Erin Andrews: Photobombed By Spaced-Out, Hilarious Bearded Dude!

Erin Andrews is used to being the center of attention, but one college sports fan somehow managed to take it away from the reporter in an epic photobomb. Check out the bespectacled, bearded dude and his dreadlocked cohort: Erin Andrews Photobomb Yeah. When you can’t even focus on Erin Andrews , that’s a photobomb! Because the video above was posted on Fox Sports’ own YouTube channel, some suspected it might have been some viral marketing effort by the network. Doesn’t look like it. Yahoo Sports says the twosome are just everyday guys on a road trip, and not aligned with Fox or any kind of promotional endeavor. In that case, well played you two. Now go satisfy those munchies.

‘American Idol’ Season Nine: Neither Lee, Crystal Nor Casey Thought They’d Win

DeWyze, Bowersox and James never thought of themselves as front-runners. By James Montgomery Crystal Bowersox Photo: MTV News Modesty is an underrated trait — unless you’re a finalist on “American Idol,” a show that exists solely to discover music’s next great megastar. The whole point of appearing on it is to win, thereby securing a recording contract and the opportunity to become unbelievably famous and wealthy. Modesty, it would seem, has no place on the “Idol” stage. Except for the just-completed ninth season, that is. Because, wow, was this season’s top three modest. At no point during the show’s run did any of the contestants seem to think that they could actually win, and despite the best efforts of journalists — who labeled the final three as “the front-runner” (Crystal Bowersox), “the underdog” ( eventual champ Lee DeWyze ) and “the dark horse” (Casey James) — that never really changed. In fact, based on conversations we’ve had with all three finalists, none of them ever remotely considered themselves the favorite. Not in the slightest. “I never considered myself to be the front-runner, simply because ‘American Idol’ is a show where literally anything can happen,” Bowersox said. “A lot of people that went home we never expected them to go home. … My goal was just to do my best each week and see what happened.” “Not only did I not think that I was the front-runner; I knew that I was not,” James laughed. “A lot of people got into reading the things on the Internet, and I just stayed away from all that. So I don’t know if there was anything that said that, but I never feel that way, and I don’t think it was really the case, either.” “I mean, people were saying stuff like that to me, I’m not going to lie about that, they’d be like, ‘Oh, you’re going to win,’ and I’d be like, ‘Oh, well, there’s still seven weeks to go,’ ” DeWyze added. “I never thought I had it in the bag or anything, but I think you have to have a sense of confidence in yourself, especially when you’re in a competition … [but] being a front-runner or an underdog, or whatever people said, it was hard not to listen to that stuff. You have to ignore it, because it is not a good thing.” That modesty holds true even now that the show is over. Sure, DeWyze is happy he won, but Bowersox and James seem positively giddy that they didn’t. “I’m cool with number two,” the dreadlocked dynamo smiled. “I gave it my best shot.” “I couldn’t have asked for anything better,” the Texas heartthrob added. “I mean, honestly, for me, I’m not going to say anything other than I feel like I’m exactly where I should be.” Get your “Idol” fix on MTV News’ “American Idol” page , where you’ll find all the latest news, interviews and opinions. Bodog.com currently has Andrew Garcia as an early favorite with 4-1 odds. By Kyle Anderson Andrew Garcia Photo: FOX The ninth season of “American Idol” has been amusing so far, delivering a number of memorable moments (including Larry Platt’s “Pants on the Ground” and frontrunner Andrew Garcia’s memorable take on Paula Abdul’s “Straight Up”), but the real business starts tonight. The top 24 have been selected, and now the competition becomes heated. The 12 remaining women will sing tonight, with the 12 men performing on Wednesday (February 24). And despite the fact that producer and judge Simon Cowell believes that a woman will win “American Idol” this time around, the short odds are currently on Garcia, the “Straight Up” singer with former gangsters for parents. According to Internet betting site Bodog , Garcia is an early favorite to win the season by a count of 4-1 (meaning that a bet of $1 will return $4). The ‘American Idol’ Season 9 Top 24 Though Bodog believes Garcia is the favorite, a series of women follow in his wake. Would-be diva Ashley Rodriguez follows close behind with 7-1 odds, just in front of Didi Benami (who performed “Hey Jude” for her deceased best friend in her audition and who has the same chances as Rodriguez). Crystal Bowersox (the dreadlocked girl with the adorable son) and Katie Stevens (the 16-year-old singing for her Alzheimer’s-stricken grandmother) round out the top five with odds of 15-2. In fact, you have to go pretty deep into the list to find another guy (the next on the list is Todrick Hall, who shows up with 15-1 odds). And what is Bodog’s opinion on the long shot for this season? That would be Joe Munoz at 65-1 (who is probably down here because the audience knows next- to nothing about him at the moment). Of course, these lines are likely to change once the public really gets to know the singers in the top 24 and the judges begin to weigh in on their work. Still, it’s a reasonable suggestion of where the favorites are and who needs to make some noise once the show gets real tonight. Who do you think is the “American Idol” season-nine favorite?
