Teen Posts Craigslist Ad Seeking To Rent Family For Bday An incredible 19-year-old Denver woman is turning to Craigslist for an unusual, and heartfelt request. Via The Denver Channel : Natalie Carson said she grew up in foster care and was never adopted. She posted an ad on Craigslist in hopes of finding a family to spend time with her on her birthday. It’s a request that may seem so simple, but Carson says it will help make a usually difficult day, special. “It’s something that I’ve never really had. Of course, I’ve had birthdays, but they haven’t been good,” she said. “Usually every birthday is really painful and hard.” Carson said she was a baby when she was first placed in foster care in Colorado. She was quickly adopted and moved with her adoptive family to Georgia. “They were abusing me and so I got placed back into foster care when I was 12,” Carson said. At 18, she aged out of the system. On her own for the first time, Carson took a bus back to Colorado. “I really didn’t know anything, but I knew I was born here,” she said. 7NEWS looked further into this cycle and found that last year in Colorado, more than 200 teens aged out of foster care, according to the Department of Human Services. “There’s something more, you know, than just me because there’s a million more of me,” Carson said. Experts tell 7NEWS it’s not unusual for birthdays, graduations, and holidays to be difficult for youth without families. Carson said she found support at Urban Peak, a Denver shelter that helps young people experiencing homelessness. The student was able to get her GED and is now working and attending college with a focus on computer science. As for the heartfelt ad on Craigslist, Carson said she didn’t think anyone would answer — but turns out several people have already reached out to her. “It felt good I was happy, and I’ve been talking to one family in particular,” she said. Carson has hope that she’ll finally have the birthday she’s always wanted. “I felt like having one day where it’s OK — this is about me and it’s my birthday,” Carson said. “I don’t have this big elaborate plan or anything, I just wanted it to be good.” On Friday, Natalie said she’s grateful for an outpouring of support but overwhelmed by a flood of emails as her story has received international news coverage. She’s talking with people who have offered to help make her birthday special. Now she’s asking others who want to help to instead support other foster care children or organizations that aid foster kids. We hope this young lady gets the birthday party she deserves!

Tracy Morgan Settles Civil Lawsuit With Walmart For Fatal Accident How big a check do you think they had to write Tracy Morgan ? Via ABCNews Walmart has agreed to settle a civil lawsuit brought by comedian Tracy Morgan, ABC News has learned. The terms of the proposed settlement were not disclosed, and will need to be approved by a federal judge in New Jersey, where the case was filed. A representative for Morgan did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Last June, Morgan, 46, was involved in a serious accident on the New Jersey Turnpike after a Walmart truck slammed into the limo van in which he was traveling. The comedian sustained a brain injury, as well as a broken leg, nose and ribs. Three others were injured as well, and his friend, comedian James McNair, died. “He’s still fighting and trying to live his life at the same time and trying to get better, and he’s just not better,” Morgan’s lawyer, Benedict Morelli, said last November. “We’re hoping and praying to get him back to where he was. Identical Twin Sisters Graduate With Identical 4.0 Grade Point Averages Two Virginia twins who were previously were co-Valedictorians at their high school with 4.0 GPAs have done it again. Alissa and Ariel Barrow recently graduated from North Carolina A&T State University with identical 4.0 grade-point averages. Via RelationsNCAT.Edu Their paths through the university have varied only slightly over the past four years. Alissa has been an economics major. Ariel majored in marketing and sales. Alissa had two internships with GE Capital; Ariel, with Kraft and 3M. They’ve been active in different organizations, the Aggie Economics Association for Alissa and the American Marketing Association for Ariel, for example. Their academic accomplishments are nothing new. The twins were co-valedictorians at Armstrong High School in Richmond, Virginia. At A&T, both were honor students and received the Dowdy Scholarship, the university’s preeminent four-year scholarship. And they arrived on campus with the same goal. “When we came in as freshmen, we definitely had a goal to graduate with a 4.0,” Alissa says. “We had an honors mentor who actually had a 4.0. That set the groundwork for us. We said, ‘If she can do it, then we can definitely do it, too.’” After graduation, Alissa will go to work for GE Capital; Ariel will join General Mills. Amazing! Police Destroyed Molestation Report Against Josh Duggar TLC’s ’19 Kids And Counting’ star Josh Duggar recently confessed to molesting his sister and young girls in his community. According to new reports, local law enforcement knew of his disgusting crimes! Via Mediaite : Arkansas police destroyed the 2006 offense report against Josh Duggar that included molestation accusations against him. In Touch magazine published the report earlier this week, which led to Duggar publicly confessing he molested multiple young girls when he was a teenager. But Scott Lewis, a spokesman for the Springdale police, said that they were ordered to destroy the report. Judge Stacey Zimmerman ordered the record expunged from the record on Thursday (the day the scandal broke wide, as Lewis explained. He said, “As far as the Springdale Police Department is concerned this report doesn’t exist.” The confession was such a big deal, TLC pulled its Duggar family-centered show 19 Kids and Counting from its lineup entirely. Florida Woman Covers Hubby In Sauce And Threatens To Carve Him A woman in Florida poured barbecue sauce on her husband before chasing after him with a knife in each hand, according to an arrest report. Via HNGN : In a report made public on Wednesday, 30-year-old Viven Palmer faces charges of battery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and resisting an officer, according to a CBS affiliate, WJAX, in Jacksonville. Police were reportedly called to the home where they saw a man waving and yelling “Help, police,” from his front door. A woman, who was later identified as Palmer, refused to speak to the police as she put items into a car that was parked outside the home. Two children, ages 4 and 9, were inside the car, according to WJAX. Palmer’s husband told police that he and his wife were arguing about getting a divorce when “his wife came after him, damaging property along the way,” according to WJAX. Palmer’s husband told police that his wife ripped off his shirt, poured barbecue sauce on him and hit him. He fought back. When Palmer grabbed the butcher knives, Palmer’s husband said he ran outside. Palmer was released on Tuesday from the Palm Beach County Jail on $5,000 bail. According to WJAX, she has no criminal history. What the hell?!?!?!?!!????????????
