It was less than two years ago that most American filmgoers became familiar with Gemma Arterton, the 24-year old British actress whose all-too-brief tenure in Quantum of Solace ended in… well, oily fashion. Arterton has been more than a little busy (and conspicuous) in the time since, with another pair of blockbuster appearances culminating in this week’s new indie thriller The Disappearance of Alice Creed — in which her title character puts up much more of a fight than her doomed Bond girl.

Fed to the Dogs – Missing Brazilian Football Players Ex-Lover’s Fate Revealed

The missing former lover of a top Brazilian football star was strangled and then fed to dogs, police say. Eliza Samudio, 25, was a former girlfriend of Bruno Fernandes, goalkeeper for Flamengo, Brazil's most popular club. He handed himself into police after a warrant was issued for his arrest over her disappearance nearly a month ago. Mr Fernandes, 25, has denied any wrongdoing, and said he has a “clear conscience”. But police say a teenage cousin of Mr Fernandes has given evidence that the goalkeeper was involved in her kidnap and suspected murder. added by: jubal

Van Der Sloot’s Confession

Finally Van Der Sloot admitted that he had killed 21-year-old Stephany Flores on May 30. Stephany Flores was found dead in the hotel room where she was staying with him. An investigation has been conducted in relation to the murder and Van Der Sloot is considered as a suspect. Van Der Sloot is also suspected for the murder of U.S. teen in Aruba in 2005. Police has taken him into custody for three days and they are questioning him about the murder. On the third day, he confessed his crime. Stephanie Flores and Van Der Sloot were in a hotel room. The surveillance camera showed that they entered the room at 5 a.m. Saturday. After 4 hours, he went out and brought 2 coffees and bread from the market. Stephany was found dead in the room and her neck was broken. It seemed that she was beaten to death. She was a business student and the two met at a casino. Stephany’s brother is hoping for justice. There are speculations that Van Der Sloot will get 35 years of sentence for murder. He was already alleged for the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. Fears for crops as shock figures from America show scale of bee catastrophe

The evidence that honeybees are in terminal decline has emerged from the United States where, for the fourth year in a row, more than a third of colonies have failed to survive the winter. The decline of the country's estimated 2.4 million beehives began in 2006, when a phenomenon dubbed colony collapse disorder (CCD) led to the disappearance of hundreds of thousands of colonies. Since then more than three million colonies in the US and billions of honeybees worldwide have died and scientists are no nearer to knowing what is causing the catastrophic fall in numbers. The number of managed honeybee colonies in the US fell by 33.8% last winter, according to the annual survey by the Apiary Inspectors of America and the US government's Agricultural Research Service (ARS). The collapse in the global honeybee population is a major threat to crops. It is estimated that a third of everything we eat depends upon honeybee pollination, which means that bees contribute some
