2 Chainz Charged With Misdemeanor 2 Chainz might be headed to the whoscow According to MTV News: 2 Chainz may be facing jail time over an arrest that took place four months ago. All Hip-Hop shares that the “No Lie” rapper was officially charged with a misdemeanor for obstructing of justice, stemming from his run-in with police in Oklahoma this summer. Chainz took to Twitter to share his dismay. “So the fact that OKC is charging me with obstruction months after pulling my bus over And finding nothing lets me know the devil is busy,” he tweeted on Christmas Eve. Back in August, Chainz was pulled over in his tour bus during the ‘America’s Most Wanted’ tour. A representative from the Oklahoma Police Department told MTV News that the rapper’s bus was pulled over and the driver was arrested after cops suspected that there was drug use onboard. The rapper and his entourage locked the bus door and refused to let police in without a search warrant, maintaining their innocence. Later 2 Chainz explained on “RapFix Live” that he was sick of being a target. “I don’t do anything illegal,” he said. “You’re not gonna find a kilo on my bus. You’re not gonna find an unregistered reason. I went to work all last year. I paid taxes. I did everything I was supposed to do. So maybe people need to start aiming at some criminals. For me, I’m cold turkey on all criminal activities. I don’t wanna do anything criminal. Black Fathers Are Just As Involved With Their Kids As Other Races Via LA Times reports: Defying enduring stereotypes about black fatherhood, a federal survey of American parents shows that by most measures, black fathers who live with their children are just as involved as other dads who live with their kids — or more so. For instance, among fathers who lived with young children, 70% of black dads said they bathed, diapered or dressed those kids every day, compared with 60% of white fathers and 45% of Latino fathers, according to a report released Friday by the National Center for Health Statistics. Nearly 35% of black fathers who lived with their young children said they read to them daily, compared with 30% of white dads and 22% of Latino dads. The report was based on a federal survey that included more than 3,900 fathers between 2006 and 2010 — a trove of data seen as the gold standard for studying fatherhood in the United States. In many cases, the differences between black fathers and those of other races were not statistically significant, researchers said. The findings echo earlier studies that counter simple stereotypes characterizing black fathers as missing in action. When it comes to fathers who live with their kids, “blacks look a lot like everyone else,” said Gretchen Livingston, a senior researcher at the Pew Research Center who has previously studied the topic. And in light of the negative stereotypes about black fathers, “that is a story in itself.” “People think they don’t care, but we know they do,” said Joseph Jones, president of the Center for Urban Families, a Baltimore advocacy group that works with African American fathers. “We see how dads are fighting against the odds to be engaged in the lives of their children.” Sit down haters! According to Business Insider: In July, the rapper and business mogul Jay Z partnered with Samsung to release a new album, “Magna Carta Holy Grail,” by giving away 1 million copies to the first Samsung mobile users to download a free app. According to research from celebrity branding expert Jeetendr Sehdev, Jay Z’s partnership with Samsung was the second least popular celebrity marketing deal of 2013 among consumers aged 13-31 (Justin Bieber’s partnership with OPI was the most hated). In fact, the 1,000 millennials surveyed said the rapper himself was among the people least influential to their purchase decisions among the 80 celebrities Sehdev asked about, a group that included a range of personalities spanning from Tom Brady to Hillary Clinton. Sehdev said that while Jay Z remains popular with Americans of all ages, his brand is missing one crucial piece needed to persuade them to spend hard-earned money on the products he touts: authenticity.
