Today there is headline after headline in the mainstream media about how dangerous “climate change” is and about how the world as we know it is going to end if we don't take dramatic steps to fight global warming. But what they don't tell you in the mainstream media is what the “final solution” for the problem of “climate change” that the global elite have come up with actually is. You see, for the global elite the math is simple. They believe that human overpopulation is causing climate change, and so the solution to climate change is population control. As bizarre as that sounds, that is what they actually believe. The Physics of Futurama

You might think that Futurama's an unlikely place to find a grab bag of graduate-level physics, but in an excellent new interview with the American Physical Society, creator David X. Cohen says viewers of his show will find just that. The lengthy, awesome interview, which will be published in the next APS journal, details how Cohen himself made the transition from graduate student in physics to professional comedy writer, and includes a teaser of a science-heavy episode from the new season: In the 10th episode of the upcoming season, tentatively entitled “The Prisoner of Benda,” a theorem based on group theory was specifically written (and proven!) by staffer/PhD mathematician Ken Keeler to explain a plot twist. Aliens ‘hijack’ Nasa’s Voyager 2, claims expert

Hartwig Hausdorf, a German academic, believes that the reason Voyager 2, an unmanned probe that has been in space since 1977, is sending strange messages that are confusing scientists, is because it has been taken over by extraterrestrial life. Since its launch, Voyager 2 has been sending streams of data back to Earth for study by scientists, but on April 22, 2010, that stream of information suddenly changed. He told the German newspaper Bild: “It seems almost as if someone has reprogrammed or hijacked the probe – thus perhaps we do not yet know the whole truth.” Voyager 2 carries a disk with greetings in 55 languages on it in case the craft encounters other life forms. Dr Edward Stone, a scientist on the project, said the desk, called the Golden Record, is “a kind of time capsule, intended to communicate a story of our world to extraterrestrials. “The Voyager message is carried by a phonograph record-a 12-inch gold-plated copper disk containing sounds and images selected to portray the diversity of life and culture on Earth.” added by: slagface

‘District 9’ Star Says Sequel Should Come ‘Eventually’

By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Wigler “District 9” Photo: Sony Pictures Given its $115 million box-office success, positive critical reception and overwhelming audience enthusiasm, it’s fairly safe to assume a “District 9” sequel will go into production in the next few years. And when MTV News recently caught up with the film’s breakout star, Sharlto Copley, he told us he and director Neill Blomkamp have definitely discussed a second visit to the District. “Neill has said several times that he wants to do another one. It’s really coming down to a timing issue,” Copley explained. “I think eventually, what Neill wants to do — I’m doing films now as an actor — when Neill commits to something he obviously commits for a significant period of time. At the end of the day, it’ll be up to when Neill wants to do it, but I know he wants to. I would love to go back to the world and the character. I really enjoyed the character.” Copley says that as far as what his character might be up to in a sequel, one thing he’d like for Wikus is to remain on Earth, versus having the film set on another planet. “I would definitely want to keep it grounded on Earth. I definitely have more interest, personally, in work that feels a little bit grounded,” he offered. “It’s work that’s easier for me to relate to. I think that was the edge with ‘District 9,’ the world of Johannesburg and the world of South Africa. I would hope that it would stay there. But you never know with Neill — he really is a genius! If he came up with a good way to put it in another planet, I’d be interested! I’d be there in a second.” Finally, we asked Copley for his take on the much-discussed, did-he-or-didn’t-he-turn-into-a-prawn moment at the end of “District 9.” “You see, this is the interesting thing — everybody just buys that! This is what I’m loving,” he laughed. “Everybody is always like, ‘That’s you at the end, right? That’s you! That’s you!’ I’ll just leave it there! If you’re convinced, then you’re convinced!” So we suggested that frame one of the sequel should be Wikus popping up behind the Prawn’s shoulder … to which Copley laughed in our face. “Right, like knocking his head off with a bat! ‘Eclipse’ Soundtrack Includes Band Of Horses, Sia, Cee-Lo

And now, finally, we know it all: every artist that will contribute a song to the much-anticipated “Eclipse” soundtrack. Yes, over the course of seven very long hours, the folks at MySpace Music gradually revealed the list of artists and songs that would appear on the album, due June 8 . Now, that list is complete. From the looks of things, it’s shaping up to be a pretty excellent affair. In addition to the previously announced artists, we get a whole lot of indie (Florence and the Machine, Metric, Sia and Band of Horses); genuine fist-pumping, throat-ripping rock and roll (from Jack White’s the Dead Weather and Akron thumpers the Black Keys); ominous electro (UNKLE, who team up with the Black Angels on a track); oddball hip-hop (from Cee-Lo Green); and even some of the classy stuff, courtesy of Oscar-winning composer Howard Shore, who weighs in with “Jacob’s Theme.” As announced on author Stephenie Meyer’s website last week, the first single from the “Eclipse” soundtrack is slated to be Muse’s rather epically titled “Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever),” which will hit radio Monday.
