The Mad Men star, who was involved in an unusual hit-and-run accident last month, has traded in her flowing blonde locks for a short, red style. Says Townsend of the look: “You always see January as this ’50s, sort of Grace Kelly character. I wanted to really show off the power of hair and makeup with a bit of a ’20s influence.” Catch Jones as Betty Draper when Mad Men premieres its fourth season on July 25 – and sound off below on this change… With this look, the actress is…

Attractions: Eclipse and Airbender — A Tale of Two Tentpoles

Welcome back to Movieline Attractions, your regular guide to everything new, noteworthy and/or cash-hoarding at the movies. But even he won’t be truly flattened, regardless of the reviews. Let’s explore the box-office potential, whaddya say?

Kristen Stewart Preparing Her Next Apology

“I don’t feel very comfortable on the red carpet,” Kristen Stewart recently told Hello! What else is new? Oh: “I look out there at a thousand people and I realize they could rush me and assassinate me. No security could protect me. Ostensibly they’re fans, but I think about them turning on me.” Sigh. On the bright side, at least she has a year off to get the next press tour right. Or get better security. [ PopEater ]

Choose Your Own Abs-venture in the 8-Bit Version of Eclipse

Like Harry Knowles , have you ever fantasized that you were Bella, the conflicted protagonist of the Twilight series? You’re in luck: some enterprising YouTubers have come up with a retro-cool videogame gloss on Eclipse (kinda like Final Fantasy meets Ninja Gaiden meets the Book of Mormon), and best of all, it’s actually interactive! Sure, most of your choices will boil down to choosing Edward over Jacob again and again, but at least that’s pretty much accurate, isn’t it? Click through to play:

Eclipse Director David Slade: ‘I Have No Idea Why Anyone Would Hire Me!’

When David Slade was announced as the director of the third Twilight film, Eclipse , it seemed like a risky proposition: he had only made two other movies ( Hard Candy and 30 Days of Night ), and both indicated a sensibility that might be too aggressive for the romantic Stephenie Meyer series. Perhaps that’s exactly what the franchise needed, though, as Slade’s turned in a well-received installment that’s a good deal more propulsive than Chris Weitz’s sluggish New Moon . The day after Eclipse’s Los Angeles premiere, Slade was still riding high from the audience’s reaction as he talked to Movieline about the tough shoot, his thoughts on the controversial Breaking Dawn , and the follow-up he definitely isn’t making next.

Hulu Begins to Make Cable Companies Useless

Can’t wait for the DVD release of your favorite show — or don’t feel like spending all that money on DVR ? Well, does Hulu having something for you! Just as long as you don’t watch stuff on CBS or Comedy Central, of course. The online television site has unveiled Hulu Plus , a $9.99 monthly service that would allow subscribers to watch full seasons of their favorite Fox, ABC and NBC shows on the site without being limited to the last five episodes. Hulu Plus will also open up the archives — great news for fans of The Pretender — and be available on both the iPad and iPhone. Though since current users will still be able to use Hulu almost exactly as they do now — that being, for free — why the change in business model?

Eclipse Producer Tricked Into Confirming Kristen Stewart/Robert Pattinson Romance

By this time, anyone associated with the Twilight saga knows that there’s a party line to toe when it comes to questions concerning the much gossiped-about real-life relationship between Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson: you either deny its existence, or you clam up and refuse to talk about it. Perhaps producer Wyck Godfrey could use a refresher, because a wily Time interrogator was able to get him to speak about it — at length! — just by phrasing his question in a manner Godfrey wasn’t used to:

Good News: There Will Be a Glee Audition Show. Bad News: It’s on Oxygen

Just a week after Fox pulled the plug on a new reality series that critics had nicknamed So You Think You Can Be On Glee — a project showcasing worldwide auditions for Ryan Murphy’s song-and-dance series — Oxygen has decided to repurpose the discarded project for its own cable lineup.
