Khloe Kardashian and Brody Jenner have spoken out , but only to offer support to Kourtney and express vague concern about Scott’s “issues.” Last night, Kris Jenner stepped out for the LA premiere of the upcoming horror flick The Gallows (Kris Jenner is godmother to star Cassidy Gifford, daughter of Kathie Lee and Frank) and naturally, red carpet reporters asked her about the Kourtney-Scott split. “She’s good. Kourtney’s good,” Kris said. “[She’s] hanging in there.” It’s an interesting response, as several other insiders have stated that Kourtney has been “freaking out” for the past 48 hours, and that she was “blindsided” by photos of Disick cheating with ex-girlfriend Chloe Bartoli . “She can’t believe he’d be so stupid to embarrass her and be photographed all over Chloe,” says one anonymous friend of Kourtney’s. It may be a while before anyone in the family speaks about the breakup in a more in-depth fashion (We’re guessing we’ll have to wait until the next season of KUWTK to get the real dirt.), but the Kards are sending a pretty clear message without saying much: Clearly, Scott is out, and everyone is rallying around Kourtney. Yesterday, we watched the Duggars say goodbye to Jill and Derick Dillard in a “farewell video” the family uploaded to YouTube, but the question of where the couple was headed remains a mystery. We’ve known for some time that Jill and Derick will be doing missionary work in a foreign country, but the newlyweds have kept the details of their journey shrouded in mystery. In fact, the Dillards are so concerned with keeping their whereabouts a secret that they even posted a fake mission trip photo , so as to avoid giving away any details that might lead fans to correctly guess their destination. After all that work we hate to be the ones to let the cat out of the bag, but Duggar devotees have a right to know the truth, right? Sure, why not? Anyway, according to the Duggar Family News Facebook page, Jill and Derick are in El Salvador . It was originally thought that Jill and Derick had hoped to keep their whereabouts unknown so that they wouldn’t be overwhelmed with attention from fans (or critics). Now, however, it seems there may have been another motive for all that secrecy. The town in El Salvador that’s frequented by SOS Ministries (the company through which Jill and Derick arranged their trip) has been described by an anonymous former missionary as a “place where so-called missionaries convert the same ten locals a dozen times a year.” Jill and Derick choosing a cushy gig for their first missionary trip may not seem like a big deal, but coming, as it does, on the heels of the Josh Duggar molestation scandal , it’s the latest in a long line of reminders that not everything with the 19 Kids and Counting Clan is what it seems.
Last week, we learned that Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard will be leaving the US in order to perform missionary work in an undisclosed foreign nation. Yesterday, Jill was accused of faking a mission trip photo and falsely leading her Instagram followers to believe that she and Derick had already set out on their journey. Now, it looks as though Jill, Derick and Baby Israel have indeed left the States and simply posted a photo from an earlier trip in order to keep their destination secret. Could this be a way of reminding fans what they’ll miss out on if 19 Kids and Counting gets canceled ? We don’t know, but it certainly seems to be another small step toward the Duggars rebuilding their battered public image.

When Derick Dillard quit his job at Wal-Mart earlier this month, there was much speculation regarding why a newlywed first-time father would leave a comfortable position in the career field of his choice. Some guessed that Derick was preparing for a role on the long-rumored Jill and Jessa Duggar spinoff series. Others assumed his departure was part of the family’s effort to keep a low profile in the wake of the Josh sexual abuse scandal . Now, the reason for Derick’s career change has become clear, and many are taking it as a sign that 19 Kids and Counting will never return to the airwaves. “God has put a desire in our hearts to serve Him internationally for longer than the typical short-term mission trip, but we didn’t know yet how God would fulfill that desire in us,” Derick and wife Jill Dillard wrote on their personal blog. “Earlier this year God brought about an opportunity much earlier than either of us was expecting. Several months ago a new opportunity arose for us to serve God on the mission field. “After much prayer and seeking Godly counsel, we realized that taking this opportunity and moving overseas in order to serve is the best option for our family…We are currently preparing to leave the US and begin our new endeavor in July.” Derick and Jill did not disclose the location or duration of their missionary work, but it sounds as though they intend to be out of the country for at least several months. With it seeming more and more likely by the day that TLC will cancel 19 Kids and Counting, People Magazine reports that the network is actually considering a spinoff of this popular/controversial reality show. It would turn attention away from the offspring of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and instead center on newlyweds Jill and Derick Dillard, along with Jessa and Ben Seewald.
