RihRih Responds To Dutch Magazine That Called Her Ni**a B***h With Two Choice Words… “Eff You”

RihRih don’t play dat! The Bajan singer apparently didn’t take too kindly to that Jackie Magazine article we told y’all about . She took to her Twitter today to blast the mag’s EIC for the racial slur: And in related news… that same Editor-In-Chief has stepped down after apologizing for the controversy via Facebook, according to NecoleBitchie reports: According to a statement posted on the Magazine’s facebook [translated] the publisher felt as though her credibility was affected and it was best that she resigned: I realize that my first reaction on Twitter, where I indicated that it was a joke, was an incomplete description of what I, and also the author of the article referred. The term ‘n—a b—h’ h” has come over from America and we have only this to describe this particular style of clothes that we can try to interpret. Due to the enormous pressure from social media, I promised to do better regarding the language in future issues of Jackie and I have offered to rectify the situation. I have now come to the conclusion that rectification is not the right solution. I regret that I have taken too quickly positions on an item in Jackie – which incidentally had no underlying racial motive. In the course of events I went with, the publisher came to the conclusion that, now that my credibility is affected, it’s better for all parties if I immediately lay down my duties as editor. After my eight years giving my heart and soul for Jackie, I realize that these errors – although not malicious intent – are a reason for leaving. “ Deuces Beyotch! More On Bossip! Vanessa Vs. Dutch Anti-Piracy Group, With MPAA’s Help, Able To Grab 29 US-Hosted Domains… With No Trial Or Notice

Now that the US government appears to be endorsing the idea of simply seizing domain names without notice( http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20101128/15302012021/who-needs-coica-when-homel… ) to the proprietors of those domains, it appears that others are doing the same as well. TorrentFreak reports that the Dutch anti-piracy group, BREIN, with help from the MPAA, has been able to get 29 different domain names — all hosted in the US — to point to BREIN's homepage instead( http://torrentfreak.com/mpaa-shuts-down-29-bittorrent-and-nzb-sites-101215/ ). The owners of those domains were apparently given no notice and no recourse. It sounds like most of the sites did not host any content but linked to potentially infringing content. Whether or not you believe that simply linking to potentially infringing content should be against the law, we're seeing yet another example of the simple lack of due process and how this may impact other areas. If BREIN can get US domains shut down, what's to stop other countries from doing the same thing? China doesn't like reporting by an American site about China? What's to stop it from trying to “seize” that domain? Even if we grant the idea that many of these domains were engaged in or encouraging unauthorized copying of works covered by copyright, why should BREIN and the MPAA simply get to shut them down without any sort of trial? http://torrentfreak.com/mpaa-shuts-down-29-bittorrent-and-nzb-sites-101215/ Update: TorrentFreak requested a list of the affected domains from BREIN and received this response from Tim Kuik. “No that would amount to free PR for the sites that intend to continue their unlawful activities at another hosting provider. These are not large sites and we want to keep it that way.” In response to a question about how the sites were taken offline: “The sites were taken down by the hosting provider,” said Kuik. http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20101215/11300412292/dutch-anti-piracy-group-wi… added by: toyotabedzrock

Doutzen Kroes got married over the weekend. What the hell? I didn#39;t even get an invite. What about that whole “still want to be friends” talk we had? Anne Frank Tree Collapses in Storm

A giant chestnut tree that comforted Anne Frank as she hid from the Nazis in an Amsterdam attic has collapsed during a rain storm. No one was hurt when the 150-year-old tree fell across a fence at the Anne Frank House. The building she hid in for over two years during the Second World War has since been turned into a museum in the Dutch capital. The tree was one of the few signs of nature Anne could she see as she hid from the Nazis. It is mentioned in her diary, which became a worldwide best-seller after her death in a concentration camp in 1945. “Our chestnut tree is in full blossom. It is covered with leaves and is even more beautiful than last year,” she wrote in May 1944, not long before she was betrayed to the Nazis. The tree had developed fungus and was set to be felled in 2007 due to concerns for the safety of the thousands of tourists who visit Anne Frank's house each year. But officials and conservationists later agreed to secure it with a steel frame to prolong its life and saplings were planted last year in an Amsterdam park and other cities around the world. http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/World-News/Anne-Frank-Giant-Chesnut-Tree-That-C… added by: SarahAna
