” she continued. “We love our families together and we blend their families.” Kelly added that she felt “like we have a modern family.” “My daughter loves him,” she added. “And I love his son.” “There’s just so many benefits,” Kelly referred to in terms of dating Dr. Brian. One such benefit, she pointed out, was that “he lives in La Jolla.” “So it’s fun to go to La Jolla,” Kelly assessed. “Just a change of atmosphere.” However, Kelly apparently realized that Dr. Brian was benefitting from their relationship, too. “He wanted his business on the show. I was just a means to get there,” Kelly alleged in comments. “And I only realized that after I caught him cheating on me,” she lamented. “And realized he's been seeing someone else all along.” Dr. Brian has, for the record, totally denied using her for fame and the allegation of cheating. He seems to want to move on — and he's not alone in that. It is now reported that Kelly is dating journalist Rick Leventhal. In case that sounds rushed, note that Kelly has since clarified that she and Dr. Brian actually broke up on August 3 after 9 months of on-again, off-again. She and Rick apparently met in the Hamptons, and she already feels more “respected” by him than she did by Dr. Brian. Get it, girl.
Today marks day six of the complicated drama between Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth, Brody Jenner, and Kaitlynn Carter, so let’s get to it. If you are a dedicated entertainment news junky, please skip the recap. If not, allow me to catch you up: Brody and his “wife” Kaitlynn, of one year, announced their split two weeks ago . Then, the model headed off on a vacation (bc fake divorce is hard, ok?) with none other than Miley Cyrus. Miley and Liam, who have been married for a short eight months, have also split . And hours after that news broke, Miley and Kaitlynn were photographed kissing on a boat in Italy . OK, that’s pretty much everything — along with a few stabs made here and there — but we should all be on the same page now. To add to the already complicated and shocking news, another player has joined the game. That’s right, Brody Jenner’s mother Linda Thompson is now involved and has something to say about her daughter-in-law’s recent actions. And it’s getting shady, people. Here’s how it all began: Earlier this week, Linda posted a quote from the Dalai Lama that read, “Silence is sometimes the best answer.” In the comment section, Linda’s followers offered their support while also completely dragging Miley and Kaitlynn in the process. But instead of ignoring them, the mom was out here “liking” these savage Instagram comments. “I think both boys, Liam and Brody, must be hurting… the girls clearly had no regard for them by allowing their display to be made public,” read one comment that she Liked. Oh, and she also felt the need to show her support on a comment that said, “His happiness someday will be HER misery.” Um, ouch. She also Liked a third comment that linked to a blogs article claiming that the photos were set up by Kaitlynn, just to get more followers. Double ouch. And to make things even more awkward, Kaitlynn saw all of it. Linda later posted a photo (which honestly just made things more confusing and seemed a tad hypocritical) of a second quote to Instagram. This one read: Please don’t judge people. You don’t know what it took someone to get out of bed, look and feel presentable as possible and face the day. You never truly know the daily struggles of others.” But one comment stuck out, and yes — it was from Kaitlynn! “EXACTLY.” she fired. When Linda saw her comment she quickly stepped down , making it clear that she didn’t mean any harm to Kaitlynn and that she will always hold a special place in her heart. No grudges here. Her first comment was a basic purple heart emoji. But don’t worry, the second one had more thought behind it. “And for the record, honey, the only ‘shade’ I throw is my own shadow walking away from drama,” she snarked. Adding, “You know I love you. I always have & always will,” with a couple more heart emojis. Classic Linda. Whether or not Kaitlynn even saw her response is unknown, but we think she is pretty unbothered because she is living things up with Miley back in LA. According to E! News, the two are still hanging out and are bonding over their recent splits. Neither are interested in getting serious right now, and they are “truly having fun,” says a source. Audrey Roloff is pregnant with her second child. And this is what we know about the impending baby: It is due on January 8, 2020 and both parents are very excited to meet him or her. This is what we don’t know, however: Whether the little one will be a boy or a girl. It could go either way, really. We’ll soon find out the answer it seems, considering Audrey shared the photo above on her Instagram account and included with it a caption that reads: Pretty soon we get to find out the gender of this precious little love growing inside of me, so…. before you find out here soon…. cast your vote in the comments! YES by Free Britney Their baby will be either be born a boy or a girl, and Jer and Auj don’t seem like the types of people who will let Ember’s sibling choose its own gender. A Boy by Tyler Johnson When you spend your days lurking in the most reality TV-obsessed corners of the Internet, you realize that not all baby bumps are created equal. The self-appointed obstetricians who scrutinize the pregnancies of people like Audrey Roloff jump to all sorts of conclusions on the basis of a single selfie. Apparently, there are boy bumps, girl bumps, twin bumps … you name it. Show a photo of a pregnant woman to some Facebook rando, and they will tell you exactly what sort of child she’s expecting, down to its temperament and hair color. As for myself, I claim no such delusional expertise. And so, I’m gonna say that Audrey is carrying a boy, simply because her first child was a girl, and my understanding of the law of averages is piss poor, at best. Hey, my reasoning might suck, but I still have a 50 percent chance of being right! A Girl by Simon Delott Gender is a complicated social construct that has nothing to do with genes or genitals, but that’s not what we’re discussing here. Generally speaking, a child’s sex is determined by chromosomal pairings — the most well-known of which are XX and XY. (It’s actually way more complicated than that, I know but … probably not in a way that will impact the Roloffs.) Some men produce more XX sperm, more XY sperm, or an equal balance of both — depending on which alleles they possess. But until we see a detailed genetic analysis of Jeremy, we don’t know much; except that he and Audrey already have a daughter, Ember. I’m going to go ahead and take a shot in the dark and say that they’re having another girl. Why? Because Audrey and Jeremy once had the best hair in the entire extended family. (Now, it’s Audrey and Jacob, hands down. Errr, hair down.) As we saw with Jeremy, there’s too great of a chance that a son might cut his hair short, defying his birthright of phenomenal locks. A daughter is considerably less likely to do that, so I’m going to keep my fingers crossed that they have a baby girl. The more good hair in the world, the better off the world is. I don’t care how silly that sounds — it’s true. Also? They should name her Pumpkin. Pumpkin Corduroy. A Girl by Ally Lewber While it would be super exciting to watch Audrey and Jeremy welcome their first son, for some reason I’m inclined to believe that this fam is going to be a girly one. Maybe it’s Audrey’s gorgeous red princess hair or maybe it’s the fact that we’ve already seen Jeremy be the CUTEST dad to little Ember. I mean, really, dads don’t get enough credit and there is nothing quite like the daughter-father bond. Who else is going to pretend they’re not crying as they walk you down the aisle and then completely lose it hours later?? Simply put, daughters need their fathers. After all, he is the first man in our lives — and, yes, he’s probably a little too overprotective. But that is why I am seeing pink! And plenty of matching sister dresses in their future! At Audrey and Jeremy’s 2017 gender reveal, the couple had its closest friends and family over to the Roloff Farm and lit the backyard up with pink flare smoke. It was honestly too cute and I’m just saying… pink suits them realllly well. It’s not that I don’t think a boy would work for them; in fact, I think the family would be thrilled if they found out they were having a little guy. And we’ve already seen just how cute Ember is with cousin Jackson , but I’m calling it: It’s going to be a sweet baby girl! A Girl by Jeff Page I can’t say for sure, but something tells me Audrey and Jeremy are expecting another little girl. Remember how elated the couple looked to be upon sharing the news at their first gender reveal, as mentioned by my astute colleague above? They went all out with those crazy smoke sticks and turned their whole yard pink! Something about Audrey’s vibe feels more subdued this time. She seems super content, but calmer, as though she’s already been through this. And of course, she has been. Boy or girl, this time around won’t be as fresh an experience for Audrey. My guess is, if she knew she were having a baby boy, it would put a fresh twist on this whole pregnancy thing for her, and I’m just not seeing that yet. All this said, I’m rooting for a boy! It would be great for Ember to have a little brother. Audrey and Jeremy have one girl, and we just learned Zach and Tori are having a little girl as well. Let’s change it up and throw another Roloff boy in the mix! But I think whether the kid’s a boy or a girl, they’ll be really lucky to have Audrey and Jeremy for parents. Who the Eff Cares by Hilton Hater Do you know what fans will say if Audrey and Jeremy learn they’re having a son? CONGRATS! THAT’S SO EXCITING! WE’RE SO HAPPY FOR YOU!
