By Rob Markman, with reporting by Vanessa Whitewolf Cali Swag District Photo: MTV News Though Mante “M-Bone” Talbert has been laid to rest, the remaining members of Cali Swag District said they will carry on his legacy with their work. “We’re just focused on staying positive and doing what we were doing prior to this incident,” CSD’s C-Smoove told MTV News. “Basically, make M-Bone’s legacy and his name live on through us forever, as long as we do it. We don’t feel like this is a time for us to stop; we feel like this is a time for us to go harder.” On May 15, M-Bone was murdered in a drive-by shooting in Inglewood, California. While Cali Swag has been mourning, the group managed to drop its M-Bone dedication song, “How to Do That,” before burying its fallen comrade Friday . Now, the group, who made its mark with the 2010 platinum single “Teach Me How to Dougie,” is readying a new mixtape, Deeper Than the Dougie, and said it will continue to rep for Talbert. “It’s gonna be a lot of tattoos and chains and all that,” Smoove said. “We’re gonna really make his name live on.” The group also revealed that it won’t be adding any new members to replace the CSD dancer. “You see three people right here, but it’s still four people in the group,” Yung said. “M-Bone will be with us forever.” Smoove added: “We won’t be replacing M-Bone. Nobody will ever be able to say, ‘I’m the new fourth,’ and ‘I filled in because of this.’ ” Police are still investigating M-Bone’s murder and have made no arrests. Police cannot confirm TMZ’s report linking a ‘jealous man’ to M-Bone’s death. By Rob Markman M-Bone Photo: Amy Graves/PictureGroup/AP There is much rumor and speculation surrounding the May 15 shooting death of Cali Swag District member Mante “M-Bone” Talbert, 22. At press time, TMZ was reporting that Bone was possibly murdered by a “jealous man,” who threatened Talbert over Twitter. An unnamed woman, claiming to be M-Bone’s girlfriend, told the popular website that the man lived in their apartment complex and was envious of Cali Swag District’s success. She went on to tell TMZ that at around 10 p.m., Bone used her car and said that he was going to the studio. The gossip site is also reporting that a man known as “Bubba” was in the car with M-Bone when the shooting occurred. After the shots were fired, Bubba, who made a cameo in the group’s “Teach Me How to Dougie” music video, was struck with shards of glass in the face and hospitalized for his wounds. M-Bone’s life in photos As of Tuesday morning (May 17), the Inglewood Police homicide division could not confirm any of this information for MTV News. What Inglewood PD homicide Sgt. Brian Spencer could confirm to us is that at about 10:30 p.m. PT Sunday night, police were called to the 400 block of North La Brea Boulevard in Inglewood. When they arrived on the scene they found Talbert seated in the driver’s seat of a black vehicle with at least two gunshots to the head. M-Bone was then taken to a local hospital but eventually succumbed to his injuries. In a statement released on Monday, a rep for Cali Swag said that M-Bone “was the victim of a random act of violence.” Bone was one-fourth of the group that rose to fame with their 2010 platinum single “Teach Me How to Dougie.” The song was an ode to the dance popularized by 1980s rap legend Doug E. Fresh, and its remix featured Jermaine Dupri, B.o.B, Bow Wow and Red Caf

WTF: An abortion doctor who catered to minorities, immigrants and poor women was charged with eight counts of murder in the deaths of a patient and seven babies who were born alive and then killed with scissors, prosecutors said Wednesday. Dr. Kermit Gosnell, 69, made millions of dollars over 30 years, performing as many illegal, late-term abortions as he could, prosecutors said. State regulators ignored complaints about him and failed to visit or inspect his clinic since 1993, but no charges were warranted against them, District Attorney Seth Williams said. Gosnell, his wife and eight other colleagues were arrested overnight Tuesday following a grand jury investigation, MyFoxPhilly.com reports. According to the district attorney’s office, Gosnell is facing murder in the third degree for the death of 41-year-old Karnamaya Mongar. The patient died Nov. 20, 2009, when she was overdosed with anesthetics prescribed by Gosnell, according to the station. Williams said during a press conference Wednesday that Gosnell “induced labor, forced the live birth of viable babies in the sixth, seventh, eighth month of pregnancy and then killed those babies by cutting into the back of the neck with scissors and severing their spinal cord.” The district attorney also said patients were subjected to squalid and barbaric conditions at Gosnell’s Women’s Medical Society. Authorities went to investigate drug-related complaints at the clinic last year and stumbled on what Williams called a “house of horrors.” “There were bags and bottles holding aborted fetuses scattered throughout the building,” Williams said. “There were jars, lining shelves, with severed feet that he kept for no medical purpose.” The clinic was shut down and Gosnell’s medical license was suspended after the raid. Workers, some of whom were also charged with murder, were untrained and unlicensed, including a high-school student who performed anesthesia with potentially lethal narcotics, Williams said. Gosnell has been named in at least 10 malpractice suits, including one over the death of a woman who died of sepsis and a perforated uterus. “I am aware that abortion is a hot-button topic,” Williams told reporters. “But as district attorney, my job is to carry out the law. A doctor who knowingly and systematically mistreats female patients, to the point that one of them dies in his so-called care, commits murder under the law.” Wow. This is crazy!! A new report says prosecutors are ready to file criminal charges against Mel Gibson for hitting Oksana Grigorieva, the mother of his daughter Lucia. The L.A. District Attorney granted Gibson’s lawyer, Blair Berk, a last-ditch meeting late Tuesday, as she sought to persuade authorities against it. Deputy D.A. John Lynch met with Berk at the courthouse for close to two hours, but reports suggest charges against Mel are almost inevitable. Specifically, the charge of domestic violence / corporal injury involving his former cohabitant is looming for the Oscar-winning actor/director, sources say. It can be prosecuted as a felony or misdemeanor, and it’s unclear which (if either) Mel will end up facing. Either way, expect a lengthy court battle. Not to mention a mammoth legal bill for Mel. It’s also worth nothing that despite the “stunning decision” sources claim has been made in this case, Gibson has not actually been charged yet. There are also concurrent court cases involving child custody and Oksana’s alleged extortion of Mel, and how those dovetail with this is unclear. Lynch and associate Simone Shay met with the D.A.’s top brass several weeks ago to present the evidence they believe could convict Gibson. “Blair is aware that the District Attorney is inclined to file charges against Mel,” said one source. “The District Attorney has a very strong case.” Perhaps most surprisingly, the source noted that “There is a lot of information that the public and Mel Gibson are unaware that the DA has.” It’s unclear what that entails. Oksana Grigorieva has claimed Gibson punched her in the head on January 6 at his multi-million dollar Malibu mansion, knocking out two teeth. In a sworn declaration in the couple’s family law case, Gibson later confessed slapping Grigorieva during an argument, but denied hitting her. Then there are the Mel Gibson tapes . While they may not be evidence of a crime, they don’t help the public perception of the actor, either. Stay tuned for further developments …
