Two Georgia cops have lost their jobs after a video emerged of them macing and tasing a 57 year old woman who simply called to report a prowler outside her house. Janice Wells of Richland says she feared someone was lurking outside her home on April 26 so she called the police. What happened next was caught on the dashboard camera of the one of the police cars that arrived on the scene. The video shows Ryan Smith of the Lumpkin Police Department and Tim Murphy of Richland Police Department attempting to force Wells into a cruiser by spraying her with mace and repeatedly shocking her with a stun gun. As Wells screams “Don’t do that! Don’t do that!” the zapping noise of the taser can be heard over and over as one of the cops yells in a robotic fashion “get in the car, get in the car, get in the car”. As Wells sobs and splutters “I didn’t do nuthin’” the cop shouts “you gonna get it again, you gonna get it again” before blasting her with another round of 50 thousand volts. Eventually a neighbor emerges to calm the situation and a petrified Wells is finally placed in the squad car. ficer Smith has resigned and officer Murphy was fired. Wells is taking legal action. This is yet another example of how Tasers are nothing more than 21st century cattle prods for cops who are trained that the American people are their enemy. The Taser is not a tool of law enforcement, it is a torture device employed to make the scum public follow orders given by their jackbooted masters. While Washington lawmakers may be deadlocked over extending unemployment benefits, the liberal media are picking up the slack and helping unemployed individuals find more government help. In a July 13 story on CNNMoney.com , reporter Hibah Yousuf profiled two individuals who’ve been unemployed for over 99 weeks, the maximum number of weeks a person is eligible for unemployment benefits. Yousuf how they’re turning to more government agencies for assistance: “Many have already started falling through the safety net,” she reported. “These people are coping any way they can, often reaching out for other aid from agencies and charities.” Yousuf devoted one paragraph to explaining how the first individual, Kevin Huffer, took matters into his own hands by doing handyman work in exchange for rent and went fishing for meals. But she devoted another three paragraphs to the various agencies and organizations, such as the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Community Action Partnership, helping out-of-work Americans find federal assistance beyond the nearly two years of unemployment benefits. “Others who have maxed out their benefits have managed to keep their housing stable but need other kinds of government assistance to survive,” Yousuf wrote. The second individual Yousuf profiled, Rebecca Miranda, applied for food stamps through the government-run Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) but dropped her food stamps because her recently launched candy company, Sherry’s Jubilee Desserts, began attracting more attention and earned her over $400. However, rather than promote Miranda’s entrepreneurship, Yousuf continued plugging SNAP: “SNAP is the government’s most universal program for low-income households since singles, couples and families can qualify as long as they meet the income limits. And there are also a handful of other government initiatives that the long-term unemployed can turn to for extra cash.” In the 22-paragraph story, Yousuf devoted only three paragraph’s to Huffer’s and Miranda’s individualism while she championed government programs in twice as many paragraphs. This isn’t the first time the media downplayed Americans’ entrepreneurial spirits and provided a soapbox for government assistance , and it certainly isn’t the first time the media played the victim card .

‘I am deeply disappointed that the Swiss authorities denied the request to extradite Roman Polanski,’ Steve Cooley says in a statement. By Kelley L. Carter Roman Polanski in 1980 Photo: Central Press/Getty Images Switzerland’s Ministry of Justice announced that it would not extradite director Roman Polanski to the U.S. to face sentencing for child sex charges, but L.A. district attorney Steve Cooley said Monday (July 12) that extradition will be sought if Polanski is arrested someplace else. “I am deeply disappointed that the Swiss authorities denied the request to extradite Roman Polanski,” Cooley said in a statement released to MTV News. “Our office complied fully with all of the factual and legal requirements of the extradition treaty and requests by the U.S. and Swiss Departments of Justice and State. We will discuss with the Department of Justice the extradition of Roman Polanski if he’s arrested in a cooperative jurisdiction.” CNN reported earlier that the 76-year-old director was set free after his arrest last year; the case has been going on for nearly 35 years. At the time, Polanski pleaded guilty in Los Angeles to having unlawful sex with a 13-year-old girl in 1977 and supplying her with champagne and Quaaludes during a photo shoot, but the director fled to Europe before his sentencing. In exchange for his guilty plea, rape and other charges were dropped at the time. Although Polanski pleaded guilty to the one count of unlawful sexual intercourse, the remaining charges are pending since Polanski was never sentenced. “We only formally request when we are notified by a government that the fugitive is in their country,” Cooley said in the statement. “The request was filed immediately by this office after the Swiss notified us of Polanski’s expected arrival at the Zurich film festival in September 2009.” Cooley adds that countries that won’t release Polanski to the U.S. for sentencing are doing a “disservice to justice and other victims as a whole. To justify their finding to deny extradition on an issue that is unique to California law regarding conditional examination of a potentially unavailable witness is a rejection of the competency of the California courts. The Swiss could not have found a smaller hook on which to hang their hat.”

In what is quickly becoming an uglier feud by the day, Oksana Grigorieva has apparently told Sheriff’s deputies Mel Gibson threatened her – with a gun. The L.A. County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the actor for alleged domestic battery, assault with a deadly weapon and child endangerment. The investigation is based on the following: Domestic Violence : Oksana alleges Mel punched her in the face twice, knocking out a tooth and chipping another one. Mel’s lawyers deny this. Assault with a Deadly Weapon : Oksana told deputies Mel threatened her with a handgun at his Malibu home, an allegation based on her word. Child Endangerment : Oksana claims that on January 6 of this year, Mel allegedly punched her in the face while she was holding their daughter. There was also that racist, sexist tirade . The accusations are piling up against Mel … but is Oksana lying? As we reported earlier today, Mel’s lawyers will likely present evidence to deputies that Oksana made up some of the stories and tried to extort him. He is expected to allege that she has demanded cash in return for secret, recorded tapes of their explosive arguments, some of which were leaked . According to TMZ, Mel’s lawyers will meet with officials to argue Mel is innocent of any crime against Oksana Grigorieva, and the victim of extortion. The website also claims Mel’s lawyers will present evidence that Oksana lied to Sheriff’s deputies by knowingly making numerous false statements. The Sheriff’s Department will present the case to the L.A. County D.A.’s office for felony review … probably in two weeks. More details to come …
