Top 5 Songs On Big Sean’s “Finally Famous”

See the original post here:

Today, Detroit rapper Big Sean released his debut album on Kanye West ‘s G.O.O.D. Music label. When I listen to Finally Famous , I can’t help but draw comparisons to Drake ; both artists are obsessed with fame and women, and their lyrical content reflects that. But unlike Drake’s Thank Me Later , Big Sean’s debut album is markedly superior in terms of production and musicality, thanks to No I.D.  While I also like The Neptunes produced “Get It” and the playful “High” featuring none other than Wiz Khalifa, these are my top five songs: Big Sean Speaks On Drake Biting His Rhyme Style [VIDEO] Kelly Rowland Ft. Big Sean “Lay It On Me” [NEW MUSIC] 5. “Memories” featuring John Legend produced by No I.D. I’m a fan of songs that allow me to connect with the artist on a deeper level.  So I like that Big Sean reveals himself on this track. The strings, piano, guitar, and layered vocals reinforce the sincere and sentimental vibe. 4. “Wait For Me” featuring Lupe Fiasco produced No I.D. and Exile Okay, so this sample just made my soul smile.  And the fact that Lupe Fiasco jumps on is an automatic enhancement to the song. 3. “My Last” featuring Chris Brown produced by No I.D. Catchy.  Fun and easy to sing along to.  If you’ve heard this song on the radio recently, I’m sure you already know why this song is on my list! 2. “So Much More” produced No I.D. Comparable to Kanye West’s “Cheers” on College Dropout , this song nearly tops my list (mainly because the sample is so hot)!  And unlike most, I like listening to rappers babble about their journey to stardom … seriously. 1. “I Do It” produced by No I.D. and The Legendary Traxster Let me just say, this beat is hard!  And some of lyrics have me laughing my head off.  I’ve probably listened to this song too many times.  If you’re looking for a song to give you an ego boost, press play. 10 Epic Fails From The 2011 BET Awards

Excerpt from:

The 2011 BET awards went down last night, Sunday June 26 at the Shrine auditorium in LA. Lets just say the greatest show on earth is still at the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus. Funny man Kevin Hart did his thing but even he could not save the BET Awards from becoming the EBT Awards. There were too many awkward and funny moments that it was hard for me to chose just a few. There were too many fashion fails and some serious epic fails that went down during the show. I decided to narrow it down to the fails that literally made people either uncomfortable or just with blank stares on their faces. Check out the photos and list below of the EPIC FAILS from the 2011 BET Awards. Cherrelle & Alexander O’Neal performing “Saturday Love” – Why would BET pull Alexander O’Neal on stage to perform straight from Dr. Drew’s Rehab center.  This performance was very crack-ish. Where are his teeth? Rocsi Diaz all purpose dress – Is it just me, or was Rocsi dressed like she was the star of Lion King on ice.  I don’t know but everyone on twitter said she got the fit from Wet Seal. Maybe they gave her some free wears for the promo. Busta Rhymes brain vest – Now Busta is known for wearing some weird fits and last night was not unusual. Busta went rap Lady Gaga on us yesterday wearing a brain vest in the audience and becoming a human accordion during his performance with Chris Brown. Look at him now. Chris Brown Onesie Tuxedo – Yeah Chris Brown made the list again. Breezy played himself two times over when he joined Big Sean on stage wearing a onesie tuxedo. Chris Brown’s BET Awards fits were just awful. And what was he doing on that damn bike?? Lil Wayne American Flag boxers and One Sock – Weezy F. clearly does whatever he wants to do and during his “I’m On One” performance with DJ Khaled, Drake and Rick Ross Weezy skipped around the stage wearing American flag boxers and one black and white checker sock. Cee-Lo Green dressed as Patti LaBelle and cussing – Cee-Lo Green literally came out dressed like Patti Labelle. I mean even down to her permed out spike hair. You can tell Patti was loving it! Things went a bit south when The Dungeon Family member started cussing up a storm. BET didn’t catch any of the cuss words and I don’t think they intended on it. Viewers Choice Award – Tiffany Greene, a big Nicki Minaj fan, was chosen to give out the BET Viewers Choice Award. Things went left when the tablet said Chris Brown but the teleprompter said Rihanna.  Then Drake ended up winning the award. However, at the end of the show Kevin Hart revealed that the winner really was Chris Brown. Once again the EBT awards know how to start some mess to keep their ratings up. Trey Songz drooling and slurping on Kelly Rowland’s neck – Trey Songz and Kelly Rowland just may have had one of the hottest performances of the night . I know I am not the only one who caught how Trey Songz had become a perverted old man at the end of the performance, trying to nibble on Kelly Rowland’s neck as they went down. Diggy Simmons dance number – I did not know Diggy Simmons had big plans to become the rapping Chris Brown. We were all hype about Diggy coming into the rap game because he could actually flow. Now he just totally put himself into the category of being a popcorn bubble gum artist. Nicki Minaj pretending she had competition – Nicki Minaj accepted her award and tried to deliver a speech pretending there was competition in the female rap category. The audience did not buy it one bit. They broke out into laughter after Nicki started her speech off with “Wow, I can’t believe I won.” Recent Post: Free’s Booty Becomes Trending Topic After BET Awards [PHOTO] 2011 BET Awards Performances [VIDEO]

Parental Notification Dominates Testimony At Hearing On Teen Health

More here:

Yesterday, the Legislature’s Program Review and Investigations Committee heard significant testimony on parental notification for minors seeking abortions at its public hearing on teen health. What You Need To Know About New FDA Sunscreen Rules The Family Institute of Connecticut played a key role in arranging this first-ever hearing on parental notification. Sen. Michael McLachlan (R-Danbury) testified about parental notification. He observed that Connecticut legislators want parental notification for teen tanning but not for teen abortions. “Connecticut is fifth in the nation for teen abortions. Connecticut’s teen abortion rate is fifty-five percent higher than the national average,” McLachlan stated. “Parental notification crosses the boundary between pro-life and pro-choice… parental notification is a reasonable expectation of this legislature,” he added. Legislators also heard heart-wrenching testimony from the directors of crisis pregnancy centers, who counsel teens considering abortion on a daily basis. 7 Top Tips To Alleviate Leg Cramps “Parental notification is a common-sense protection for Connecticut’s youth,” stated FIC Executive Director Peter Wolfgang. “Over thirty-six states, including Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Pennsylvania have laws requiring parental involvement in a minor’s decision to have an abortion. If a school nurse can’t administer aspirin to a minor without a parent’s consent, it’s just common sense that the parent should be involved in a child’s decision to undergo a surgical procedure like abortion,” stated Wolfgang. “Currently, Connecticut law deprives teens of the benefit of guardianship when faced with the decision whether to obtain an abortion. It is not a decision that teens should make alone,” he added. “The lack of a parental notification law creates a loophole that is exploited by human traffickers and statutory rapists,” stated Wolfgang. In 2008, a West Hartford man, Adam Gault, was arrested for abducting a 13-year old girl and holding her captive as his sex slave for over a year. In the course of her captivity, Gault impregnated the girl and had her brought to the Planned Parenthood in West Hartford for an abortion. “If Connecticut had a parental notification law, Adam Gault would have been apprehended much sooner,” commented Wolfgang. “Right now, human traffickers and statutory rapists can cover up their crimes by obtaining abortions for their victims. Knowingly or not, Planned Parenthood aids and abets criminals like Adam Gault in covering up their unspeakable offenses,” he added. “Raymond Bechard’s new book, The Berlin Turnpike: A True Story of Human Trafficking in America, has drawn significant attention to the human trafficking of minors in Connecticut. Passing a parental notification law is an important step towards combating this problem and increasing scrutiny on human traffickers,” elaborated Wolfgang. “We also offer a special thanks to Sen. John Kissel (R-Enfield). It was Sen. Kissel who first suggested the idea that led to yesterday’s hearing at FIC’s February 3rd legislative breakfast. It was his good advice that led to FIC’s biggest ever pro-active victory, a public hearing on parental notification,” concluded Wolfgang.
