Dottie Sandusky Testifies at Husband’s Child Sex Abuse Trial

Dottie Sandusky, whose disgraced husband Jerry Sandusky is accused of 52 felony counts of child sex abuse, took the stand in his trial Tuesday afternoon. Dottie Sandusky has stood by her husband, posting his bail, accompanying him to court and issuing a statement last year that proclaimed his innocence. Whether her remarks will change the direction of the case is an open question, but her testimony, at least early on, focused on how she and Jerry met. Jerry Sandusky Trial: Wife to Testify? One witness has testified that he was attacked the Sanduskys’ basement and tried to cry out for help when Dottie was upstairs, only to be ignored. Dottie, who is not charged with any crimes, says all the accusers are lying. Also Tuesday, Sandusky’s attorney closely questioned two Pennsylvania state police investigators about whether they coached Jerry Sandusky accusers . One of the troopers, Cpl. Joseph Leiter, now retired, acknowledged to lawyer Joe Amendola that he told at least one alleged victim of the former Penn State coach that they “wouldn’t be alone” if they came forward because “there were others.” Sandusky is accused of molesting 10 children over a 15-year period.

One Direction Keep Fans Screaming All Night On Tour

U.K. pop sensations hit New Jersey’s IZOD Center for a sell-out show on Friday packed with hits and rocking covers. By Sarah Brotherton One Direction perform in East Rutherford, NJ Photo: Uptin Saiidi/MTV News EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey — Maybe you’ve heard their songs on the radio or caught their TV performances on the “Today” show or “Saturday Night Live” , but nothing quite captures the success of One Direction like the screams. On Friday night, thousands of fans from across the tri-state area hit the IZOD Center, filling the 19,000-capacity arena for the U.K. pop sensation’s latest stop on their headlining Stateside tour. They were there to experience a new wave of a British Invasion, and they weren’t disappointed. Even before the show started, there was an excitement and energy in the air as Directioners — young and old alike — rushed into the building wearing homemade T-shirts, carrying posters and sporting body paint declaring their love for their favorite 1D members, be it Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson or Harry Styles. After two opening acts and a few warm-up songs, including Busta Rhymes and RUN DMC classics, One Direction finally hit the stage as the crowd jumped to its feet. Opening with ” Na Na Na,” the boys — dressed in the matching theme of red, white and blue, but each with their own signature touch — hit the harmonies hard. The concert followed a seasonal theme with corresponding video and costumes to match. A few songs in, Harry told the sell-out crowd, “I think this is our “biggest show” as a band!” which sent fans screaming all over again. Veering from their chart-topping debut album, Up All Night, each 1D member took a shot at a solo cover of some of their favorite songs, including the Black Eyed Peas’ “I Got a Feeling” and the Gym Class Heroes hit “Stereo Hearts.” The boys then sat on stools as they serenaded fans with “Moments.” Cell phone lights took the place of lighters as the audience sang every word of the ballad. After a quick change into the next outfit (and the next season), 1D proceeded with some of their more popular hits, including “More Than This” and the album’s title track, “Up All Night.” The set soon moved onto the live-tweeting portion of the show, where fans tweeted questions from the audience to their favorite bandmember. Then Liam showed off some beat-boxing skills and Harry attempted to do the worm before the guys were back at it with another cover, this time the hit Kings of Leon song “Use Somebody.” To end the night, 1D gave a shout-out to their impressive backing band and closed with singles “One Thing” and, of course, their #1 hit “What Makes You Beautiful.” But a perfect evening of hearty pop wouldn’t be complete without an encore! So the boys returned to perform “I Want” to the delight of their devoted fans. If you missed the 1D performance on Friday, fear not Directioners, a full list of U.S. tour dates is available on their official website . Full Set List : 1. “Na Na Na” 2. “Stand Up” 3. “I Wish” 4. “I Got a Feeling”; “Stereo Hearts”; “Valerie”; “Torn” 5. “Moments” 6. “Gotta Be You” 7. “More Than This” 8. “Up All night” 9. “Tell Me a Lie” 10. “Everything About You” 11. “Use Somebody” 12. “One Thing” 13. “Save You Tonight” 14. “What Makes You Beautiful” 15: “I Want” (Encore) Are you going to check out 1D on tour? Carrie Underwood Repeats As Billboard Champ

Blown Away #1 again as Adele moves back up to #2. By Gil Kaufman Carrie Underwood’s Blown Away Album Cover Photo: Arista Just as the 11th season of “American Idol” is wheezing to a close
, the top three contenders can take some heart in the fact that former champ Carrie Underwood is still at the top of her game. Underwood’s latest, Blown Away , will spend a second week at the top of the Billboard 200 charts thanks to sales of 120,000, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan. Though sales were down 55 percent, that was enough to edge out a resurgent Adele , who may have benefitted from the Mother’s Day Bump for her unstoppable 21 , which was up 31 percent and two spots to #2 on sales of 101,000. That holiday push helped lift Adele over the 9 million mark in the U.S., with diamond status now well within reach. The rest of the top 10 was fairly stable, with buzz band Silversun Pickups landing an impressive debut at #6 with their third full-length studio album, Neck of the Woods , while Tank rumbled in at #9 with This is How I Feel (33,000). The rest of the top 10: Lionel Richie continues his remarkable late-career roll with Tuskegee , which moved up three spots to #3 (71,000) as sales passed the 750,000 mark. NOW 42 held in at #4 (65,000), followed by Norah Jones , Little Broken Hearts (60,000), One Direction , Up All Night (#7, 40,000), Jack White , Blunderbuss (#8, 34,000) and Luke Bryan , Tailgates & Tanlines (#10, 26,000). It was a swift trip in, and out, of the top 10 for B.o.B , whose Strange Clouds fell seven spots in week two to #12 as sales dipped by 67 percent to 25,000. Further down the line, British soft rockers Keane were in at #17 with Strangeland (19,000), while “SNL” musical guests and Internet sensations Karmin snuck into the top 20 at #18 with their debut EP, Hello (19,000). Underwood also topped the iTunes album chart, acing out Silversun Pickups, who were followed by Adele, B.o.B, One Direction, Karmin, Keane, Gotye ‘s Making Mirrors , White and Jones. On the iTunes singles chart, Maroon 5 locked down #1 with “Payphone,” beating out Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know,” Carly Rae Jepsen ‘s “Call Me Maybe,” Justin Bieber ‘s “Boyfriend” and fun. ‘s “We Are Young.” Flo Rida was at #6 with “Wild Ones,” Nicki Minaj just behind with “Starships,” then One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful,” Jennifer Lopez ‘s “Dance Again” and 2 Chainz ‘s “No Lie.” The top 10 will get shaken up next week with the arrival of Adam Lambert ‘s second major-label album, as well as new discs from Beach House , Godsmack , the “Glee” Cast Graduation album and the newest slab of rockitude from Tenacious D . Before You Freak: Jimmy Kimmel, Carrie Underwood Duet on New Hit Single

Didn’t see this one coming. Carrie Underwood duets with Jimmy Kimmel on “Before You Freak,” a follow-up of sorts to the cutie’s hit “Before He Cheats.” The message: Check the plates before you smash a dude’s truck. Some of them sure do look alike, especially in crowded parking lots. At night. Tipsy. In the clip, Kimmel, proudly sporting a hot fanny pack, is seen leaving a karaoke bar and heading to his truck, only to find Carrie annihilating his ride. Jimmy Kimmel & Carrie Underwood – Before You Freak “Some crazy girl I never met before is taking a bat to my 4×4,” the talk show host sings. “My boyfriend’s being a total schmuck,” Underwood retorts. Only problem is, “That’s not his truck,” clarifies JK, adding: “The next time you should think before you freak.” Words to live by … if it’s not too late. Underwood’s subsequent apology isn’t enough for Kimmel, who also lost a Hello Kitty toy, Al Gore bobblehead and a poster of James Van Der Beek. Some wounds may never heal.

Hollie Cavanagh on American Idol Elimination: No Complaints!

Hollie Cavanagh “just kind of knew.” That’s what she told reporters not long after hearing her name announced as the latest American Idol elimination . That was the feeling she had when she woke up. So, once the premonition became a reality, how did Hollie feel? Honestly, if you’d asked me a couple of weeks ago I would’ve been upset and in tears, but you can’t really complain when you are at the top four,” she said. “There were so many people previously in the competition that would have died to have been in this spot, so I am proud of myself at this point.” That’s certainly the right attitude to take, but try telling it to Joshua Ledet ! He was more of a mess than Cavanagh after the results were unveiled. “I don’t know why the boy was crying, I’ll get to see him in like two days!” Hollie laughed. Cavanagh added that she truly has “no idea” who among the final three will win, but she does have nothing but nice things to say about the judges. “They said how proud they were of me and how far I had come. Now I’m just looking to the future and see what the future brings. I don’t want to look down as I have no regrets – I saw myself grow through the whole process and I’m proud of myself. I don’t take anything back.” DO YOU THINK HOLLIE DESERVED TO BE SENT HOME NOW?

Sarah Tressler, Houston Chronicle Reporter, Fired For Moonlighting as Stripper

Sarah Tressler, a 30-year-old reporter who was fired by the Houston Chronicle because of her second job as a stripper, has filed a formal complaint against her former newspaper employer, alleging sex discrimination. Tressler was working as a society and general assignment reporter for the Chronicle and writing an anonymous blog entitled “Diary of an Angry Stripper” when another paper, the Houston Press , revealed her part-time profession. She said the major newspaper fired her “because of a claim that I did not disclose on my employment application that I worked as an exotic dancer.” Sarah Tressler Press Conference “I feel that women should not be denied other employment because they have worked as an exotic dancer ,” said Tressler, in response to her dismissal. Tressler has hired high-profile attorney Gloria Allred and filed a charge of gender discrimination with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Allred said Tressler was stripping as an independent contractor, not an employee, so she had no reason to list exotic dancing on her job application. “Most exotic dancers are female, and therefore terminating an employee because they had previously been an exotic dancer would have an adverse impact on women, since it is a female dominated occupation,” Allred said.
