For the record, the following is not a list of our favorite celebrities from 2018. Or even our least favorite celebrities. You might say it's somewhere in between. We adore some of the folks included below and we abhor others. But there can be no denying the impact they had on popular culture over the past 12 months, which is why this is a rundown of the 18 “best” celebrities over this latest calendear year. Who sits at #1? You're moments away from finding out… 19. Donald Trump Look, if you’re talking about the star who was heard from the most in 2018, and who was discussed the most, this traitorous President is clearly the only answer. But we can’t put someone who is number-one in the heart of Vladimir Putin atop our list. So we’ll just mention Trump here, but place him as low as possible. 18. Bill Cosby Or perhaps we should just called him inmate number “NN7687.” 17. Jenelle Evans and David Eason We could almost separate these two, they each stirred up so much controversy in 2018. But if Evans won’t come to her senses and divorce this bigot, then we’ll follow suit and keep them as one. 16. Lady Gaga This star herself was not born in 2018. But she was remade as a legitimate actress who could actually win an Oscar. How nuts is that??? 15. Kylie Jenner She’s a mother now. How crazy is that?!?!? 14. Khloe Kardashian She’s also a mother now, as well as a sympathetic figure for having to endure the Tristan Thompson cheating scandal. View Slideshow
David Eason is … well, he seems to be in sort of a weird place right now. And by “weird,” we mean “very, very bad.” He's being investigated by the Secret Service, he's facing criminal charges for towing a handicapped man's truck. It's all just bad. In the midst of all that, he's been sharing some pretty bizarre videos that are really making people concerned for his mental state. Today, we're going to look at the latest one … but be warned, it's super graphic and disturbing. 1. Yikes David is really just falling apart these days. 2. Well … And we know, we know, by saying that we’re saying that he used to have himself together at some point in time, but it’s true — you know he was at least a little better than this in the past. 3. How Things Change Remember when Jenelle first started dating him? He had a job as a welder, he wasn’t as immediately aggressive as Nathan Griffith was … lots of people thought she was finally getting with a decent guy. 4. Nope Oh, how wrong we were … 5. SUCH a Transformation Soon after he began appearing on Teen Mom 2, he started showing his true colors. He was controlling, mean to her sons, and mean to her mother. 6. Getting Worse He’s had a pretty steady downfall since then: he and Jenelle got into more and more fights on the show, he was fired from the show for that awful homophobic Twitter rant. View Slideshow
A 17-year-old former Walmart employee skyrocketed to fame last week. In a video that he himself released, he hijacks Walmart's own intercom system to tell the entire store exactly why he's quitting. His expletive-laden rant is followed by applause and cheers from shoppers. Walmart itself is less than thrilled. If you've ever wondered why some employees are escorted from buildings after quitting or being fired, here is why. On Thursday afternoon, a teen named Jackson Racicot uploaded a video of him using Walmart's own intercom system to quit his job. “Attention all shoppers, associates, and management,” the 17-year-old's rant begins. “I would like to say to all of you today that nobody should work here, ever,” he announces. He then accuses: “Our managers will make promises and never keep them.” “[Management] will preach to us about how they care about their employees,” he says. Walmart has been very controversial during the past couple of decades for their alleged treatment of employees. “But about a month ago,” Jackson says. “My boss, assistant manager Cora called me a 'waste of time.'” That is not an acceptable way for one human being to speak to another, especially in the workplace. “And,” Jackson reports. “Management did nothing.” He says that he has worked there for over a year, but can no longer bring himself to work there. “I'm sick of all the bulls–t, bogus write-ups and my job,” he announces. “F–k management, f–k this job, and f–k Walmart,” he concludes. Some may find that the video gives them secondhand embarrassment — perhaps as they recall their own frustrations as teenagers. However, it sounds like his sentiment was well-received by shoppers at Grande Prairie Walmart. One can hear cheers and applause as he walks away from the phone. “I got fed up,” Jackson latere explained in an interview with the Edmonton Journal . “I don't regret what I did,” he affirms. Though he received a lot of support, others warned him about potential backlash for his brazen exit. “I went into this knowing what will happen,” Jackson says. Quitting a job spectacularly may make a splash, but it can also hurt your chances at future employment for obvious reasons. Some even feared that Walmart might try to take him to court over the video — but others suggest that the brand doesn't want additional bad PR. Walmart released a statement in response. “We are aware of the video circulating online,” the statement confirms. “And are disappointed by this incident.” It's unclear whether they're disappointed by how he quit, or by the events that led to it. “Respect for all individuals including our associates and customers is a core value at Walmart,” the statement claims. “We are looking into this matter,” Walmart concludes. “And will address it internally as required.” That is all very, very vague. Walmart may feel tempted to make an example of Jackson to discourage other employees from turning sour grapes into viral fame. That would probably not go over well with the public — though the retail behemoth is no stranger to bad publicity. Many people who have worked in retail or similar positions felt discomfort at the video. Lots of employees have had bad managers — but they've also had bad coworkers who blames managers for calling them out. We don't know what really went on prior to Jackson leaving his job, and we suspect that Walmart wants to find out before they say anything further. For now, Jackson is a symbol of workers who feel used and marginalized by soulless monopolies. But that perception could change.
Wow, David Eason is really going out of his way to be super awful, huh? You have to wonder how he even has this much time on his hands, really. In addition to being such a terrifying human being that the actual Secret Service had to pay him a visit, he's exercising his nastiness by making comments about his own wife, Jenelle Evans. And boy, are they nasty … 1. Here We Go So … yeah, there’s been a lot going on lately for these two, huh? 2. Hmmmm … It’s hard to pick an exact point when things started going downhill for them since that’s been happening pretty much since the day they met, but let’s think … 3. Ah You know, there’s pretty much no denying that things took a significant turn after that 911 call from Jenelle made the rounds back in October. 4. Warning: Not Safe for Life If you haven’t heard the call yet, well, lucky you, but here it is: in this recording, we hear Jenelle sobbing hysterically and telling the 911 operator that her husband abused her and she thinks he may have broken a bone. 5. Just Heartbreaking Everyone who listened to the recording agreed that she seemed genuinely terrified and just beside herself, and that she’s just not a good enough actress to make all that up. 6. Huh She never addressed the call itself, but she’s insisted that David never laid a hand on her, and for a while, they went out of their way to act all lovey dovey with each other. View Slideshow
Colin Kroll, the co-founder and CEO of HQ Trivia, was found dead early Sunday morning in his Manhattan apartment. He was 35 years old. According to TMZ, Kroll’s girlfriend called police and asked for someone to check on Kroll after she grew concerned because she could not get in touch with him. Cops then went to Kroll’s’s downtown Manhattan residence, entered… and discovered Kroll’s body in his bedroom. He was face down and there was drug paraphernalia nearby. It is believed that he died of an overdose. At this point (before any tests have been run, we ought to note), law enforcement officials think Kroll passed away due to a mixture of cocaine and heroin. Kroll was named CEO of HQ Trivia in 2015. A year earlier, he was fired from Twitter after he was determined to be a “bad manager,” most notably because female employees alleged his behavior made them uncomfortable. However, no sexual harassment claims were ever filed. Kroll was also the co-founder of Vine and served as the General Manager of this company/platform between 2013 and 2014. Morever, he was the Chief Technology Officer for Jetsetter. Prior to that role, Kroll worked as the Engineering Manager at Yahoo between 2007 to 2009. Here is the official NYPD statement on the incident: On Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 0018 hours, police responded to a 911 call for a wellness check at 56 Spring Street within the confines of the 5th Precinct. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 35-year-old male unconscious and unresponsive in a bedroom. EMS responded and pronounced the individual deceased on scene. The investigation is ongoing and the Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death. HQ Trivia is a live quiz app; it was launched in August of 2017 and was one of iPhone’s 10 most-downloaded apps in January of this year. At the moment, however, it has fallen down to somewhere between 250 and 500. Representatives for HQ Trivia were not immediately available to comment. Kroll does not leave behind any kids. May he rest in peace. We’ll update this story with more news as it breaks. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2018: In Memoriam
David Eason has been throwing up red flags for years now. Maybe for his whole life, even. But in the past few days, things haven gotten even worse. Like, the Secret Service went to his house because of his crazy gun videos. It's not a great situation. But last night, David took out a knife while filming himself for his Instagram story, and … Well, it's not pretty. 1. Where to Start? David is a mess. He is an honest to goodness mess. 2. Ugh We’ve known this for a long time now, ever since Jenelle was rude enough to start dating him and bring him on Teen Mom 2. 3. Yikes He’s aggressive, he’s mean to her kids, there have been claims that he’s abusive to Kaiser … none of it is great. 4. SO MANY RED FLAGS One of his exes had a restraining order against him because she alleged that he abused her and threatened to kill her. 5. So Sad And we can’t forget about how Jenelle herself called 911 and told the operator that he’d knocked her down and pinned her to the ground, and he hurt her so badly she thought he broke her collarbone. 6. Get Ready … And then, of course, there’s his terrifying obsession with guns … an obsession that brought the actual Secret Service down to the Eason swamp on Friday. View Slideshow

If you follow him on social media, you know David Eason's gun collection is his favorite thing to talk about. His next favorite topic is politics, which seems to be the case with a lot of people who are obsessed with guns. Unfortunately, David has a hard time separating his gun posts from his political posts. And as a result, he received a visit today from the Secret Service. Turns out, threatening the president can get you into trouble. Who knew! Here's what we know so far about this bizarre situation: 1. The Gunslinger David loves guns. In fact, he’s bragged about the fact that he’s always packing, and he says one of his greatest concerns is that the government will take his weapons away. 2. David and His Weapon Recently, David posted this video on his Instagram page. The caption raised some red flags with government officials. 3. Bump This “They will say I’ve gone off the deep end just wait for it! #bangbangbang #bumpfire #bumpthis #nancypelosi #trump #maga,” David wrote. 4. Terroristic It’s not hard to see how Eason’s post could be interpreted as a threat against Donald Trump and Nancy Pelosi. 5. Not Messing Around The government doesn’t take this sort of thing lightly, and so, David and wife Jenelle Eason received a visit from the Secret Service today. 6. The Feds Come Calling David posted a video on Instagram, which he says was taken seconds after he finished speaking to a Secret Service agent. View Slideshow
Jenelle Evans and David Eason are bad at keeping secrets and even worse at lying. That's bad news for a couple with so much to hide, but good news for those of us who enjoy observing the carnival sideshow that is life on the Land. Of course, it's possible that interest in the Easons' lives wouldn't be so intense if they weren't constantly spilling the tea all over social media. David got fired from Teen Mom 2 way back in February, and we still know everything he does, because he's the thirstiest man alive. After they over-share, Jenelle and David usually regret it and try to backpedal, which is exactly what they're doing with news of their latest breakup. Take a look: 1. The Easons Jenelle just posted this photo to prove to fans that all is well in the Eason household. The only problem is, we know for a fact that’s not true. 2. Ya Gotta Keep ‘Em Separated Earlier this week, Jenelle changed her relationship status on her Facebook page to “separated.” 3. The Obvious Conclusion Not surprisingly, fans took this as an indication that she and David had at least temporarily called it quits. 4. Jenelle Claps Back But despite the fact that Jenelle herself started the rumor, she responded to it the same way she responds to every situation — with seething outrage, 5. Jenelle Is Mad Jenelle took to Instagram with this hilarious post about how she plans to unfriend “everyone” all because someone sold her info to the press. 6. Delusions of Grandeur This probably goes without saying, but no one sold Jenelle’s info. View Slideshow
As we reported earlier this week, Jenelle Evans is driving across the country along with her husband, David Eason. Curiously, Jenelle and David flew to California last week, but it seems they've decided to rent a car and drive home. And their choice of transportation isn't the only unusual thing about this coast-to-coast odyssey. Check out what Teen Mom 2 fans have to say about Jenelle and David's traveling sideshow: 1. On the Road Again Jenelle and David have spent the past week wending their way across our nation’s highways. 2. The Easons at the Canyon They’ve been seeing taking the scenic route and enjoying some of America’s most famous landmarks. 3. Spontaneous — or Suspicious Sounds like a lot of fun, to be sure — but the trip is also raising some major questions among Teen Mom 2 fans. 4. Like the Pioneers of Yore. As anyone who’s done it can tell you, driving across the country is no mean feat. In fact, it’s incredibly time-consuming. 5. Two-Part Vacay And the road trip is the second leg of Jenelle and David’s vacation. 6. California Girl First, they flew into Southern California for undisclosed reasons. View Slideshow
