Bill Beckwith, a carpenter and fan favorite fixture on HGTV’s show Curb Appeal, has died in a motorcycle crash at the age of 38, the show confirms. Bill Beckwith Dead “Bill was truly a beloved and respected member of our Curb Appeal family and this loss is devastating to us,” HGTV said on the show’s official Facebook page Tuesday. “The HGTV family is deeply saddened by Bill’s tragic death and we mourn his loss along with his many family and friends who will miss his creativity, adventurous spirit and general love of life.” “We send our deepest and most sincere condolences to Bill’s family.” Bill Beckwith was killed Monday night when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle in San Francisco’s Lower Haight neighborhood, CNN affiliate KPIX reported. Beckwith co-hosted Curb Appeal with John Gidding, Chip Wade and Kimberly Lacy. Each episode of the program made over the exterior of a house. As a child, Beckwith was drawn to fixing old structures on his parents’ 60-acre vegetable farm in Maine, according to an HGTV bio of the late TV personality. During summer breaks while attending the University of Montana, where he studied English and martial arts, he restored the cabins of a ranch in Wyoming. He then moved to Northern California and started his construction company, BB Design Build. He will be missed by fans, friends and family alike. R.I.P.

Yeezus Tour Postponed Due To Truck Crash The stans may call him a joke of an artist again, but this is the same guy who wouldn’t let Kim leave the house for months. What do they expect? According to E!: There may be a bit of a bad-luck cloud hanging over Kanye West’s Yeezus Tour. With Friday’s show in Anaheim, Calif., already having been postponed due to “production logistics,” it was announced today that the entire tour is on hold after some essential props were destroyed in an accident. “Yesterday, on the road to Vancouver, a truck carrying The Yeezus Tour’s custom-made video truss and 60-ft circular LED screen was in an accident that damaged the gear beyond repair,” a spokesman for Island Def Jam Music Group said in a statement obtained by E! News. “This gear is central to the staging of The Yeezus Tour, and central to the creative vision put forth by Kanye West and his design team at DONDA.” The huge screen flashes messages at intervals throughout the show, stands in for the moon and sky, allows for artistic zoom-ins on Kanye and his flesh-bodysuit-clad backup dancers, and also serves as the traditional if-you’re-far-away-now-you-can-see-better Jumbotron-like apparatus. “As a result of this event, it is impossible to put on the show and The Yeezus Tour will be postponed until these essential pieces can be reengineered and refabricated,” the statement continued. “Kanye West will not compromise on bringing the show, as it was originally envisioned and designed, to his fans. The Vancouver, Denver and Minneapolis dates have been postponed. So sad. 119 Killed In Poultry Plant Fire In China According to The NY Daily News Fire raged through a poultry plant in northeastern China on Monday, trapping workers inside a cluttered slaughterhouse and killing at least 119 people, reports and officials said. Several dozen people also were hurt in the blaze in Jilin province’s Mishazi township, which appeared to have been sparked by three early morning explosions, the official Xinhua News Agency said. The provincial fire department, on its microblog, attributed the blasts to a leak of ammonia, a gas that is kept pressurized as part of the cooling system in meat processing plants. State broadcaster CCTV quoted unidentified workers as saying the fire broke out during a change of shifts and may have originated in a locker room at a time when about 350 workers were at the plant, owned by Jilin Baoyuanfeng Poultry Co. It wasn’t clear how many workers had been accounted for and a provincial government media official, who refused to give his name, said he expected the death toll to rise further as more bodies were recovered from the charred building. The plant’s ‘’complicated” interior, narrow exits and a locked front gate made escape difficult, Xinhua quoted survivors as saying. Some employees raised the alarm shortly after a shift began at 6 a.m., and then the lights went out, boosting the level of panic as workers rushed to find an exit, employee Wang Fengya told Xinhua. “When I finally ran out and looked back at the plant, I saw high flames,” Wang, 44, was quoted as saying. Xinhua said she and three other workers were sent to a hospital in the nearby provincial capital of Changchun. Another worker quoted by Xinhua, 39-year-old Guo Yan, said the emergency exit at her workstation was blocked and she was knocked to the ground in the crush of workers seeking to escape through a side door. “I could only crawl desperately forward,” Guo was quoted as saying. “I worked alongside an old lady and a young girl, but I don’t know if they survived or not.” The disaster killed 119 people, and 54 people were being treated in hospitals, the provincial government said on its microblog. Calls to fire and rescue services rang unanswered and hospital administrators said they had no information about the injured. By about noon, the fire had been mostly extinguished by about 500 firefighters and bodies were being recovered from the charred buildings. CCTV footage showed dark smoke billowing up from the prefabricated cement structures topped with corrugated iron roofs. The fire highlighted the lax safety standards at many Chinese workplaces, despite efforts to compel improvements through regular inspections and fines. Jason Yan, technical director in Beijing of the U.S. Grains Council, said safety considerations usually take a backseat in China to features designed to maximize production and energy efficiency. “I’m sure they consider some aspects of safety design. I have tried both the SB6120 and the SB6121 and the signal levels and speeds were the same on both. The SB6121 is a little smaller than the SB6120 but runs much warmer than the SB6120. Looks like they tried to cram too much hardware into too small of a space. My SB6121 did not come with the power save button (it#39;s listed as an optional feature), so about the only difference between the two models is the design.
