Kristen Stewart Squirms Reliving First MTV Interview

‘I just can’t handle that,’ ‘Twilight’ actress says, jumping out of her chair during ‘MTV First: Breaking Dawn.’ By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Kristen Stewart at MTV First: “Breaking Dawn” Photo: MTV News Our “MTV First: Breaking Dawn” was full of so many fun moments between “Twilight Saga” stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner that we would be remiss if we didn’t go back to highlight a few of the best. One of the most surprising and entertaining moments occurred when we informed Stewart that we brought a clip of her first-ever interview with MTV. Her reaction was immediate: “No, no, no, no, no, no, no. I actually can’t do this!” she said when we told her we were ready to roll the clip. “Ah! I don’t think you understand what that does to me. Uh. It’s happening,” she said, half-covering her face as the clip rolled. In the clip, from MTV’s first interview with Stewart and Pattinson on the set of the first “Twilight” movie, we ask Stewart what impressed her about working with Pattinson thus far. “I think he’s really handsome,” she jokes, sending Pattinson into a fit of laughter. “No, no. He can’t lie,” she admits, taking the question seriously. “He’s incapable of lying, so it’s pretty clear when we need to work on the scene.” Pattinson cuts in, joking that Stewart doesn’t think he can act: “What she means [by ‘lying’] is ‘acting.’ ” Stewart counters: “Nope. That’s so not what I mean. He’s just copping out,” she adds, and then the clip fades to black, and we see Stewart up out of her interview chair, half-pacing in front of Pattinson and Lautner. “I just can’t handle that,” Stewart attempted to explain of her discomfort watching herself onscreen. “As far as I’m concerned, this doesn’t exist,” she said, indicating that she was trying to block out the fact that we were taping an interview at that very moment. When asked what it was about the interview that had her so unsettled, Stewart said that it was just a “very different” time. “We’ve had a lot of development,” she said about her growing interactions with MTV News. “Our relationships have really progressed, I feel.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Conrad Murray Verdict Divides Michael Jackson Fans

‘I feel like though justice was made, it really wasn’t,’ one MTV.com reader writes. By James Dinh Fans react to Conrad Murray’s involuntary manslaughter conviction Photo: Pool/ Getty Images Buzz surrounding the involuntary manslaughter trial against Michael Jackson’s former personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray , reached a new high Monday afternoon (November 7) when the jury announced the verdict for the long-awaited case: guilty. Fans took to the comments section of MTV News, as well as our Facebook and Twitter pages, to share their opinions on the verdict, which was reached after almost nine hours of deliberation. One MTV.com user appeared somewhat pleased with the news, writing, “I feel like though justice was made, it really wasn’t. He gets 4 years prison, but then because of overcrowding gets sentenced reduced and serves at a jail. On top of that his sentence might be reduced further. Just because you have money and you are a doctor does not mean you have the right to be negligent. Michael was someone’s son, brother, uncle, father. It’s unfair. RIP MJ.” According to Twitter user xAshley_Arianax, the jury came to the right conclusion. “Well, Dr. Conrad Murray was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson. Justice was served. RIP Michael Jackson,” she wrote. As many celebrated the verdict, others, including Christina Wixson, were on the fence about the ruling. “Man, I don’t know on this. However, I do feel that physicians take an oath…if this guy would have been found not guilty-it would make that oath and the job of physician null and void,” she wrote on MTV News’ Facebook . Jason Hubbard shared his theory about Conrad Murray: “The Dr. has responsibility and now has to pay his debt. A Doctor’s job is to help the sick not enable a drug addict because they can pay a lot of money.” Some fans of the late pop icon weren’t pleased that the doctor was only found guilty of involuntary manslaughter instead of a more severe charge. “Dr. Murray’s possible 4 year sentence does not feel like ‘justice’ for the death of a hero…. RIP Michael Jackson,” Twitter user WildeScarlette wrote. Another commenter, Katrina Maxwell, thought Murray was “guilty of breaching medical conduct due to who his client was” but “was paid all that money to do as his client instructed him.” “He’s not a murderer,” she added. MTV News will be covering the Conrad Murray case live. Go to MTVNews.com for breaking news, reactions and analysis from Los Angeles or tune to MTV for the latest updates. Panic! At the Disco Opener Patrick Stump ‘Taking No Prisoners’

Ex-Fall Out Boy singer and Panic! tourmate tells MTV News his solo project has ‘very punk-rock moments, very Motown moments.’ By Vaughn Trudeau Schoonmaker, with reporting by Matt Elias Patrick Stump Photo: Getty Images Patrick Stump might be known to many as the lead singer of Fall Out Boy , but since the band entered an indefinite hiatus nearly two years ago, Stump has been working to create a big name for himself a solo artist. Currently on tour as the opening act for Panic! At the Disco , Stump is doing just that. “I know a lot of people still haven’t heard me as a solo artist,” Stump told MTV News. “[My current] band and I are starting to get into this groove where it’s like we’ve really proven it to the immediate people around us, so now it’s just going out and taking no prisoners.” Stump has taken the approach of developing a new sound altogether on his first solo studio album, Soul Punk . He said Prince and David Bowie were two of the record’s key influences. “The record itself and the live show: It’s really an up-tempo R&B kind of thing,” Stump said, describing his new approach. “There are some very punk-rock moments, some very Motown moments.” Already closely associated with Panic! At the Disco through Fall Out bandmate Pete Wentz’s efforts at getting them signed in their early days, Stump has seen the pop-punk headliners come a long way. “When I met them, they felt like our little brothers,” Stump said, laughing. “They’ve long since come into their own, and it’s really awesome to get to open for them.” While Stump is out to prove his validity as a solo artist, he knows there is already much to be thankful for: getting to do what he loves most for a living. “I love being a musician,” Stump said, smiling. “I write, and I play, and I think about music all the time. It’s really fun to go into rooms with people who don’t know what to expect.” Will you be checking out the fall Panic! tour with opening act Patrick Stump? Tell us in the comments below! Michael Jackson Top-Earning Dead Celebrity

Forbes magazine predicts Cirque du Soleil tribute show ‘Immortal’ will put King of Pop in the lead again next year. By Gil Kaufman Michael Jackson Photo: Kevin Mazur/WireImage For the second year in a row, Michael Jackson has topped Forbes magazine’s list of top-earning dead celebrities. The King of Pop, who died unexpectedly at age 50 in June 2009, earned an estimated $170 million over the past year, making him the second-highest-earning pop star this year (behind U2) — dead or alive. The megabucks came in from sales of his music, as well as his stake in the lucrative Sony/ATV catalog, and while impressive, was a big step down from the $275 million the Jackson estate earned in the year after the singer’s death. Songwriters who own their work tend to place high on the Forbes list because their catalog sales often remain strong after their death, one of the reasons Jackson’s posthumous career has been so lucrative. The magazine speculated that Jackson is likely to top the list again next year thanks to the recent launch of the Cirque du Soleil tribute show “Immortal,” which, if successful, could net more touring income for the singer in death than he earned in life. In a distant second was the perennial chart-topper in the Forbes tally, Elvis, whose catalog and merchandise sales (not to mention his pricey Cirque show, “Viva Elvis”) helped bring in $55 million from October 2010 to October 2011. Two late Beatles, John Lennon and George Harrison, placed fifth and 13th on the list, respectively, at $12 million and $6 million, also thanks in part to catalog sales and the proceeds from a Las Vegas Cirque show, “Love.” Fifty years after her death, blonde starlet Marilyn Monroe was #3 with $27 million, followed by “Peanuts” cartoonist Charles Schulz. Actress Elizabeth Taylor tied at #5 with Lennon at $12 million, mostly due to the perennially strong sales of her perfumes, just ahead of renowned genius Albert Einstein ($10 million) and Theodor “Dr. Seuss” Geisel ($9 million). Tied at #9 are guitar god Jimi Hendrix, “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” author Stieg Larsson, actor Steve McQueen and songwriter Richard Rodgers ($7 million). Harrison was at #13, tied with pin-up icon Bettie Page and pop-art legend Andy Warhol ($6 million). Related Artists Michael Jackson
