The body of Rodney King was discovered at the bottom of a pool by his fiancee last month, with the cause of death listed as “accidental drowning.” That may technically still be the case, but the official death report has come out and it’s undeniable now that the man whose 1991 beating sparked riots in Los Angeles stumbled to his demise at the result of numerous substances in his body. It’s unclear if he jumped or fell into the water, according to the coroner, but King was “in a state of drug and alcohol induced delirium” at the time of his passing. “The effects of the drugs and alcohol, combined with [King’s preexisting heart condition] probably precipitated a cardiac arrhythmia and [King], thus incapacitated, was unable to save himself and drowned,” reads the report, which adds that King was lying naked in the deep end of the pool by the time EMTs arrived. Cynthia Kelly attempted to rescue her fiance with items such as a pitchfork, a hoe and a vacuum pool sweeper – all of which surrounded the area, the report confirms – because she considered herself a poor swimmer and was afraid of jumping in.

Alleged gang thug Michael Mendez is being held by police in Paterson, N.J., after a drug search in his apartment uncovered a shocking discovery: A 44-year old woman. She was kept padlocked in a room by her boyfriend for long periods of time – perhaps as long as a decade – according to law enforcement officials. The woman was discovered by members of the state police investigating Michael Mendez, believed to be a member of the Latin Kings street gang. State police spokesman Sgt. 1st Class Brian Polite said based on interviews and evidence, investigators believe she was held there for 2-10 years. Investigators said the woman was sometimes let out when her boyfriend was home and Mendez, 42, was a familiar face around the neighborhood. A neighbor said he has known Mendez for a dozen years now and that he could often be seen outside, polishing a car and listening to music. The neighbor, who would not give his name due to safety concerns, said he saw the woman a few times in recent years, though it was rare. Neighbors on either side of Mendez’s top-floor, brick-building apartment said they weren’t aware that another person lived in the apartment. Mendez, who police say is a member of the Latin Kings, was being held Monday at Passaic County Jail. Authorities didn’t know if he had an attorney. No one answered when a reporter knocked on his apartment door Monday. Mendez was charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment and other counts related to the drugs officials said they were looking for in the first place. State police said they found 4,200 prescription pills valued at $100,000, 190 grams of marijuana valued at nearly $2,000 and nearly $23,000 in cash.

New Orleans Man Murdered Right After Show Airs Showing Him Snitching Even his friends in the hood know better than being bare faced on TV talking greasy like Brice Parker did. Shortly after a show aired showing a drug bust in his home and him snitching… Brice was murdered: “A Mid-City man is dead after being killed inside his residence Tuesday morning, but it wasn’t the only brush he’s had with crime at his home. That home was also featured on national television hours earlier in a previously recorded drug bust. The bust at 325 North Miro Street earlier this year is what aired on Spike TV’s “Undercover Stings” Monday night, and that address also belonged to Brice Parker, who was killed in the Mid-City home. New Orleans Police say they are trying to find Parker’s killer. Neighbors and friends of Parker, tell WGNO News the 45-year-old’s on-air dialogue with police could have come back to haunt him this morning. “He was telling them where the man had drugs on him and where (the drugs were) hid,” said an anonymous woman, who says she is was a friend of Parker’s. “He said he just got off of a charge, or something and he couldn’t go back to jail. I heard it on TV”, she said. The NOPD couldn’t say whether they thought the murder had any connection to the drug bust months ago or the show’s airing of it Monday night. Neighbors said the bust took place in January, a claim the NOPD couldn’t confirm. A request for comment is in to the producers of “Undercover Stings”. According to Spike TV’s website, the show airs Monday nights from 9 to 10PM, and then again two hours later. Brice Parker was killed at 1AM Tuesday. Anyone with information on his murder is urged to call Crimestoppers at 822-1111.
