Gandolfini was in Italy to attend the 59th Taormina Film Festival in Sicily — and he was scheduled to participate in a festival event this weekend with Italian director Gabriele Muccino. Gandolfini shot to fame playing a hitman in the 1993 hit “True Romance” … and quickly became a Hollywood legend when he was cast as Tony Soprano in 1999. He won 3 Emmy awards for the role during the show’s 6 season run. Gandolfini also appeared in a ton of huge movies including “Get Shorty,” “The Mexican” and “Zero Dark Thirty.” We last spoke to Gandolfini in May in L.A. — he was in great spirits, making funny faces and joking about a “Sopranos” movie. Brother Kills Sister With Wrestling Moves According to Mail Online A 13-year-old boy has been arrested after allegedly using wrestling moves he had seen on television on his five-year-old half sister, who died from the brutal beating. Viloude Louis suffered broken ribs, internal bleeding and a lacerated liver after Devalon Armstrong repeatedly slammed her on a bed, punched her in the stomach, jumped on her and struck her with his elbow several times, police said. Deputies say they received a 911 call from the home in Terrytown, Louisiana on Sunday afternoon saying the girl had been found unconscious on the bathroom floor. Paramedics found the girl unresponsive and she was pronounced dead a short time later. Armstrong was arrested on Tuesday after a coroner investigation found the girl died of multiple injuries, two days after the death, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s spokesman Col. John Fortunato said. Detectives initially spoke with the girl’s mother, Adlourdes Desvallons, 39, and found out that the teenager had been babysitting while she went to the store, Fortunato told The Times-Picayune. Devalon told investigators the girl had a stomach ache and went upstairs to brush her teeth, and 30 minutes later he found her on the floor complaining her stomach still hurt, Fortunato said. The teenager claimed he took the girl downstairs to the sofa and called 911 when he saw she was no longer breathing. Dispatchers told him to start CPR and paramedics arrived on the scene. The coroner’s office said there did not appear to be any outward signs of injury and her death was left as unclassified, but on Monday, Devalon told detectives he had been practicing World Wrestling Entertainment-style moves on the girl, The Times-Picayune reported. He said that even when his little half sister said she was in pain, he continued to carry out the moves on her. Detectives added that he appeared to be enjoying talking about the assault. The Sheriff’s office has now classified her death as a homicide and Devalon was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder and is being held at a juvenile detention center. Poor baby must have been scared out of her mind. God rest her soul.

Massachusetts Woman Admits To Faking Kidnapping After Being Found Locked In Her Own Car Trunk Via ABCNews A woman faked her own kidnapping because she was “intoxicated by fear” of getting caught driving under the influence, police told ABC News. The Beverly Police Department in Massachusetts charged Maria Brayfield, 24, with filling a false police report on Monday. “She maintained that she was kidnapped until she was questioned by our department’s criminal investigations unit,” said department spokesman Officer Michael Boccuzzi. That is when Brayfield confessed, he said. “She said she was ‘intoxicated by fear’ and that she was afraid she had been driving under the influence,” Boccuzzi said. Police could not confirm if Brayfield had been actually driving while intoxicated. Brayfield was found early Monday morning on the side of a highway by two men. Wait, what?!? “The two men found a white Ford Focus parked along side the highway. They thought it was an accident so went up to the car to help. They heard screams from the back of the car, broke the rear window, and found the woman locked in the back of the hatchback,” Boccuzzi said. Brayfield told the two men she had been kidnapped. “She told them that two men dressed in black and wearing masks abducted her from her apartment, forced her to drive her own car, and then locked her in the back. She repeated this story to officers who arrived on the scene,” the cop said. Brayfield recanted her story later in the day after police questioned her, Boccuzzi said. The Beverly Police Department are conducting no further investigation. Brayfield is due to appear in court at a later date. At least she said they were “DRESSED in black” and not “black men”.
