SMH… here we go again … Noel Carter Beating A Florida man is making national headlines after he was seen on camera being brutally kicked and tasered by police while he was unarmed and sitting on a curb. The Orlando Sentinel reports: An Orlando police officer kicked an unarmed man at least six times while the suspect sat on a downtown curb, according to video shot by an onlooker, and as he did, another officer shocked the man with a Taser. The Police Department on Monday released the video-recording, which shows Officers David Cruz and Charles Mays arresting Noel Carter, a 30-year-old Hollywood, Florida, man in downtown Orlando Thursday about 10 p.m. The video of Thursday’s arrest was made by a woman who lives across Orange Avenue from the spot of the arrest and appears to show Carter complying with the officers when Cruz, standing to the man’s right, begins delivering kick after kick to his right arm. According to police, that was only part of what happened. The officers were off-duty, working security at Venue 578, a nightclub at the corner of Orange Avenue and Concord Street, when they saw Carter “using physical force” against a woman, the officers wrote in an incident report. Carter was drunk, his girlfriend had just broken up with him, but he was grabbing at her and attempting to keep her from walking away, Cruz wrote. The officers tried to arrest him, according to the report, but he refused to cooperate and tried to run away. The video first appeared Friday, broadcast by WESH-Channel 2. It does not show Carter fighting or resisting arrest. However, on Monday the department produced new supplemental reports. In them, the officers wrote that they argued and struggled with Carter over a distance of 75 to 100 yards. SMH….why’d they have to kick that man while he was just sitting there????
50 Cent Disses Empire After Power Gets A Third Season 50 Cent recently fired shots at Fox’s hit series ‘Empire’ once again after his show ‘Power’ was renewed for a third season. Via EW : 50 Cent still isn’t on board with Lucious and Cookie, it seems. The rapper, who stars in and executive produces the Starz drama Power, has once again criticized Fox’s popular series Empire. This time, 50 took the show to task for being on a network viewers can watch for free, whereas Power is “worth paying for.” “EMPIRE is some sh!t you should get for free,” he said below an Instagram photo of himself. “Now that power is worth paying for, STARZ premium cable. SAT, 9pm don’t miss it you want to be the only motherfvcker that don’t know what’s going on?” 50 Cent shouldn’t be too worried about competition at this point, though. Ornette Coleman Dead At 85 Another legendary musician was lost today. Jazz composer and saxophonist Ornette Coleman has passed away at age 85. Via NYTimes : Ornette Coleman, the alto saxophonist and composer who was one of the most powerful and contentious innovators in the history of jazz, died on Thursday in Manhattan. He was 85. The cause was cardiac arrest, a family representative said. Mr. Coleman widened the options in jazz and helped change its course. Partly through his example in the late 1950s and early ’60s, jazz became less beholden to the rules of harmony and rhythm while gaining more distance from the American songbook repertoire. His own music, then and later, embodied a new type of folk song: providing deceptively simple melodies for small groups with an intuitive, collective musical language and a strategy for playing without preconceived chord sequences. In 2007, he won the Pulitzer Prize for his album “Sound Grammar.” So sad. May he rest in peace.

Cooking it in an oven. Woman Kills Puppy In Oven A 24-year-old Illinois woman was recently arrested for killing her boyfriend’s Pitbull puppy by putting it in a hot oven. The News-Gazzette reports: A judge set a high bond for a woman accused of killing her ex-boyfriend’s puppy by placing it in a hot oven. Kinny Redmon, 24, who listed an address in the 200 block of South Country Fair Drive, Champaign, was charged with animal torture and aggravated cruelty to animals — both felony offenses — for allegedly putting a 3-month-old pit bull in a 300-degree oven and shutting the door. An Urbana police report said the 31-year-old owner of the dog and Redmon used to date and have a child in common but broke up about six months ago. However, the man allows Redmon to stay at his house in the 800 block of East Water Street in Urbana. On Wednesday, the two got into an argument and the man left the house early for work, leaving his puppy in a crate. Redmon was not there at the time. While he was at work early Thursday morning, he noticed that he had missed three different calls on his cellphone. Urbana police investigator Dave Smysor said the woman called him back again and said, “Go get yo’ puppy out the oven, (expletive),” then hung up. Smysor said the man returned home and found his oven on, set at 300 degrees, and a chair pushed up against the oven door. He found the puppy dead inside. Police reported an overwhelming stench coming from the house. Wow, that poor puppy.
