Is Sexy Fright Night Star Sandra Vergara REALLY Sofia Vergara’s Sister? [PICS]

They’re both Columbian, they’re both Vergaras, and they’re both super sexy. There’s no doubt about that. But according to Sofia Vergara , boobalicious star of Modern Family , the woman whom reporters have been calling her “younger sister,” Fright Night star Sandra Vergara (standing at left), isn’t really her sibling. As it turns out, Sandra is actually Sofia’s cousin, but the two were raised together- Sandra was taken in by Sofia’s parents at an early age. Sofia’s upset that Sandra isn’t making the distinction in the press, basically accusing her soon-to-be-estranged relative of riding her big, round, delicious coconuts- er, coattails- to stardom. Sandra has a sexy role in the upcoming vampire remake Fright Night, including several scenes where she strips to her bra and one Colum-believable thong shot as she puts on a black robe. Could she be purposefully playing up the Sofia commection to get more publicity for her role? Or is Sofia simply failing to show the adopted-sisterly love? Skin Central doesn’t really care, as long as these addictive Columbian exports keep showing up on our computer screens! Play com-bare and contr-ass with Sandra Vergara and Sofia Vergara after the jump!

A Little Help: Jenna Fischer Speaks on Lead, Dramatic Movie Role

The Office’s Jenna Fischer is no stranger to being in front of the camera, but headlining a major motion picture, as she does in A Little Help – in one of her first dramatic roles, no less – was an adjustment for the actress. The role of a train-wrecked wife and mother was markedly different from Pam Beesly, and did come naturally, Jenna tells our partner site, Movie Fanatic. “This character was the biggest departure from my actual personality than anyone I’ve ever played before, so that was a challenge,” Fischer explains. Linda Christian, Early Hollywood Icon and First Bond Girl, Passes Away

Linda Christian, a 1940s Hollywood star with the distinction of being the very first Bond Girl, has died in Palm Desert, Calif., at the age of 87. A brunette beauty born Blanca Rosa Welter in Mexico, Christian was discovered in Acapulco, Mexico by Warner Bros. movie star Errol Flynn. Life magazine, in writing of her curves, dubbed her the “anatomic bomb.” She married 20th Century Fox’s biggest star, Tyrone Power, in 1949. The marriage ended in a 1956 divorce, though it produced two daughters. In the ’60s, she was also briefly married to the actor Edmund Purdom. Christian starred as Vesper Lynd, James Bond’s romantic interest, in the 1954 TV adaptation of Casino Royale , with Barry Nelson as 007. The episode was part of a CBS dramatic series called Climax . Author Ian Fleming’s character was so new that Bond was called “Jimmy.” Christian’s best-known film was 1963’s The V.I.P.s , which starred Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton immediately after they did Cleopatra . ‘Cars 2’ Parks At #1 For Weekend Box-Office Debut

‘Bad Teacher,’ starring Cameron Diaz, makes a strong showing at #2, with ‘Green Lantern’ following behind at #3. By Ryan J. Downey “Cars 2” Photo: Disney “Cars 2” may be the worst-reviewed movie in Pixar’s storied history, but that didn’t stop the animated sequel from maintaining the studio’s streak of box-office number ones. The second entry in the merchandise-friendly franchise took in $68 million over the weekend, according to distributor Walt Disney Studios, making it Pixar’s 12th consecutive movie to debut atop the box-office charts. Thanks to higher ticket prices and expensive 3-D screenings, “Cars 2” enjoyed the fifth-biggest opening for a Pixar film ever. In terms of attendance, however, the “Cars 2” debut was ahead of only “A Bug’s Life,” “Ratatouille” and the beloved company’s first feature film, 1995’s “Toy Story.” The 3-D fatigue evidenced by other recent openings continued as a mere 40 percent of moviegoers chose to see “Cars 2” in that format (versus the 60 percent who opted to see “Toy Story 3” in 3-D). “Bad Teacher,” the weekend’s other new wide release, debuted at #2 with $31 million. It was a strong showing for the reportedly low-budget Cameron Diaz vehicle, which industry watchers had predicted would be less well-received. Debuting the adult-oriented comedy against the family-oriented “Cars 2” was apparently a wise choice on the part of Sony Pictures, who released the film. Warner Bros., meanwhile, watched “Green Lantern” drop 66 percent in its second weekend of release. A sequel was already in development before Ryan Reynolds hit the screen as the DC Comics hero, but there has been little news about those plans since its lukewarm debut. “Lantern” made $18.4 million over the weekend for an $89.3 million total. With an estimated production budget of $200 million and a major marketing campaign behind it, “Green Lantern” has not done well. “Super 8” bears the distinction of being the only well-reviewed film in the top five. JJ Abrams’ nostalgic homage to ’80s coming-of-age classics took in $12.1 million for a $95.2 million total. Coming in at #5, Jim Carrey’s “Mr. Popper’s Penguins” dropped 44 percent with $10.3 million for a $39.4 million two-week total. “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” seems a safe bet for next weekend’s number one. Taylor Swift Named EW Entertainer of the Year

Talk about an impressive feat: Taylor Swift has been named Entertainer of the Year… for the second consecutive time! Following the Associated Press honoring the singer with this distinction in 2009, Entertainment Weekly has done the same for 2010. What has Taylor done to earn this title from EW ? The Five-Morning After Pill?

A European contraceptive pill that works as a five-day alternative to the “morning after” pill may be coming to the U.S.‘s shores, but a thorny debate around the drug’s use and its chemical relation to the RU-486 abortion pill may have influence on the FDA’s endorsement. The FDA is staged to examine the risks of the new drug next week, but arguments are already heated as sides debate issues around when life begins and the rights of women to control their own bodies. —JCL The Washington Post: A French drug company is hoping to offer American women something their European counterparts already have: a pill that works long after “the morning after.” The drug, dubbed ella, would be sold as a contraceptive—one that could prevent pregnancy for as many as five days following unprotected sex. But the new drug is a close chemical relative of the abortion pill RU-486, raising the possibility that it could theoretically be used to induce abortion by making the womb inhospitable for an embryo. The controversy sparked by that ambiguity will force a panel of federal advisers scheduled to consider endorsing the drug next week to grapple with a host of thorny issues. The last time the Food and Drug Administration vetted an emergency contraceptive—Plan B, the so-called morning-after pill—the decision was mired in debate over such fundamental questions as when life begins and the distinction between preventing and terminating a pregnancy. Ella is raising many of those same politically charged questions—but more sharply, testing the Obama administration’s pledge to keep ideology from influencing scientific decisions. REVIEW: Leading Ladies Lift Lovely Letters to Juliet

Gary Winick’s Letters to Juliet is such a gentle romantic comedy that it barely feels like a romantic comedy at all, at least not in the way we currently define the genre. There’s no Amy Adams hilariously slipping through the mud in her high heels, no Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey uproariously pretending not to like each other as they traipse around some tropical island in their shorts, no dueling brides catfighting about who’s going to have her dream wedding at the Plaza on a specific day. Letters to Juliet also has the distinction of featuring a marvelous performance from the woman who is, in my view, our greatest living actress.
