Muslim Woman Sues Planet Fitness For Refusing To Let Her Work Out In Headdress A Muslim woman is pursuing her lawsuit against Planet Fitness after she says the refused to allow her to workout in a religious head covering. via News One Tarainia McDaniel (pictured), recently filed a lawsuit against a Planet Fitness in New Mexico over an incident that occurred in October 2011, claiming that the gym wouldn’t allow her to wear her religious head covering when she tried to work out, reports Albuquerque Journal. According to the 37-year-old Albuquerque resident, she signed a two-year contract with the New Hampshire-based business at one location where she was never given a problem about wearing her Muslim head covering. When McDaniel transferred her membership to another Planet Fitness location, though, she was allegedly told that her religious head covering was not allowed because it was against the gym’s dress code, according to the lawsuit. However, the gym in question did display a sign that read, “No jeans, work boots, bandannas, skull caps, or revealing apparel.” McDaniel alleges in her complaint that she asked the gym’s representatives if she could wear her head covering to accommodate her faith and even asked if she could instead wear a hijab, a more formal piece that covers the head and chest. McDaniel claims that her requests were flatly denied and told that the head coverings were direct violations of the strict gym dress codes. Planet Fitness’ attorney, Erika Anderson ,defends her client’s position regarding the case, telling Albuquerque Journal, “My client’s position is that they didn’t know the head covering was for religious purposes. It violated their dress code policy. But the New Mexico Human Rights Act and the Unfair Practices Act states that Planet Fitness had no legal right to deny McDaniel entry on to its facility while wearing her religious head covering. Parents Of Girls Dispute “Yoga And Leggings” Ban At Middle School An Illinois middle school is catching some major backlash from parents of female students who are outraged at the school’s dress code policy which forbids girls to wear leggings or yoga pants while on school grounds. School administrators implemented the policy on the basis that leggings and yoga pants are ‘a distraction,’ but many parents feel the dress code is encouraging rape culture among the student body. via Huffington Post Parents at a Chicago-area middle school are speaking out against a purported ban on leggings and tight yoga pants arguing the dress code policy unfairly punishes girls. The Evanston, Ill. school’s dress code, which is posted online, states that shorts, dresses and skirts “must extend closer to the knee than the hip, short shorts or skirts and leggings are unacceptable attire. Pants and shorts must be worn at the waist.” After several female students complained they were told they weren’t allowed to wear leggings and tight yoga pants to school, Haven Middle School parents Juliet and Kevin Bond sent a letter on March 11 to the school’s principal, Kathy Roberson, arguing the policy is inconsistently enforced and “contribute[s] to rape culture.” “We are frankly shocked at this antiquated and warped message that is being sent to the kids,” the Bonds, both educators themselves wrote in the letter which was also posted to social media. “This policy clearly shifts the blame for boy’s behavior or lack of academic concentration, directly onto the girls,” the letter read. Roberson responded to the controversy in a letter sent to parents Tuesday. Roberson claims that leggings have not been banned at the school, even as some parents said their girls were told they couldn’t wear either leggings or tight yoga pants, the Chicago Tribune reports. A Haven Middle School advisory team will meet next Tuesday to review the dress code, according to Roberson’s letter. As leggings continue to dominate casual fashion trends for both women and even some men, schools around the country are determining if the look is “in” or “out” when it comes to dress codes. Kenilworth Junior High in Petaluma, Calif., attracted headlines last year when it banned female students from wearing leggings, tight yoga pants and tight jeans saying they were distracting to boys. A Boston-area high school recently enacted a similar policy — for similar reasons. Parents like the Bonds and others have blasted the argument, with Kenilworth parent Lisa Simond telling local news station KTVU, “It is not our girls’ fault that these boys have quote ‘raging hormones’ they can’t control.” ”Boys need to be taught to respect women no matter what they’re wearing, and that’s a big deal,” Jerelyn Kruljac, another Kenilworth parent, told the station.

Farrah Abraham has been served … with a cease and desist letter from Vivid Entertainment, warning her to knock off her recent antics or face consequences. At issue is the fact that the Backdoor Teen Mom star – despite considerable talents with other orifices – is becoming best known for her mouth at this point. Farrah Abraham has been all about slamming the porn industry, despite her very willing participation in (and HUGE profits earned from) her “sex tape.” Vivid CEO Steve Hirsch offered her a million dollars to prove that she was truly drugged and raped while promoting the tape, as she alarmingly claimed. On Couples Therapy on VH1, she made a huge issue of this, even though the claim is dubious at best, and reprehensible if she did indeed fabricate it. Which evidence certainly suggests she did, sadly. She ducked the polygraph offer , basically proving him right. Now he’s fired off a cease and desist letter, essentially prohibiting Farrah from further slander. “Farrah thinks she can insult and defame the Vivid brand and get away with it,” Steve says. “Either she stops now or we will take immediate legal action.” “Farrah will be held accountable.” Read: GIANT LAWSUIT ahead. The exclusive letter actually uses the words ON NOTICE, promising that the company will throw the book at her if she doesn’t shut her yap ASAP. If Farrah Abraham has any brains, she’ll at least refrain from openly and despicably lying about being raped for the sake of interviews or other reality shows.
