Karl Rove Jokingly Suggests Someone Should Murder Todd Akin; Senate Candidate Not Pleased

The office of embattled Congressman Todd Akin (R-MO) is pretty furious with GOP activist and former White House Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove. For joking that Akin should be bumped off, obviously. Businessweek reports that Rove spoke about Akin – who is facing calls to drop his bid for Missouri’s U.S. Senate seat – at a GOP donors’ breakfast in Tampa. The site says Rove quipped to the audience: “We should sink Todd Akin. If he’s found mysteriously murdered, don’t look for my whereabouts!” Akin’s office issued a statement calling the quote “deeply disturbing,” given that the FBI is investigating real threats following Todd Akin legitimate rape controversy. He’s vowing to stay in the race despite the criticism he’s endured since suggesting rape victims rarely get pregnant because the body will “shut the whole thing down.” Many influential Republicans – Rove included – wish he would bow out, believing another candidate would have a better chance against incumbent Claire McCaskill. Should Akin drop out of the race?

Lindsay Lohan Invited Robbers Into Home, Victim Suspects

Lindsay Lohan is apparently being accused of allowing two dudes who robbed a Hollywood Hills mansion to come inside during a house party there. Police have interviewed Lohan in the burglary investigation following the break-in Sunday, but she is not a suspect … at least not right this minute. You never know with Linds. The incident occurred at a multi-million dollar mansion. The owner invited LiLo, who had brought her brother Cody, her assistant and two other guys. The party lasted all night, and Lindsay left at around noon Monday, right after the owner realized expensive watches and sunglasses were missing. He told everyone to stay and then called the police. When they arrived, he told them that he believed the guys Lohan brought ganked the stuff. The cops began asking questions of Lindsay, to which she replied, “Am I a suspect?” An officer answered, “No.” Then Lindsay peaced, TMZ reports. The case is still under investigation .

Junior Seau Autopsy Report: No Alcohol, Drugs or Brain Damage Found

Former NFL star Junior Seau had no alcohol or illicit drugs in his system upon committing suicide this year, nor did he exhibit any signs of brain damage. According to the autopsy and toxicology reports released Monday by the San Diego County medical examiner, Seau’s medical history was unremarkable. His girlfriend, Megan Noderer, told police that Seau gave no indication that he planned to kill himself, making his decision to do so even more of a mystery. When Noderer returned to their home May 2 after a morning workout, she found Seau in bed, dead of a gunshot to the chest from a .357 magnum revolver. No note or “documents that were suicidal in nature” were found. The San Diego County medical examiner declared Seau’s death a suicide the next day. The 43-year-old was taking prescription medicines for orthopedic problems and insomnia, and was under the care of Chargers physician Dr. David Chao. The former Oceanside and USC football star drank only “socially [and] did not smoke, and there was no history of illicit drug use,” according to the report. Seau “had an unremarkable medical history” and exhibited no “suicidal ideation or confirmed suicide attempt,” Deputy Medical Examiner Dr. Craig Nelson wrote. Brain damage among football players due to concussions has become a controversial issue in the NFL, where Seau was a star for the San Diego Chargers. At the request of the Seau family, brain tissue was sent to the National Institutes of Health for more advanced investigation. May he rest in peace. [Photo: WENN.com]

Rick Springfield Cops Plea in DUI Case

Rick Springfield has copped a plea to avoid jail in his DUI case. The charge stemmed from an incident in which he allegedly threatened to KILL a deputy sheriff – see one of our more amazing celebrity mug shots below – but the “Jessie’s Girl” singer apparently bargained with prosecutors. Rick’s plea deal should make it all go away STAT. Springfield was arrested in Malibu back in May 2011 and allegedly threatened to kill the deputy and his family if he had his 1963 Corvette Stingray towed. Prosecutors agreed to drop the DUI charges, however, in exchange for a no contest plea to reckless driving and three years probation. Case closed. As for Randy Travis’ DWI arrest this week, that case remains very much open … and ridiculous. Don’t drive drunk you kids. Please, just don’t do it.

What The Hell?!? California Dad Set Fire To School Five Times And Planned Killing Spree Of Sudents After Son’s Suicide Caused By Bullying

Revenge is a hell of a thing In a shocking display of what unbearable grief can drive a person to do, a father has been arrested for allegedly plotting to murder students and administrators at his deceased son’s high school. Rainer Klaus Reinscheid, a 48-year old professor at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), began his alleged crimes in March after his 14-year-old son was disciplined at school, KTLA reports. The teen, who attended University High School in Irvine, later hanged himself in Mason Park Preserve. When the Orange County Register reported on the suicide, several readers commented that they knew the teen and that he had been bullied. However, the Irvine police said they did not find any evidence of bullying. Reinscheid allegedly started five fires at his son’s high school, at the home of an assistant principal from the high school and at the Mason Park Preserve. Between July 4 and July 24, Reinscheid is accused of setting newspapers, fireplace logs, brush and vegetation, a book, and a plastic porch chair on fire. Reinscheid, who taught at UCI for 12 years, was first arrested on July 24 at around 1 a.m. in the park where his son died. Officers had seen him allegedly trying to set a blaze with newspaper and lighter fluid, CBS reports. The father posted $50,000 bail the same day and was released. However, Irvine police detectives Friday found emails on Reinscheid’s cellphone to his wife and one to himself in April and re-arrested him that evening, the OC Register reports. The emails explained in graphic detail his plan to burn down University High School, buy guns, murder school officials and students, commit sexual assaults and eventually kill himself. When asked if he was working alone or targeting a certain group of people, Orange County Deputy District Attorney Andrew Katz said to the Associated Press, “I can only at this point tell you, he laid out in sufficient detail plans to purchase guns and murder lots of people.” This sounds like this sadistic man finally found a perfect excuse to do things he always wanted to do. This dad has clearly gone off the deep end due to his son’s death, but do you think his bereavement will help his case? Source

Will Matthew Fox Go to Rehab?

Matthew Fox has been involved in a number of bizarre, potentially dangerous incidents in the past year, and it may land the former Lost star in rehab . The actor accepted a plea deal that will allow him to avoid jail time in his Oregon DUI case if he successfully completes a “court diversion program.” He pleaded no contest on June 1 to one count of driving under the influence of intoxicants, and will be forced to treat his apparent alcohol issue. Matthew Fox and his wife, Margherita Ronchi . “He has to go to an evaluator for alcohol [abuse] and complete any recommended treatment program,” Deputy District Attorney Cliff Lu said of Fox. If that means in-patient rehab, then that’s what he’ll do, based on the evaluator’s recommendation. Only then can the DUI charge be expunged. If Fox completes the terms of a diversion program within a year, the DUI charge, which could mean jail time, “is certain to be dismissed,” says Lu. Going to rehab might not be the worst thing. Last summer, Fox was accused of crotch-punching Heather Bormann, the driver of a party bus. She dropped her lawsuit recently, but Fox’s image took another hit when his former co-star Dominic Monaghan said he beats women , often. [Photo: Pacific Coast News]

Random Ridiculousness: Ohio Deputy Gets Fired For Ordering Inmates To Dance To Usher’s “Yeah”

Ohio Deputy Gets Fired For Ordering Inmates To Dance To Usher’s “Yeah” SMH at the inmates doing the worm and the robot to use the phone: Some inmates did the worm, others chose the old school robot. Each dance was performed to the beat of hip-hop artist Usher on command from a now-fired Summit County deputy. The inmate prize: use of a jail microwave. The charges are revealed in an internal affairs report released Wednesday. Deputy Dominic Martucci, 35, was fired for violating the department’s policies, including a mandate that inmates be treated humanely. Martucci is accused of ordering five inmates dance to Usher’s Yeah! song and then inviting other deputies to watch during an early evening shift on April 11. The inmates danced their way to regaining use of a microwave that they had lost earlier that day. Another inmate won the right to use the phone and commissary items for his old-school robot dance routine. Martucci blared the music from a smartphone, the report said. “I did what I had to do so I could use the phone,” the inmate told investigators. A family member had died and he needed to contact relatives, he said. At one point, Martucci signaled a fellow deputy to watch the dance. “Stop and watch this, it’s going to be funny,” he said, according to the report. One inmate said as many as five deputies looked on during the dance. They were also looking to make sure a supervisor was not nearby, investigators said. The inmate said some dancers were rewarded with commissary items, but not him. The inmate was told he “messed up” and faced a trip to the hole. The inmate alleged Martucci demanded he dance “one minute to my liking.” The inmate was eventually let out of lock down, the report shows. The allegations came out through an inmate’s memo to a sergeant sent days later. “[Martucci] told the inmates that if they wanted out of lock up and the microwave back, that they would have to dance for him,” an internal affair report noted. “He let out the [five inmates] and told them to entertain him by dancing…” Martucci was suspended April 23. This week, Sheriff Drew Alexander fired the deputy on departmental charges of mistreating the inmates, misconduct and having a cell phone in the jail. In his defense, Martucci told investigators he forced the inmates to dance in order to regain day room privileges lost earlier in the shift. The inmates did not touch each other. During the internal investigation, investigators said Martucci admitted his actions were wrong, but that he intended only to “lighten the tension” in the jail pod. Another deputy who saw the dancing said the inmates were laughing during the song. SMH. Do you think he deserved to get fired? Source More On Bossip! Mo Money: Lockout Puts Plenty Paper In Owners Hands But Leaves Players With Less Than Before!!!

The NBA lockout is a wrap, so what exactly was all the fuss over again? The Wall Street Journal did a breakdown of who stands to gain the most from the agreement and they’re saying the owners are definitely #winning: The biggest changes will be off the court after owners scored an obvious economic win. The two sides will split the league’s $4 billion in annual revenue almost equally, while in previous agreements the players received 57%. On the court, despite systematic changes like reducing contract length and increasing fees for high-spending teams, most think it will be business as usual. “It’s not exactly the same as it’s always been, but it’s closest to that than something new—this is not a seismic shift,” said Tom Penn, a former Portland Trailblazers executive and a salary-cap expert. “The system still favors aggressive owners who are in go-for-it mode. It will just cost them more.” The league also scored a victory on the business side. The 10-year deal, with an option to terminate after six years by either side, saves not only this season but also the NBA’s image as a viable option for advertising. “The big winners are anyone involved in marketing and financing in the NBA—the advertisers, the sponsors, they’ve got continuity now,” said David Carter, executive director of the Sports Business Institute at the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business. “A lot of people are focusing on what this means right away, but you have to look at it as 10 years that marketing partners and TV partners know they have this.” The NBA salvages its national TV contract with Walt Disney Co.’s ESPN and ABC and Time Warner Inc.’s Turner Sports, which pay the league a combined $930 million per year. Advertisers spent $807 million on NBA games that aired on cable and network TV last season, according to WPP PLC’s Kantar Media. An average of two million people watched regular-season NBA games last year on ESPN, while an average of 2.5 million watched such games on Turner’s TNT, according to Nielsen. NBA Deputy Commissioner Adam Silver said that competitive advantage was “critical” in the negotiations and that the goal of the new deal was for all 30 teams to compete. But USC’s Mr. Carter said although that will be a valuable ticket-selling message for small-market teams, it will still be a “rarity” for small teams to compete at the level of more high-profile teams under the new deal. Mr. Penn, who is now an analyst at ESPN, said small-market teams will still face the same obstacles in the new system, adding that for struggling teams to “make financial ends meet and spend the money you need, it would be nearly impossible to keep up with the Joneses.” The other losers, Mr. Penn said, are the stars. “This is a tough deal for the superstars,” he said. “The years of contract they can sign for goes down, the annual raises go down, maximum salaries over the long term will either level off or go down depending on the salary cap. Once again they won’t be getting their fair share.” Not every star will suffer however. Mr. Penn said that the short-term beneficiaries of the resolution are the Miami Heat, which has three stars—LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade—in the lineup whose contracts have been set, while the rest of the league enters a frantic free-agency period. “I would say the losers in many ways are the fans because you don’t know what product you’re going to get for a significant amount of money,” said Jeff Van Gundy, an ESPN commentator and former NBA coach who took the New York Knicks to the Finals during the lockout-shortened 1999 season. “If you look at it, the drop in the offensive numbers in 1999 was significant, the efficiency of players was poor,” Mr. Van Gundy said. “You can’t skip steps [like training camp], and what the NBA and its players have agreed to is skipping steps and then saying ‘OK, let’s go play great basketball’—and it doesn’t happen that way and the people that pay the brunt of that are the fans.” Training camps and free agency will launch simultaneously on Dec. 9, NBA Commissioner David Stern said, meaning that some teams will start practice with only a handful of players while trying to recruit others. To add to the unpredictability, the league has yet to unveil its 66-game schedule, which is set to begin Dec. 25. SMH @ the Shady Dream Team coming up roses in this deal while the current free agents have no chance of getting those kinds of sweet deals. More On Bossip! Drugs Are Bad M’Kay: One-Time Pops Florida Mom And Take Her Kids After She Asks Them To Arrest The Mailbox!

Stay off them d-rugs especially if you got babies! If there weren’t kids involved, this story would be pure comedy. But since there are it is pretty effing sad: A 32-year-old woman was charged Wednesday for a July incident in which she allegedly asked sheriff’s deputies to arrest her mailbox while high on Xanax, a probable cause affidavit says. Sheila Lederer, of Wellington, was arrested on two counts of child neglect. She was released from jail early this morning after posting $6,000 bond, records show. According to a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s probable cause affidavit, deputies went to Lederer’s house to conduct a welfare check on July 7. Before they arrived, Lederer called 911 saying there was someone hiding in her bushes. When the deputy arrived at her house, Lederer was screaming at a tree and said, “Get out of here,” the affidavit says. She told the deputy she was talking to the tree and the deputy told her, “the tree was unable to talk and that the tree was not a person.” Lederer then told the deputy to arrest her mailbox and tried to climb a bush while yelling that someone was sitting in the bushes spying on her. She then told the deputy she had taken the prescription drug, Xanax. Palm Beach County Fire Rescue crews came to evaluate her, and took her to Palms West Hospital in Loxahatchee where she was Baker Acted, the affidavit says. Before Lederer was transported, she told the deputy no one else was in her house. But the deputy noticed some children’s toys inside. He found a 15-year-old and a 1-year-old lying in bed. One of the children said that Lederer had been calling her the wrong name the whole week, and knew she had a drug problem. The deputy smelled urine and saw feces, old food, ants, and roaches in the house, the affidavit says. The state Department of Children and Families came to Lederer’s house and removed the two children, whose names were withheld in the report.
