Just days after the Announcement That Shook the World, both One Direction and Zayn Malik appear to be moving on… musically speaking. Yesterday, Niall Horan gave fans a reason to feel better after Malik’s departure , Tweeting that he and his attractive colleagues were working on a new One Direction album . Now, following a heated Twitter exchange between Louis Tomlinson and producer Naughty Boy, the latter has seemingly released Malik’s very first single as a solo artist. Yes, already.
One Direction isn’t having the best time at the moment. Zayn Malik quit the band last week, but it looks like Louis Tomlinson could have easily followed suit. The 23-year-old was allegedly offered to get a head start on a film career in Hollywood, but it would have came at a price. He would have had to leave the group to take this gig. “There were several meetings and it was something that Louis really, really wanted to do,” a source told The Daily Mirror. It is understood that Tomlinson would have played the role of a footballer in a 1960s movie, but it wasn’t meant to be. His schedule just wouldn’t have worked because of his commitment to 1D’s On The Road Again Tour. “He loves football, so the chance to play a footballer was a huge temptation in itself, but he also loved the script and very much saw it as the beginning of an acting career, which is something that he is considering when 1D do finally go their separate ways.” On top of all of this, the singer also called time on his relationship with his girlfriend last week. In the wake of Zayn’s abrupt departure from the band, the remaining members of the band released an official statement to put the minds of fans worldwide at ease. “We’re really sad to see Zayn go, but we totally respect his decision and send him all our love for the future. Zayn loyalists believe his management’s explanation that Malik quit due to stress. Others blame Zayn’s fiancee, Perrie Edwards , claiming that she convinced him to call it quits so that he could focus on their relationship. Now, a new theory is emerging that’s sure to enrage the millions of Directioners who counted Zayn as their fave. Radar Online is reporting that sources connected to the band have revealed that Zayn was actually fired as a result of his escalating bad behavior: “Zayn’s alcohol and drug use became a huge problem,” one insider claims, adding that Malik was eventually given an ultimatum: sober up, or hit the road. “He chose not to get clean and that is when they parted ways,” the source claims. “They gave him every opportunity to clean up his act, but he just couldn’t do it.” Malik’s alleged drug use first came under scrutiny last year when video of Zayn and Louis Tomlinson smoking a joint leaked online. Last week, Zayn Malik quit the current One Direction tour and returned to the UK to be with his fiancee, Perrie Edwards. There were rumors that Malik cheated on Edwards and was rushing back to England in order to save his relationship. The members of One Direction and the band’s PR team have maintained that Malik was simply fed up and stressed out and couldn’t stomach being on tour any longer.
