Demi Lovato is currently judging X Factor auditions and will kick off a summer tour on June 12 in Del Mar, California. In other words: she’s very busy these days. But give the singer about a decade and she’ll be ready to settle down. “I want to be married with kids in 10 years,” Lovato tells the latest issue of Cosmopolitan , which is apparently all about sex and nudity for a change. With what kind of man will Lovato end up? She can’t say for certain, of course, but she does dish on one deal breaker:’ “I know one quality I won’t tolerate: I would never be with a guy who is controlling.” That point of view has to do with the problems has Lovato encountered throughout her teenage years, issues related to depression and eating disorders. She tells Cosmo she felt “relieved” when she was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder in 2010. “I felt relieved when I found out. Like I’m not completely crazy; there’s a medical reason for all of it. It’s a daily thing; you don’t get time off from it. And if I feel myself slipping back into old patterns, I have to ask others for help, which is hard for me to learn, because I really like doing everything on my own.”

Donna Summer Dead at 63

Donna Summer died this morning after a battle with cancer. She was 63. The singer was in Florida at the time of her death , according to reports. Known as the Queen of Disco, Donna Summer was said to be trying to keep the extent of her illness under wraps. Just a few weeks ago, people close to her say she was focused on trying to finish up an album she had been working on. Summer was a five-time Grammy winner who rose to fame with hits – “Last Dance,” “Hot Stuff” and “Bad Girls” – that were synonymous with the 1970s. Donna and her producer Giorgio Moroder defined the dance music era of the ’70s, influencing acts like Duran Duran, David Bowie and many others. Summer married Brooklyn Dreams singer Bruce Sudano in 1980. The couple had two daughters together. R.I.P. to one of the greats. Donna Summer – Last Dance

John Legend Bashes Britney Spears and Demi Lovato as Non-Singers

They won’t be competing against each other, but it’s nevertheless on between Duets and The X Factor . On the ABC Upfront party red carpet this week, John Legend – one of the four singers who will be teaming up with amateurs across the country on the new singing competition – was asked about the new X Factor judges, Britney Spears and Demi Lovato , and replied: “You know it’s interesting. It should be very interesting. I don’t have much to say,” Legend told E! News. “It’s interesting when people, you know, are judging singing competitions when they aren’t really singers.” Ouch! Interesting is one diplomatic word for it, yes. Robin Thicke, who will also appear on Duets , gave the young ladies some credit at least: “Oh come on, everything Britney does, she excels at. Demi is a lovely young lady, and I’m sure they’ll do nothing but make the show a lot more fun to watch.” Which of these X Factor judges has you most excited?

Britney Spears and Demi Lovato will join L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell as judges on The X Factor , Fox confirmed at its upfront presentation this afternoon. Spears, one of the most successful and celebrated artists in pop music history, gives the show A-list star power as it gears up for its sophomore season. Lovato is no slouch herself, having become an accomplished singer and actress with a devoted and engaged young fan base. Not bad for the age of 19. “I’m absolutely delighted that Britney and Demi are joining us,” said Cowell, who removed Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger at the end of last season. “Britney Spears remains one of the biggest stars in the world, she’s talented, fascinating – and I believe she knows exactly how to spot The X Factor.” “Demi’s had an amazing career in music, TV and film for someone her age. Lindsay Lohan as Elizabeth Taylor: Uncanny!

Lindsay Lohan has just signed on to play Elizabeth Taylor in a Lifetime movie, much to the chagrin of Rosie O’Donnell . The actress is thrilled about the opportunity. In fact, she’s felt a kinship with the late Hollywood legend before. In 2006, at age 19, Lindsay posed as Taylor, who passed away in 2011, for Interview magazine in photos taken by Karl Lagerfeld – including a cover shot. Take a look at the striking resemblance below … The shots are powerful, with Lohan managing to capture much of Taylor’s vulnerability and beauty, traits that helped win her the role in the Lifetime film. Of course, this was before Lindsay Lohan’s plastic surgery and/or hard-partying ways altered her appearance drastically. But that’s neither here nor there. It has not been revealed who will star opposite Lohan as Richard Burton in Liz & Dick , but the 25-year-old actress is heavily insured and raring to go.

Levon Helm, Drummer For The Band, Dies at 71

Levon Helm, the legendary drummer for The Band, died today. He was 71. “Levon Helm passed peacefully this afternoon,” his rep confirmed. “He was surrounded by family, friends and fellow band members and will be remembered by all he touched as a brilliant musician and a beautiful soul.” Earlier this week, Levon’s wife Sandy and their daughter announced on his official website that he was “in the final stages of his battle with cancer .” The Arkansas-born Helm played in a rockabilly band in the late 1950s before moving up to Canada and joining guitarist Robbie Robertson and three other musicians to form what would become Bob Dylan’s back-up band in the mid-1960s. Later called simply The Band, the group featured Helm’s drums and vocals on songs like “The Weight,” “Up on Cripple Creek” and “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down.” Their final concert, filmed by Martin Scorsese, was The Last Waltz in 1976. In their message to his fans, Levon Helm’s wife and daughter said: “Thank you fans and music lovers who have made his life filled with joy and celebration … he has loved nothing more than to play, to fill the room up with music, lay down the back beat, and make the people dance! He did it every time he took the stage.” “We appreciate all the love and support and concern.”
